The SKAM fic rec binder

Hi friends! Long time no see! We’re breaking our hiatus temporarily for something we feel is incredibly important - to figure out how to reach each other in the SKAM fandom in case we need to. In light of Tumblr’s new “no adult content” policy and the current uncertainty of fandom’s future on this site, we thought it might be a good idea to put together a resource of where people in the SKAM fandom can be found off of Tumblr should anyone want or need to move off the site for any reason. 

We’ve set up a google form you can fill out with as many social media accounts as you feel comfortable providing, and we will be providing access to a read only spreadsheet so we can all find each other easily!

Today is about honoring the readers and writers I really cherish and I love everyone over at @skaminternational2121 and the folks at @skamficwriters but I need to specifically mention my main friends that I have made through this fantastic fandom:

@brooklynbabybucky Mack you are my best friend that I’ve met on the internet and I know I can always count on your fics to be funny and cute.

@medicineontour Caroline I’m sosososo happy I got to know you even through the Dark Times on server 1 lmao. You’re an outstanding writer who can do just about every genre but your angst is my favorite.

@bizexualrosadiaz Megan you were my first skam friend and I will never forget you drunk messaging the server all the time lmao. I can’t wait to meet you in person!

Litteraly everyone I’ve interacted with in this fandom has been amazing and I feel like I’ve disocvered a new world. But if I’m going to name a few names, it’ll have to be @nofeartina for answering my comments in such a sincere and friendly way, telling me to get a tumblr because it was “fun”. You were so right, bb! <3 @aimitis of course for being lovely and friendly and boosting my confidence - and of course for being an amazing co-writer <3 @skamskada for chatting away with me, making me feel welcome - thank you so much <3 @mynameisnotthepoint for volunteering to help me out with a translation - and then we just never stopped talking. I love discussing words and worlds and everything with you <3 And also @irazor  - we’ve barely started and I’m already having so much fun!

There are so so many lovely people in this fandom, but today I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to the two incredible people over at @evaksbinder, who are running this entire fest: @canonicallyanxious and @arindwell ! 

Y’all, I can definitively confirm that these two work SO hard to run the evaksbinder blog, and it’s all out of their own free time, too! They do it out of the pure love for the fandom and for the fics of this fandom (and also because they’re just generally wonderful people), and on top of it all, they even came up with this lovely event to celebrate the readers and writers in the fandom. I know that for me personally, it’s been so pleasant to scroll through my dashboard and see all the positive and sweet posts for fics all throughout this week. It’s brightened my week so much and I’ve very much enjoyed revisiting fics I’ve loved and discovering new fics to add to my ‘to-read’ list.

Fandoms are what they are because of what the people put into it, and these two have contributed so much into bringing more light and love into the skam fandom. This event would not be happening without you!

Fandom-ly speaking, I’m really late to the party. I think I’ve missed lots of drama and stuff, and I came here to find a group of people who peacefully interact with each other, support each other and create really impressive content, and it’s lovely and heartwarming to watch from the sides. I don’t know if it’s due to the fact that I randomly chose to follow the right blogs, but I don’t think I would have been brave enough to put myself out there in this fest if I didn’t feel surrounded by welcoming, gentle, intelligent people.

There’s lots of really cool Skam blogs and I don’t think I could list them all, so I’ll just mention those I specifically look for in my dash to know what they’re up to:

@towonderland72 because I sent an ask about special collections for a writing meme and in answer I received a new chapter, I’m still not over it

@bizexualrosadiaz this person is responsible for the edit I’ve been laughing about for like two weeks and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon

The last day of the Love Fest [@evaksbinder for details], and we’re focusing on the amazing people of this fandom! I feel like i have to preface this post by saying i just came off a full day of travel and I’m not feeling my best, so I don’t think I’ll be able to execute my original plan for today =/ it would be a crime not to show the people who have made this fandom experience something I will never forget some appreciation though! So here we go! I’m gonna shout out just a couple friends who deserve some love!

@evakuality is a very old fandom friend and holds a very special place in my heart. I still can’t believe ‘its been almost three years???? We’ve been through so much bullshit, but I’m so glad we’re still here facing all the other bullshit together!! Not only are you one of my best fandom friends, but you’ve also been one of the most supportive people when it comes to my writing. I can’t tell you how much it means to me; all i can really do is thank you for all that you’ve done for me. <3

@call-this-a-mask + @hotchocolatenthusiast y’all aren’t very active in SKAM fandom anymore but i literally can’t think of this fandom without thinking of my friendship with you guys. I mean, your IMPACT, guys. Kathi co-founding the binder with me?? So many amazing AU ideas and hcs that came out of our cracky rambles??? Countless unforgettable conversations and memories???? This friendship has to be hands down one of the best things that has come out of being in this fandom for me, and I feel so very grateful that even though you’re not as into the show anymore you still keep me around lol. Not to be sappy on main [that’s my secret; i”M ALWAYS SAPPY] but this is a friendship for LIFE my dudes. I sincerely hope it stays that way. <3

@offbeat-leah can you believe we’ve only been friends for a few months???? It feels SO MUCH LONGER than that, I can’t even express. You’re one of the kindest most supportive people i know and it’s amazing that I know without a doubt I can come to you about basically anything!!! I mean even beyond fandom stuff, I know I’ve bitched to you about basically everything under the sun lol. I’m really really happy we got to talking, it’s so wonderful to know someone who I can relate to so, so much. You’re wonderful and I love you. <3

@juilawicker I don’t get starstruck anymore when you talk to me lol but I haven’t yet outgrown the feeling that I am immeasurably lucky to know you and your talents and just YOU. You’ve got to be one of the most talented writers I’ve ever met in fandom, EVER, and I just know you’re going to do amazing and beautiful things with those talents. Even beyond that, you’re just one of the brightest, loveliest people I know!! I’m not exaggerating when I say every message I get from you puts a smile on my face. You’re just THAT POWERFUL. Thank you for just… being you honestly. The world is all the better for it. <3

@tristealven + @crazyheartfics + @kapplebougher we’ve also only been talking for a short while but I value the space we’ve created for ourselves so much!!! I know this might sound kind of crazy but I actually really enjoy waking up to 200-300+ messages lol. We’ve had so much fun and I feel really lucky to know you guys! I hope we continue to talk long into the future!! <3

@skamz I’m just including you so I can publically call you out for your football AU. JK I LOVE YOU A LOT AND YOU’RE SO FUCKING NICE AND HILARIOUS AND JUST ALL AROUND A WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING AND I LOVE TALKING TO YOU! I JUST NEEDED YOU TO KNOW THAT! KTHXBYE!!!! <3

I can’t thank my luck enough that I’ve managed to come across so many wonderful people here. I’m sure there are so many more than I know personally that are just as awesome. But, here are some lovelies I’d like to thank for making this whole experience such a positive part of my everyday life.

@vesperthine, you’re such a cool and smart person, and it’s kind of thanks to you that I’m here now, making this post. When I offered to beta for you last fall, it was the first step towards engaging more in the fandom, actually start talking to people and not just scroll around on tumblr and read fics. And, of course, to start writing myself. Thank you for betaing my fics, making them so much better and putting up with all my cheese. <3 And for trusting me with your wonderful, wonderful writing. It is an honor beyond words.

@nofeartina, you’re such an awesome and warm person. Thank you for being such a good friend, for helping me flesh out my (sometimes pretty fuzzy) fic ideas, and for listening to my complaints about literally everything. And for trusting me to beta for you, and well, just being you. <3

@champagneleftie, you’re such a nice, wise person and an amazing writer, and I’m so honored and happy that we wrote together this summer. It was so much fun, and you have the best ideas. Thank you for betaing my Swedish fics, and for being awesome in general.

There are so, so many people I could mention here: the fellow writers I can brainstorm (and vent!) with, the readers who consistently comment on my fics, the people who leave incredibly nice tags on my drabbles, etc. But, I do have to shout-out one group in particular.

and i can never thank @tristealven enough: you are so inspiring, thoughtful and wise. so, so wise. and that you wanted to betaread my fic, that time, it changed everything. we don’t talk on the daily, but i always love talking to you ♡

@irazor, you’re one of my favourite people ever. so amazingly upbeat, and i feel honoured that you let me betaread your fics (even if our thresholds for cheesiness are a bit different!) and so grateful whenever you take your time to look through mine. thank you ♡
