Ethan closes the door slowly and presses his back to the now closed door. His blood spilling everywhere. "F-fuck- shit-" he sobs as he slides down the door.
"Sh-shit- god it hurts-" He continues to sob as he peals his jacket off and looks at the blood soaking his shirt. It hurt so bad. He was struggling to breath, he can't even remember how he got hurt, all he can think about is how similar the pain was to being impaled by that metal so long ago.
He curls up in a ball by the door. He dosnt even know if this is his house. He just knows he hurts everywhere. To the naked eye he's perfectly fine. Just a sobbing and snotty mess on the floor. But that's not what he's seeing. There's so much blood. He can smell it. His body feels numb but pain at the same time.
"make it st-stop" He crys to no one in particular. He knows he can't die from this. He know. But it still hurts. It still really fucking hurts.

Anyone else ever wondered Leon getting called out on such top-secret missions ever reminds Ethan of Mia getting called out for extended periods of time?
I'm sure he missed her a lot, but he wasn't as anxious before. He didn't know what was really going on back then. Now he does. He knows exactly what kind of work Leon does. It feels too familiar and much worse.
Would Leon at least share where he's going? I'm not sure yet. On the one hand, communication with your partner. On the other, he is probably not supposed to tell anyone, and telling Ethan might directly lead to that man showing up in the middle of nowhere... wearing his business casual work clothes. One handgun and a box of bullets, maybe a knife if we're lucky.
If Leon is ever home a day late, that feeling is going to be awful. Hopefully he never disappears like Mia did.

In the au where Ethan survives, while he does drink, I think he gets uncomfortable drinking with Mia or certain wines because of the last interaction he had with "Mia" (yes he knows it was mother miranda now but it felt so real)
