Okay, fine! Since my last AU post has gained a lot of attention, and I don't know when my crossover comic will be completed, might as well give you all this. This is the best way to describe the characters if everything was close to normal if Poppy never died, but Elliot has skeletons in his closet and Oliver is going to be a nightmare.
Note: I do have some other cool stuff coming, including a special story I'm working on.

As I'm working on a crossover comic, and for those who like the Poppy Lived AU, I'll leave you all something to enjoy. An AU where no living toys were a thing, YAY! But it comes with a catch. NO! Think of that Tree House of Horror episode, where Homer Simpson accidentally time-traveled to the past when Dinosaurs were still alive. Still, Homer caused chaos that messed everything up in the future, to the point that he went back and forth to return to a normal reality, and the closest he got was having his family with reptilian tongues. It's the best way to describe this AU, as some of you might be able to tell, I took inspiration from Mouse: P.I. for Hire.
This might change over time if my theory is correct or not regarding Rich Lovitz, or whether the Kid employee he was talking to is the Player/Poppy's Angel/Playtime Butcher. At this point, it's just a guess. All I can say about Elliot Ludwig's little found family is WORST FOUND FAMILY EVER!!!
I really need Rich to be the protagonist of PPT, and I loved this image. I mean, I think I get it, I think, but I also think about the "parents of the franchise," and literally, Elliot, Harley, and Rich (yes, him too) could be total disasters as parents if they wanted to, maybe even in an au xD
Thank you! I’m too part of the ‘Player is Rich’ camp. If not Rich, then Kid, since Mob's recent post hinted we could be playing as a low-ranking employee. Yes, this is an AU I thought about: if everything were close to normal, Poppy is alive and a (probably single) mother, but Elliot still made some shady deals that are now coming back to haunt him, and Oliver might do something horrible. And they're dragging Rich, Poppy, and Harley, along with them! AKA, poor Kid, Quinn, and Violet (Poppy's daughter)! So yes, Elliot, Poppy, Harley, and Rich are total disasters as parents in this AU, and nobody is ready for what's to come as it's mind games gone wrong.
I love the idea of an AU where Poppy lived her normal life and had a daughter. The fact that Elliot, Poppy, Harley, and Rich get dragged into those shady dealings is really something I love, hahaha. I can imagine their group trying to survive/escape what's coming, but I can also imagine the children trying to escape however they can, even though they're the youngest.
On another note, I'll stick with the idea that Rich is Player. I don't know, I have a feeling about it, but if he turns out to be Kid, that's fine too, and I like it (but I'm leaning more towards Rich xD).
Yep! It seems perfect, but it came with a different price tag and a different set of stressors and horrors. It's Starkids' Hatchetfield Series all over again (which takes place in Michigan, where Poppy Playtime also takes place)! Alternate Universes where the horrors and characters' fates differ in each universe. And like you pointed out, nobody is spared regardless of age.
Oh, believe me, I got the gut feeling as well, no matter what happens. XD

Quick Poppy Playtime post, but I don’t know if anyone has noticed this yet. I was reading a story and came across the character summaries for House of Leaves (FYI, the story is 18+ and not suitable for younger readers, so I will not be going into details as I'm keeping this blog SFW) that probably inspired Quinn’s last name, Navidson. The partner of one of the main characters, Will Navidson, is named Karen Green. In Poppy Playtime, there’s Lily Lovebraids, who was once Gracie Green. Yeah, the lead counselor in the Wellness & Integration whose videos will give you nightmares. I had to do a double-take when I read Karen Green's name! Makes me wonder if this was another easter egg added to the game. Maybe inspiration? Maybe foreshadowing?
When Chapter 5 dropped, I really wanted to make a theory post after my Analysis and New Theories Post, especially regarding Lieth Pierre and his connection with the Ludwig Family. Because we REALLY need to talk about this, and I've only seen one person post about this. So I'm also going to talk more about this. Since Mod Entertainment's recent post, I believe Chapter 6 will really focus on the tragedy of the Ludwig Family, Leith Pierre's connection to the family, and why Leith did what he did. We do know Pierre did the experiments for greed and profit, but is that just surface-level? If anyone wants to add on to this post, be free to do so! If you'd like to turn this into a theory video, please contact me so I can be credited appropriately. Thank You! Major Game Spoilers Down Below!
If you look around the Data Center at the end of Chapter 5, you'll find a journal entry by Leith Pierre that I am including in this post.
PLOT TWIST! LEITH AND POPPY KNEW EACH OTHER BEFORE SHE WAS TURNED INTO A TOY!!! Even Leith was shocked that the toy was her and she recognized him years ago. This revelation could mean two things: Either Leith knew Poppy while working for Elliot, or they were childhood friends/besties. And get this: Poppy and Leith share the same initials reversed. Poppy Ludwig, P.L., Leith Pierre, L.P. In a way, Leith and the Prototype are both the Skeksis to Poppy's Mystic (YES! I am comparing this twist to The Dark Crystal), and Leith Pierre's name was actually a foreshadowing hint to Poppy's true full name this entire time! Currently, we don't know how old Leith is or his origins, except that he was Head of Innovation and led the company into corruption. However, in a video, Leith's voice actor, Robin Nelson (AKA Xycron), confirmed that Cave Johnson from the Portal franchise inspired Leith Pierre's voice. Robin describes the following at 5:26-5:42 into the video:
How I became Leith Pierre! - YouTube
"the third thing they (Mob Entertainment) asked me to do, which was portray a cave Johnson-like character that's always haunting the narrative and pestering the player from afar."
For context, for those who have or haven't played the Portal games. Cave Johnson was a founder of Aperture Fixtures, a shower-curtain manufacturer, who later turned the company into Aperture Science, a scientific research company. The company then invented the Handheld Portal Device and hired volunteers, and later forced employees to test their inventions, with results that led to injury and death. Even the underground caverns in the Portal games are very similar to Playtime Co.'s underground caverns. Around the same time, Cave would have a relationship with his secretary, Caroline. Years later, Cave would die from toxic moon rocks. However, before Cave's death, he was trying to find a way to cheat death and have his brain put into a computer. If he does not live to see that day, he requested that, either with or without consent, Caroline's brain be put into the computer. Long story short, Cave dies, Caroline is forced to become the antagonistic GLaDOS, who then gasses everyone at Aperture to death except for one girl, Chell, who may or may not be Cave's and Caroline's daughter, and becomes the protagonist of the Portal games.
Coincidence? I Think Not! Based on the information I have gathered, I can break this down into two possible theories.
Theory 1: Backstabbing Family Friend
Leith Pierre knew the family because he had worked for them for years as he rose through the company ranks. It would be how he met Poppy Ludwig. He could've been the uncle figure to the young girl until her unfortunate death. Since there was no heir when Elliot Ludwig died and his daughter, Poppy Ludwig, was no longer around, Leith took charge to fill in for him. However, when the Prototype and Poppy Playtime experiments were discovered, it set off a downward spiral in Leith Pierre's villain arc, as he greenlit the Bigger Bodies Initiative to turn orphan kids into living toys when Playtime began facing financial hardships. Strangely, Leith had no idea about the research being conducted before Elliot Ludwig's death, and possibly about the Young Geniuses Program. Though Pierre was not yet an executive, it could explain why he didn't know. But this leads to my second theory.
Theory 2: The Fourth Child Ludwig Failed and Turned Into A Monster
Now here is the theory I'm dreading that could come true. Given Elliot Ludwig's track record as a horrible father figure, it would not be surprising if he took in a fourth child like Leith Pierre and taught him at a young age to fill the role Poppy Ludwig would've had. Sadly, there would be consequences in doing so, as Leith would grow up to be a greedy monster. But why Leith? Perhaps there was a chance Poppy and Leith knew each other as kids, either at school, or because both Leith and Poppy's families worked together at the factory and befriended each other that way. Whatever happened when Poppy died hit Leith hard, and Elliot Ludwig might have taken pity on Leith, so they both grieved together. It would then explain why Leith had no idea about the experiments or the Young Geniuses Program. The only issue would be why Leith was already Head of Innovation when Elliot Ludwig died. The only thing I can think of is that Ludwig gave Leith a leg up, and that's why Leith rose quickly through the ranks at Playtime Co.
As far as we know, Harley Sawyer's pet project was focused on cloning someone and/or their conscience. Regarding which theory is true, was Leith trying to find a way to turn Poppy back into a human, either make a new human body for Poppy, or force someone to swap brains with the Poppy Doll? For the latter, could Leith have wanted to use someone like Stella Greyber, and did Stella find out Leith was going to backstab her as he did to Harley Sawyer? Did the Prototype find out what was going to happen from someone like Stella and decide to cause the Hour of Joy to keep his control over Poppy? No matter what's going on here, the golden path on this yellow brick road leads back to Poppy.
Currently, we don't know what happened to Leith Pierre. Either we're going to get a tape on how that idiot died, or the Prototype decided to make that same idiot into an example and gave the same Lily Lovebraids treatment to Leith Pierre, but worse. If the latter, then there's a chance Player will have to take down Leith-turned-experiment with the help of Doctor Harley Sawyer and Giblet.
The story of Poppy Playtime is about people/experiments trying to decide the fate of a young girl turned into a living, immortal toy, and refusing to let her rest in peace. Especially those who were once close to Poppy. Whatever it is Leith Pierre was trying to do, either he saw her as a niece or a childhood friend he missed dearly, Leith, you are just messed up, just like the Prototype is! And just like the character, Cave Johnson, you were inspired by!
As I'm working on a crossover comic, and for those who like the Poppy Lived AU, I'll leave you all something to enjoy. An AU where no living toys were a thing, YAY! But it comes with a catch. NO! MY GOODNESS! After a recent post from Mob, I'm starting to believe my theory that Kid grew up to become the Playtime Angel/Butcher is coming true! Rich probably convinced Kid not to come to work that day, or he knew the Hour of Joy was coming, or he didn't, but he didn't want Kid at that particular promotion meeting as backup. Could Rich have been turned into a Toy by the Prototype? Maybe Gentle John, if that newsletter turns out to be fake? I plan to update my theory on this.

I saw the Backrooms last weekend, and it's a very ironic experience for me. I've been seeing posts from people who were watching the movie in near-empty/abandoned malls that are still open because of their theatres. The theatre I went to see it at wasn't part of a mall, but it was a popular movie theatre when I was growing up. Still, it suddenly shut down when the company that owned it faced financial struggles and when the pandemic happened (I won't disclose who for privacy reasons, not to reveal where I live).
The movie theatre was abandoned for years, and the building and parking lot gave off an eerie vibe until it was bought by another movie theatre chain, which completely renovated the building's interior and exterior and reopened it. Now it draws large crowds on good days. The original 90s version of the movie theatre is gone, but I'm glad it's back in operation, as it is a very nice place. Far different from the time when the entire building was abandoned years ago, standing still in time like it was part of the Backrooms itself.

As I promised, a few rough sketches of the Ludwig family, if none of the illegal experimentations didn't happen, if Poppy Ludwig didn't suddenly pass away, and was not reincarnated into a doll. These are not final designs; I created them before I started my other important projects.
First off, Elliot Ludwig is still alive in the 1990s, but the clock is ticking as he's nearing his final days. What does that mean? Every executive in Playtime Co. will have to decide if they're going to take advantage of a possible power grab or watch a disaster unfold. Especially if Poppy Ludwig, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Playtime Co., will take the reins from her (adopted) father, hand the reins to someone else, or sell the company entirely. Elliot probably didn't go down the rabbit hole of horrible deeds, but he still made questionable deals that will haunt him before death does his part, for sure.
For Oliver (Ollie) Ludwig, he's a now scientist at Playtime Co. in this AU, but a troublesome one. His antics get so bad that when the previous Head Scientist up and quit, Elliot had to ask Leith Pierre to send a letter to a former member of the Young Geniuses Program, Harley Sawyer, to come back to keep Ollie under control. When the news broke that Ollie's adoptive father was dying, he started going downhill to the point that he started his villain arc. Oliver would rather destroy livelihoods like Leith Pierre's to make sure nobody tears his only family apart.
Since Poppy has grown up dealing with adults acting like children in this AU, her daughter, whom I'm calling Violet Ludwig, is filling in some of the roles in befriending some of the orphans. Don't worry, Poppy is also involved in the story like she is in the game. However, Violet is dealing with personal family issues when her mother might need to become the CEO of Playtime Co., Adoptive Grandpa Elliot is now dying, and Uncle Ollie is having a slow burn breakdown that just might burn the factory down. If Violet's anxiety levels aren't that bad already, one day, while in her grandfather's office, she finds some mysterious adoption papers and a contract, and she discovers the biggest family secret that might blow up into a scandal that involves one of the most dangerous families in the state. Will the Ludwigs survive the worst times of their lives, or will this found family crack like a little broken porcelain doll?
A while back, I made an AU sketch of Poppy Ludwig if she lived and had a normal life, AKA no experimental crimes against humanity. However, Poppy would unfortunately have to deal with an Hour of Joy where all the adults are fighting each other like it was a scene out of Mean Girls, Oliver's epic crash-out, being a mother (not sure if she's single or married in this AU yet) of a daughter with anxiety issues, getting the world's worst haircut, and Poppy's and Oliver's adopted father, Elliot Ludwig, being close to death. No matter the universe, Poppy can't catch a break!
In this AU, I might consider this idea too, unless we get any other lore reveals on Poppy's past. Rumor has it that Poppy is indeed the biological daughter of Elliot Ludwig. How? According to gossip, after Elliot's wife divorced him, he began dating another woman in private who worked in the Innovation Department during Playtime's World War II days and was from a wealthy family well known in the area. But suddenly, the woman left her job and Elliot out of the blue, and a month later, she wasn't seen by anyone who knew her since. One unexpected night, a group of people showed up at Elliot's home with a baby and some paperwork, saying, "Here! It might be yours since the mother is dead. Don't you DARE say anything about that thing being related to us, or we'll ruin you!"
Nobody has evidence to prove the rumors, and Poppy lives in bliss, assuming she's adopted. But little does she know that her own daughter is about to discover the biggest family secret that might blow up into a scandal. Will Playtime Co. in this AU survive its Chaos Years?
I might do a few more sketches and a family portrait of the Ludwig Family in this AU, but I won't do much with this AU until we get more lore, and if I have time. All I can imagine is that the orphan characters and Poppy's daughter in this AU end up finding themselves in conspiracies or circumstances where they play roles in Oliver's Hour of Joy plans, whether they know it or not. Otherwise, this AU was fun to play with.
Sorry, I was away for a while due to life events, a road trip, and playing a certain game that IGN said was "too cheesy". To politely say this in a safe work environment, FORGET what IGN is saying, this game is a solid 8.5/10 for me! The cheesy jokes are the best parts of the game, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU GUYS SAYING IT'S "TOO CHEESY" WHEN IT'S A GAME ABOUT CARTOON MICE!!! If anyone here loves My Friendly Neighborhood, you'll love Mouse: P.I. For Hire. The same goes for Mouse: P.I. For Hire fans, you'll also love My Friendly Neighborhood. Enjoy this meme in the meantime, while I do a crossover comic of Gordon O'Brian and Jack Pepper. Stay Tuned!

Hope everyone has had a wonderful day so far. And for something that goes well with this day, have a living Poppy Ludwig, if she lived and had a normal life, AKA no experimental crimes against humanity. HALLELUJAH! In this AU, however, Poppy would unfortunately have to deal with an Hour of Joy that was a scene out of Mean Girls, Ollie's crash-out, and Elliot Ludwig close to death. No matter the universe, Poppy can't catch a break! Everyone, have Poppy in your thoughts and prayers. She's going to need it.
