The razor was so sharp Felix felt it as a line of cold on his throat. A gloved hand laced through his hair and as his head was pulled back, he tried and failed to force down a whimper. 

"I wish I could threaten you with death," the Figure said in a voice like hot amber. "Does pain not scare you anymore?" 

Felix was shaking too much to speak. That was answer enough.

The razor dragged and the skin split like silk. Felix's voice drowned in the gurgle of blood. His legs gave out but the grip held him upright.

The Figure let him bleed. The glinting blade tilted and the flesh parted further. Felix sobbed, but soundlessly. His voicebox was in two pieces. 

He crumpled into the wet crimson. The Figure wiped the razor on a handkerchief, then shoved the fabric into the wound just as it began to knit itself closed. Tears trickled down Felix's face, stung sharp in his gasping mouth.
