Don't let appreciation depreciate
Life, reality speaking, is a series of unlimited wants. We got what we wanted, then we move further, moving on to another want. It seems like life is an endless chase for satisfaction, people never quite being contented for long on the things they have and rather, have a longing for the things they don't. Sometimes, the things we aspire are not even necessary for ourselves. Seems like the society we live in nowadays dictates the norms of what we should have. Things become symbolisms of statuses in the community. It's like what we have is what defines us... And what a thing of beauty we don't have makes us not desirable or makes life less convenient. Really people, not everything the society teaches us is true and leads to a good life. Those material things we continuously crave for are just superficial. Same with the happiness people taught they bring. Why can't just people accept who they are and what they have? I mean, I'm not against consumerism and all, but too much is definitely bad. It's time to wake up from the mentality that material things make people better. It's time to stop the : "Oh, I've got what I wanted, now what next?" thoughts. Cause the real key to happiness is appreciation. Always try to appreciate what you have and be contented. It's true that one can't have it all... so let's not waste our time trying to prove that and realizing too late how futile it is to rely on material and superficial things in making someone's life fulfilling and worth living.
Why I can't give up hope and trust and faith
I often encounter people who say they don’t have hope or trust or faith.
I understand them perfectly. It’s because life seems too cruel and unfair sometimes that it strips us of our hopes and dreams and expectations. Leaving just wisps of hurt and pain behind. We people often experience sudden downs and disappointments and loses. It’s like there’s just no point in carrying on.
I understand these sentiments perfectly because there are times when I’m one of those people who doesn’t feel like carrying on any longer. We all have our share pain, and sometimes it’s just too much to bear.
But then I remember how much I’ve been holding out and how far I’d gone and how many trials I overcome or escaped. Still, despite all of life’s harshness, there are things to be thankful for.
Up until now and continuing on, I have my hope, trust, and faith buckled up in my everyday journeys, because I realize that these are the very things that keeps me moving forward and facing each day.
