Relatives tend to share mannerisms and if you want a nice little detail for your stories, I recommend including that.
A father and son share the same restless or anxious movement like chewing on the inside of their lip or tapping their fingers. A mother and daughter both raise their eyebrows when theyāre in deep thought. Two siblings both tilt their heads when something is intriguing. A younger brother copies his older brotherās posture. A grandchild copies the way their grandfather crosses his arms behind his back when he walks. A father throws his hat down when his sports team loses and his child grows up to do the same.
Adding niche similarities between my characters and their families is one of my favourite things to develop and one of my favourite ways to connect them despite whatever relationship and differences they may have.
They could hate their family and yet they tap their foot side to side when theyāre standing in one spot like their father does, and they scrunch their nose when they close their eyes like their mother did. This can be used to portray your characterās struggle with their family, and amplify their fear over ending up like their family. Itās a subtle addition and yet it adds more depth to their turmoil.
Or on the flip side, it can help show how much your character admires their family by emulating them. It can help show how important their bond with their family is to them by showing those shared, unconscious similarities.
Shared mannerisms are a small detail but they will be noticed by somebody and appreciated.
This is the money Marge. Reblog for good fortune
This is the absolute saddest type of art in Star Wars but like also the deepest. When I see Echo with Fivesā helmet. Rex with Jesseās helmet. Luke with Vaderās helmet. Ragnar with Pazās helmet. Omega with Techās helmet. Crosshair with Techās helmet. Numa with Waxer or Boilās helmet. Ahsoka with the 332nd orange painted helmet. Fives with Tupās helmet. Etc. like thereās something so powerful and sad about the keldabe between somebody and the helmet of their fallen loved one. Crying rn.
If I remember correctly, in wars in many ancient cultures warriors would take the heads of loved ones who fell in battle before the enemy could because (correct me if Iām wrong) thatās where they perceived the soul to be. Plus, thereās also the line āthe eyes are the window to the soulā, so I think even today it is still popular belief for some that the soul is observed to be strong around the face or the head.
Something about the motif of helmets in Star Wars. A shot we keep seeing in the media is a helmet being held so carefully, as the character takes in a helmet that is the same as millions that were manufactured, but changed over the years. Mandalorian helmets are rarely in pristine condition after the wearer dies. This would be telling of how much the individual has endured and kept pushing through, even after the downfall of Mandalore across the years it takes to start rebuilding a united society again. Vaderās helmet resembles a skeleton. He has been surrounded by death and darkness his entire life, it eventually consumed him entirely, When Ben Solo holds up said helmet, it is melted and mangled. Scarred and tired, like Vader was. But on the other hand, itās melted and mangled, presumably by the end of Return of The Jedi, when Vader died, and between the burned gaps there was a bit of Anakin Skywalker inside. The 501st legion were subjected to attacking Ashoka due to the inhibitor chips, but the paint on their helmets in honour of her serve as a reminder that they, as people, would be heartbroken with the events of Order 66.
Rex has been painting Mandalorian markings and keeping tallies on his helmet during his time serving and leading in the clone wars. Almost every clone does this. Itās their way of saying āIām here as a soldier, but also as me! This is who my brothers and friends remember me as.ā
The helmets in Star Wars media are scratched and dented, painted and decorated, and by the end of their use what was once purposed with covering the head still reflects the soul inside.
Huh....
I start to think about this after somebody explains to me how a woman can be a clone of a man.
Has anyone ever explained that in the show?
Answer: very easily. You can simply copy the X chromosome so that the resulting embryo has two copies of the X chromosome. Just delete the Y chromosome and voila, automatic female (providing there aren't any mutations on the resulting X copy).
Valid point!
I failed to mention the word āunalteredā in my original post which would contradict messing with chromosomes. First I kicked myself for it then I rechecked Techās words and was glad I forgot it because he doesnāt say āunalteredā, he says āShe has pure first generation DNA.ā and āOmega is a pure genetic replication.ā
So since he put it this way copying the X and omitting the Y wouldnāt contradict him, the genes would still be a āpureā replication.
He also says:
āSince he disappeared at the start of the war, that makes Omega the sole living source of Fettās raw genetic material.ā
In the end thatās what made her so special. One could argue that the Y chromosome is a goner but itās really small and I donāt think something relevant for the cloning program would be found there. One could probably just replace it with any other healthy Y chromosome with minimum consequences. But thatās me using half-knowledge about the genetic information at the Y-chromosome, so donāt take my word for it š
Thanks for making me reconsider š«¶
Now about the haircolorā¦
How TF can Omega be blonde in the first place?!?
Someone probs already explained the blonde but, but we all already know Rex is blond, and for the same reason. In the comics, Jango Fett had a sister in his childhood, Arla Fett.
Jango probably carried a recessive gene for two of his clones to have lighter hair, and whoās not to say that there are other clones we havenāt met who are also blond?

Nothing will feel quite the same after I entered year 10 and pretty much half our content (as well as half of year 11) was stuff I already knew on a deep level.
Iām a drama student btw. Itās not too hard to glide through questions about how desperate Gerald is to save his image when you did a monologue of his character that gave you massive stage fright for over six months.
"Were you ever in the war, Senator?"
SENATOR FOUND COLD & DEAD
Pigeon English changed my perspective on where and when I grew up in a lot of ways. I live in Britain, but growing up I never had to run away from gangs of people a few years older than me at the age of twelve for even looking at them wrong. I wasnāt ever randomly chosen by those gangs for me to do what they wanted. Iāve never had to worry if my younger brother would one day be reported dead on the news thanks to the violence happening with students from our own school. Iāve also never felt pressured or shamed to change myself to fit other people and what they like in a person living nearby.
That is just scratching the surface of this book, with its beautiful themes of trying to fit into an unfamiliar culture, as well as building a new and challenging social life where people repeatedly insist you and your family are too small for a true meaning in their world. All through the eyes of 12 year old refugee Harri from Ghana and occasionally a pigeon.
Me: I donāt want people on Tumblr to think Iām a bot, but I canāt decide which profile picture I want to use
One of the most questionable images of a fave possible:
I like to think back to this whenever Iām scared to start a new hobby
This is also the reason as to why I save and document as much of my art and writing as I can; you can look at your progress over time :)

Personal opinion, but the Hunchback of Notre Dame musical is hard for a choir kid/past choir kid to not gravitate towards.
hey do you guys think aaron knew kingpin was about to kill him. like he didnāt look away from miles once, even when aaron was pulling milesā mask back on, even when he raised his hands and backed up a little
but then thereās this split second where aaron looks to his left, which is where kingpinās car was parked and where kingpin would shoot him from
before he looks back to miles for half a second
and then he gets shot
like!! do you think aaron saw kingpin coming to kill him and chose not to do anything about it because he was thinking that itās better him than miles!!! anyway!!!
I was on a rewatch of ITSV and this thought came to me during this scene too! It made it sting all the more, he knew there was an ultimatum of his life or Milesās. In seconds he knew it wouldnāt be an easy choice for him when he discovered it was Miles he was sent to kill. What would he have felt? Shock? Guilt that this was his nephew who narrowly escaped death at HIS HAND multiple times? Disappointment with himself that this could possibly be who Miles will remember him as? Yet in the end, he made his choice. He didnāt know if Kingpin would get to Miles later on, but he was not getting this bright and well meaning boy now.
Something something Aaron was a dangerous man, but his love for his family outweighs anything he could be offered or threatened with :(
The band, the music, the dance.
puts on sound š£š¶šµ
Ok, I NEED you to understand just how insane even ATTEMPTING this was for them.
1. Playing an instrument is difficult. Doing so in sync with others even more so. Donāt think Iām stepping on any toes saying that.
2. Dancing is difficult. Doing so in sync with others even more so. Still not controversial.
3. YOU AVOID, AT ALL COSTS, MOVING YOUR BODY WHILE PLAYING A WIND INSTRUMENT.Ā To make the correct, pleasant sounds, you need to be in the correct form. And that form involves your ENTIRE body, even your legs when sitting down.
4. āoh, but Iāve seen marching bands before and-ā MARCHING BANDS HAVE ENTIRE SCIENTIFIC FIELDS DEDICATED TO FIGURING OUT HOW TO MARCH WITH MINIMUM BREAKING OF PROPER FORM. A marching band tries to be as smooth as possible while moving, so as not to jar their instrument, mouth, neck, arms, torso, or anything else. These ladies and gentlemen are BOUNCING and still playing properly, what the FU-!
5. AND ANOTHER THING! Wind instruments and dancing BOTH make demands on your breathing, so the fact that they are dancing (making you breath faster for extra oxygen) AND playing wind instruments (making you effectively hold your breath) AT THE SAME TIME is HUGE. Their lungs must be MASSIVE.
All of that also; the song is Sing, sing, sing (with a swing). If you wanna listen to some of THE SPICIEST big band ever recorded. Its a big hard song and this band does it expertly.
I take singing lessons, and even with a fully clear airway I marvel singers who dance while singing with a steady voice. Once my choir instructor used a breathing exercise that mimicked the way trumpets and instruments with a similar mouthpiece are used, and I immediately became a full ten steps closer to understanding how powerful the lungs of my schoolās brass band are. I cannot imagine doing what these people are doing even after half a year of rehearsals.
These guys are awesome!
