Like my honest answer is that it's contextually dependent (eg if I say 'that dude over there' or 'i don't like dudes' that's very clearly gendered and would be weird to say about a woman, if I say 'what up dude' or 'dude that's fucking wild' to a friend it's significantly less gendered and wouldn't hit the ear wrong if I was talking to a woman)

very broadly, dude as a descriptive noun is Definitely Firmly Gendered, dude as a mode of address is Not Definitely Gendered

however in case that hits the ear wrong, part of the contextually dependent bit is 'is the listener likely to interpret this in a gendered way, and do I want them to?' and if the answer is yes it is likely to land as gendered, then it's gendered 🤷‍♀️
