imagine your name is BAELFIRE and your MOM leaves you for a PIRATE and you get drafted in a WAR so your dad becomes the most powerful WIZARD ever but he becomes EVIL so you try to LEAVE to another world WITHOUT MAGIC with him but he LOVES magic so you FALL through a PORTAL and now youre HOMELESS in ENGLAND but then find a FAMILY except you get TAKEN by a SHADOW to PROTECT your new FAMILY except you get found by PIRATES and their CAPTAIN is actually your MOMS LOVER and he says your DAD killed your MOM but then the captain SURRENDERS you to PETER PAN because he wants to KILL your DAD but somehow you ESCAPE from PETER PAN to a land WITHOUT MAGIC and you FALL IN LOVE with a GIRL and you do CRIME together except PINOCCHIO wants you to ABANDON her because she is the SAVIOR of people from YOUR OLD LAND so you DO but then she goes to JAIL where she finds out shes PREGNANT which you find out 11 YEARS later when she and your EVIL DAD find you in NEW YORK where you have a FIANCE who ends up being ANTI-MAGIC and she TRIES to KILL you and you go through a PORTAL for the SECOND time but now PETER PAN has KIDNAPPED your SON and you get MANIPULATED to SAVE HIM but LUCKILY you go BACK to the WORLD without MAGIC but PETER PAN casts a CURSE and you FIND OUT that PETER PAN is your GRANDFATHER but he is DEFEATED but then the WICKED WITCH comes to TOWN and you end up SACRIFICING yourself so the WICKED WITCH can be KILLED. ALSO YOUR BABY MAMA ENDS UP MARRYING YOUR STEPDAD

For context I’ve only just finished up to Season 3 so I don’t know what’s going to happen, but… at this point I genuinely think Belle might be colourblind from the sheer amount of red flags she’s missing with Rumplestiltskin’s behaviour. Like, girl, I know he’s remarkably attractive (he gets it from his dad), but you were his PRISONER. You know he’s the murdering murderer who murders people, plus he spent many years as the scaly sorcerer of the cartoonishly evil castle. It doesn’t matter how many books he gave you, the man was off his fucking rocker and to this day all he needs is one small excuse to start force-choking people like he’s in Star Wars. Then, with all of that considered, how could anyone expect him not to avenge the death of Neal? Not only did he already hate Zelena, but literally everything bad that’s happened all stemmed from a pre-Dark One Rumple trying to avoid even the possibility of his son dying. He created the DARK CURSE to reunite with Baelfire, he let go of his dagger when Zelena took it so that he wouldn’t lose his son in his last moments. Does Belle really think that the lying liar will just settle down and get married while the woman who caused the death of his beloved Bae is alive and (mostly) well? Not to mention how out of character it would be for Rumple to be so blasé with the dagger that can control his every action, like “here you go Belle, I’ve spent centuries hiding it and recently ripped off my own shadow so a blood relative wouldn’t get to it, but my important dagger will be perfectly safe in your open handbag!” The people that roast Belle are kind of right, she isn’t as smart as she thinks she is 😭. Also I wasn’t a fan of the weird hat she wore for their wedding but that’s a whole different issue 😅. With all of that said, please don’t get me wrong - Belle has always been my favourite Disney Princess and I absolutely love her portrayal on OUAT, her unwavering faith in Rumple’s ability to be good is actually beautiful and amazing to watch, I just wish Rumple was worthy of her faith.

I think I’m gonna write an introspective one-shot set at the end of ‘Desperate Souls’ about young Baelfire trying to contend with the fact that his papa has been replaced by a scary, unfamiliar man who looks and sounds like his papa but is so very different to him, and he won’t leave him alone because from Rumple’s somewhat warped perspective he has no idea what’s wrong with his son, because it’s still him… isn’t it? It’s been a little while since I’ve written angst, and this will be my first ever OUAT fic so I’m very excited 😁.

Call me (a more upbeat) Rumplestiltskin the way I react to every time Neal Cassidy appears onscreen with an enthusiastic “Bae!” It doesn’t really click in my head that he’s an adult, that’s my boy Baelfire. I started feeling maternal forwards him in ‘Desperate Souls’ and even though adult Neal is older than me, those feelings didn’t go away, I think me and Runple would get along for the sole reason that we both just want to see Bae alive and (relatively, as much as possible) well. Yes, I know what happens to him because of Zelena, I watched it, but I like to pretend that never happened. In my mind he’s alive and happy, doing whatever makes him feel better about the traumatic events of his teenage years, and you can’t take that denial away from me 😂.
