he  holds  no  particular  fondness  for  the  beach  —  which  may  come  as  a  surprise,  considering  his  resemblance  to  certain  creatures  of  aquatic  origin.  (  he  isn't  LITERALLY  an  octopus,  thank  you  very  much.  )  if  asked  why  he's  decided  to  grace  this  lonely  patch  of  sand  and  sea  with  his  beastly  presence,  shadow  milk  would  likely  chalk  it  up  to  a  whim.  artistic  inspiration!  seaside  air  —  the  artist's  panacea!  or  something  to  that  effect.

he  certainly  isn't  there  because  he  just  so  happens  to  be  looking  for  someone.

❝  ...  ❞  and  right  on  cue.  shadow  milk's  head  swivels  at  the  sound  of  her  voice.  there's  a  strange  look  in  his  eyes  as  he  stares  at  the  undine  —  a  little  surprised,  a  little  uncertain?  (  breaking  character?  ooh,  how  embarrassing.  )  the  beast  is  quick  to  smother  it  beneath  a  toothy  grin,  turning  to  face  her  properly  with  hands  clasped  neatly  behind  his  back.  ❝  a  HUG?  ❞  shadow  milk's  tentacles  give  a  dismissive  flick.  ❝  oh,  i  knooow  —  i'm  just  so,  so,  so  charming  and  lovable  and  full  of  redeeming  qualities.  who  WOULDN'T  want  to  hug  me?  alas,  i  do  have  a  reputation  to  maintain,  so  i  must  humbly  rrrefuse.  ❞  this  outfit  is  dry  clean  only,  by  the  by.  he's  pretty  sure  ocean  doesn't  count!  ❝  but  what.  a.  coinkydink!  you  are  just  the  cookie  i  wanted  to  see  —  fancy  meeting  you  here,  amirite?  ❞  hmm.  yes.  definitely  a  coincidence.  yes.

the  beast  pauses.  he  clicks  his  tongue,  trying  to  figure  out  the  most  eloquent  way  to  put  what  he  wants  to  say  next  into  words.  it's  a  good  thing  he  has  a  knack  for  improvising.  ❝  it's  a  funny  story.  i  won't  complicate  the  narrative  with  too  many  superfluous  details  —  let's  just  say  something  happened  recently  that  knocked  a  few  things  loose  up  here.  ❞  he  tap-taps  a  clawed  fingertip  to  his  temple.  ❝  and  would  you  believe  it?  SOME  of  those  things  involved  a  most  tragic  tale  involving  the  fount  of  knowledge...  and  a-you.  ❞

he  watches  her  expression  carefully,  giving  the  words  a  moment  to  sink  in.  ❝  you  know  me,  ❞   the  beast  continues,  ❝  i  can't  help  but  feel  curious!  is  it  the  trrruth...  or  a  sneaky  little  lie?  ❞

The undine only stared at him, Eyes softened at the tone he was using, It felt...more peaceful, The way he wasn't acting so bold in brawn...

"...!" He wanted to see... her? That was a first...but she froze when he mentioned him; the former him. What he once was, how they met. Sea Fairy stared at him, face morphing Into so many emotions but it was obvious; recognized, joy and a look of one's that suppressed what she was really feeling.

Her tears, as beautiful as the sea.

She gripped her sword as she stared at him, holding back the shine that flooded her eyes. "...It's..." She paused, closing her mouth. She waited years, enons. For this, a chance. It's finally here...

Didnt we make a promise...?

"...It's true." She finally got out, head moving back up to stare at him in the eyes, hair flawing out like the breeze was pushing in another direction, but it wasn't there...but...

this  is  one  of  them.

❝  ooh,  look  at  you,  look  at  you!  ❞  the  god  declares,  gazing  down  at  the  titaness'  twisted  form  with  a  smile.  certainly  a  change  from  the  guardian  he's  so  so  familiar  with  —  ah,  but  still  the  faintest  flicker  of  his  DEAR  OLD  FRIEND  remains!  ❝  bravo!  five  stars!  truly,  i  think  this  may  be  your  best  look  yet  —  in  any  universe!  kkkhhehehe!  ❞  khaos  gives  her  a  well-deserved  round  of  applause.  (  hope  she  understands  what  an  HONOR  that  is!  )  he  then  drifts  closer,  floating  roughly  at  eye  level  —  though  he  does  make  it  a  point  to  place  himself  just  a  teensy  bit  higher.  he's  always  enjoyed  making  other  cookies  LOOK  UP  if  they  want  to  face  him  properly.  ❝  oh,  but  i  simply  MUST  ask  now  —  what  brought  you  to  this  state?  what  IS  your  tragic  backstory,  hmm?  c'mooon.  you  can  tell  me!  we're  pals!  ...  in  another  timeline.  ❞

"..." She knows him. She can't explain it, why or who this is, but she just...has a faint mermory, someone that calling for her, but when was that? When was that someone- why should she care? She lost hope for her lover enons ago.

This little cookie floating infront of her, Why does he seemed so... She wanted to open her mouth:

Scylla finally glanced at him, Eyes once full of hope now despair and something else, recognizing? Gloom? Envy? You can't tell. "..." She moved her hands away from her mouth to speak. "...Perhaps, I..." She glanced away.

"...The moon, she...was never worth it, enons I spent yearning...was it ever worth it?"

"No. We don't Mystic Flour..." She replied back, voice a soft hum under the soft sky in the air, Flour and Dust...it didn't affect her, Her body was more complex that she liked to say so herself, even more complicated if someone decided to study her.

But that's not what she came for...

"...We don't stop waiting, waiting is only a fraction of lose warmth...the grieving of others..." Her hand silently curled around a tip of a fallen speck of dust, such precious dust what once used to be whole...

The Guardian turned to the beast, quiet but replied "...I'll wait...for you.." She got out, blue eyes and closed eyes...The Undine sat down on her 'knees' a good feet away from Mystic, hands still closed over her sword.

At least, that what she would think, had the guardian stopped there.

"Wait for me?" She repeated slowly. Her eyes were shut and her body still, not allowing any emotion to seep through. "Do you also wait for empty rooms to welcome you inside?"

...Perhaps they are on the same coin,

Apathy and Selfishness.

But there was a different, one turned to another out of the selfless and one became it for a desire they wanted so much.

Sea Fairy didn't say much as she stared at Mystic Flour, She lived a life she can't go back from, A small sigh escaped the undine mouth as she put her sword aside, but kept one finger on it as she wasn't risking everything. "...I can wait another eternity."

She did it before, just for her.

"...Empty rooms are empty for a reason, no matter what state....it cannot be returned how it used too, yet there was life inside of it before.."

Now she sits there...hands close to her heart as she gazes at the Moon, seeing how much it shines.

She silently reached a finger out to trace the water where the light showed, seeing the reflection of the water...It brought her...

He watched as she sat in silence, her gaze transfixed on the sky. Licorice stood a few feet away and cast his gaze skyward as well, trying to gather what he could see. Was she merely stargazing, or was it something more? As he neared her, he watched as she dipped her finger into the water and watched the moonlight's reflection with a placid expression. It seemed she was basking in peace, alone.

...A small perk up from the undine, she didn't exactly move her position from the rock she was on, but she glanced over for a moment,

Licorice.

She didn't say anything for a moment, but the way he was staring... Over the past days, she gotten used to him if she can say so herself, A lone cookie with a past that was troublesome, She somehow could relate to that.

"...You don't have to be so far..." She finally got out, her voice still the same, gentle, quiet and something else he couldnt place. "...Peace is something that, most cookies come to the ocean for..." She glanced back at the sky,

oh her moon.

Mystic Flour did not face Sea Fairy Cookie, eyes shut as she sat in meditation.

Waiting... she knew the feeling well. Once, she sat bound in a cocoon waiting for enlightenment, suffering horrid visions of both the future and the past.

Then she sat bound beneath a fork and the roots of a tree, with nothing to do but meditate. Waiting for freedom that may never come.

Now she has to wait for her body to heal and her strength to be restored.

Waiting, waiting, waiting...
