As if it was an unbidden fantasy, suddenly he was there, climbing the bed over him. Wearing a black and white plaid, white shirt and jeans. The warmth from his hovering was absurd. As was his smell. Something musky, biting and herbal. Like a forest on a hot day. Alex swallowed and wondered how being gay was the least of his concerns right now. He was a big man. Alex wasn‘t sure how he missed this point, but it’s kinda of hard to ignore when the six feet two of him was hovering like a furnace over his sweating body. He was awfully detailed for a fantasy too. His beard was full and crisp. He realized he was noticing because his hand was caressing it.

A HISS of a flare can be heard. A flare flies through the air, leaving behind a trail of sparks. It lands right in front of Wake’s face. Wake shields his eyes with one arm. The flare goes off, and the world turns to blinding RED. Booming gunshots can be heard. Wake blinks his eyes furiously, the flashlight now in his hand. Slowly, his vision clears, and he makes out a silhouette of a man walking towards him. Wake squints to see. It's Casey.

Sam Lake: To me Ilkka Villi is physical actor of Alan Wake and Matthew Porretta is the voice of Alan Wake. That is who Alan Wake is. There was never any question of Alan Wake being portrayed by anyone else.

Matthew Porretta: This is how it works: Ilkka would paint a picture and then he'll send it to me, and then I'll paint a little bit on a picture and then I send it back to him. There's this kind of collaboration we do. And it's very rare that you see us in the same place together. It's singular and it's ours.
