Redesign of the APE from the movie, "A*P*E" (1976).
Probably a little too ferocious looking for a such a knock off of Kong.
Tried to make APE look ragged and wild, lacking the regalness of King Kong.

My take on the cut Baranguirus from unmade, "Godzilla vs Baranguirus", which eventually lead to "Godzilla vs Destroyah".
I tried to combine key elements of both the kaiju, While I am happy that the final movie brought a new kaiju with Destroyah It would be interesting to see how Toho would have handled this fusion.
Two newer illustrations, Kamen Rider and TMNT.
I am a lifelong TMNT fan, and have been slowly getting into Kamen Rider.
I wonder who would win between the Karate Bugman and the Heroes in a half shell?
Poster style illustration of a Daimajin vs Gamera crossover.
This match up has been on my Wishlist for a long time. I would love to see a film revolving around this matchup.
I combined some interpretations of Daimajin together for the design, but kept Gamera styled after the "Advent of Legion" design.
I'll be selling prints of this illustration and others at ACEN 2023, in Chicago IL this May.
Redesign of Barubaroi from the Unmade film, "Godzilla vs Barubaroi".
I tried to keep the general design aesthetic the same as the main image that is associated with the Barubaroi design but update it to be more cohesive.
I made the whale head more recognizable and toned down the randomness of the arms while keeping with the absorbed animal theme.
I kept the Godzilla spines that the design would get after absorbing some of Godzilla but made them more recognizable as well.
The Barubaroi concept has a lot of Gargantua and Hedorah in its DNA and I think that comes out in my interpretation.

Redesign of The Sphinx from, "Godzilla Double Smash" for the Nintendo DS.
I completely forgot about this monster from the Pipeworks Godzilla handheld game.
I pushed the Crystal's to the forefront of the design to showcase its connection to SpaceGodzilla and Krystalak.
The remaining redesigns of the Pipeworks designed monsters for Godzilla Unleashed.

Redesign of unmade monster The Visitor from, "Godzilla: Unleashed" (2007).
Not much official artwork out there of The Visitor, and generally I don't think this potential original kaiju was that popular in general.
I found a lot of Freiza's 3rd form, from Dragonball Z, even more so than the Xenomorph from "Alien". So, I looked to Frieza for inspiration.
I made the hook claws from it back longer and more like crab legs, extended the tail, adjusted the exoskeleton of the original design, added some horns that are a direct reference to Freiza.
Redesign of Obsidius from, "Godzilla: Unleashed" (2007).
For Obsidius I felt like i either had to make the design more "organic" or really push an asymmetrical rock look. Chose the former.
I changed up the tail to be mainly just lava, which I think give it a more dynamic look over the original tail.
I also made Obsidius generally beefier, which I think fits the character.

King Godzilla Redesign, from the manga, "Godzilla, King of the Monsters Vol 1" (1992).
This one was a challenge, the design in pretty complex and blending the elements from all the monsters to be more cohesive was difficult.
I decided to use Godzilla's texture as the base for the and add embellishment from there. Changed up the wing design, added more Battra elements to the center Godzilla head and tails. (The elements added to the head are also reminiscent of Super Godzilla).
I added the Biollante chest cavity so that the overall design featured Biollante, not just the wounded version seen to the right.
I reference the main monsters and the manga for this design, as well as super Godzilla.
Guilala, from "The X from Outer Space".
Yongary, from "Yongary"
Gologa, from "Gologa" (lost film as of 2023)
Wangmagwi from, "Space Monster Wangmagwi"
Some giant ape kaiju redesigns:
Mechani Kong, from "King Kong Escapes"
King Kong, from "King Kong" based on golden snub-nosed monkey
Konga. from "Konga"
OC kaiju inspired by Space Godzilla, Iris, that Fake Godzilla Earth from years ago, Red King and the Elden Beast.
Sea Baragon redesign from the manga, "Godzilla King of the Monsters Vol1" (1992).
Weird to have something called "Baragon" without the crescent ears.
I tried to update the design based on the few images I could find of the manga, but changed up the tai, roughed up the look overall, and added some chunk to make it more walrus like.

Redesign of Ookondoru (Giant Condor), from the film Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (1966).
Ookondoru is a challenging redesign. Not much to work from, but I tried not to go to out there with it.
I added spikes to its abdomin as a reference to the original appearance being made from the rodan suit, and used more orange in the color scheme to show it possibly being affected by red bamboo fruit.
I wonder if the Ookondoru and Ebirah ever fought? Maybe thats how my redesign of Ebirah lost its claw?
Redesign of Ebirah from, "Ebirah, Horror of the Deep" (1966).
I based the redesign more on the Final Wars design then the classic suit.
Generally bulked up the body, changed the tail up a bit, brightened up the body with some orange hues (possible from the fruit?) and added some mechanical parts.
The chainsaw claw is based on a craftsman mini chainsaw. I wanted to allude to a little more history for Ebirah, like it had seen some battles, but also I just think it's cool.
I added the mechanical antenna as a way for the red bamboo to track, and possibly influence Ebirah.
