Always had a hunch.

Cancer diagnosis? Crickets.

Discovering a half-sister? Crickets.

I'm sick to death of always listening to their problems, asking how they're doing, etc. only to get zero consideration or concern in return. It's not just one or two people, either. It's literally everyone.

But they did. They got exactly what they wanted. The gave up their selfish happy ending together because Crowley's greatest wish was non-interference from Heaven. He wanted true free will for humans, and Aziraphale--understanding how much that meant to Crowley--agreed that it was worth giving up eternity to see Crowley happy...even just for those few moments before they blinked out of existence.

Just because they didn't get to spend eternity together doesn't mean they didn't get a happy ending. They just didn't get the happy ending you were hoping for.

Would I have rather seen them get eternity? Absolutely, but that would subvert Crowley's own desire. What they did was completely selfless; a concept most humans have trouble fully grasping. Being mad about that seems...super counterintuitive to the whole concept of free will.
