#fully booked

I just watched the first episode of Fully Booked and actually enjoyed it. Mainly because it helped me repeat my food and cooking Vocabulary ^^

The first highlight of the show, aside from the cooking and recipes, is when Book(!) asks how to pronounce "fully booked" and can't do it. Dunk then translates it for him. You can't make that stuff up, I swear.

Or Force realising in horror that they have Dunk taking notes, who writes Thai like a 3rd grader, because he went to an international school and was taught in English mainly. So funny.

The show however, like safe house, is no BL show. Aside from Book and Force there aren't any ships there either.

It's Book, Force, Dunk, Gun, Earth and Pond having to learn how to cook and then going to Japan to run a Thai restaurant for 2 days by themselves.

So far, in ep 1, we have learned that none of them can cook, some even act like they've never seen a kitchen from the inside. The pro chef they hired to teach them has her work cut out for her.

So far only Gun and Force seem to know a little bit what they are doing.

The Realness Of Fairy Tales

But I deal here with what ethic and philosophy come from being fed on fairy tales. If I were describing them in detail I could note many noble and healthy principles that arise from them. There is the chivalrous lesson of “Jack the Giant Killer”; that giants should be killed because they are gigantic. It is a manly mutiny against pride as such. For the rebel is older than all the kingdoms, and the Jacobin has more tradition than the Jacobite. There is a lesson of “Cinderella,” which is the same as that of the Maginficat - EXALTAVIT HUMILES (He has exalted the humble). There’s this great lesson of “Beauty and the Beast”; that a thing must be loved BEFORE it is lovable. There is the terrible allegory of the “Sleeping Beauty,” which tells you how the human creature was blessed with all the birthday gifts, yet cursed with death; and how death also may perhaps be softened to a sleep…  But I am not concerned with the whole spirit of its law, which I learnt before I could speak, and shall retain when I cannot write. I am concerned with a certain way of looking at life, which was created in me by the fairy tales, but has since been meekly ratified by the mere facts.

Which GMMTV show from 2024 have you liked the most so far (only those that started in 2024 count. That's why Cooking Crush, Cherry magic etc. are missing)
