# Another waffle 🧇 slightly sad Earth ramblings.

After Adam crashed to Earth and went into the foster system, he had his Eternian clothes taken away and his hair cut to fit in with the other children.

He’d asked to keep his Eternian tunic and was told ‘maybe.’ He never got it back.

He was made to feel like he shouldn’t have much of an identity and should look like a ‘normal Earth kid’. His hair was kept short all throughout up until high school, which is when he started growing it out again. As his mom had loved his hair and it reminded him of her.

But those in between years, he didn’t have many belongings. Just maybe an old sketchpad someone had given him at an appointment. Some colouring pens. Hand-me-down clothes from others. A green beanie baby that reminded him of Cringer that he found in a donation pile. Most of his stuff wasn’t his own.

Life on Earth is very different to Eternia. Kids were crueler and played pranks, ripped his drawings, would embarrass him.

So when he eventually gets his own place, he allows himself the luxury of having *stuff*.

A gaming set-up?! Hell yeah. A telescope, absolutely. Definitely one too many pairs of nice sneakers/trainers because he sees them and # likes them.

He debates getting a cat for a while but decides against doing it because it’d be replacing Cringer.

Although Hussein means well and is practically his only friend, he’s very much a believer of blending in, being like everybody else. So he’d made Adam a hinge profile ‘to get out there and be normal just like everyone else!’ and would take Adam on trips to sports games so that he’d stop talking about sunsets on Eternia and start talking about touchdowns and cup wins. Hussein tries to introduce Adam to some of his friends but it’s never much fun.

Adam just wants connection. Belief from someone that he isn’t lying about his home. But he’s not going to bend himself and shape himself into something he isn’t just to get people to like him.

Just like everyone else.

He still has most of his drawings (that made it throughout several foster experiences and school bullying) and of course, his beloved green beanie baby.

Adam can’t be like everyone else. It physically isn’t in him to pretend to be. His mom’s words echo in his mind every night before he sleeps.
