But yeah no I’m actually so mad NBC cancelled Brilliant Minds. This beautiful, heartfelt show about mental health, trauma, trust, mental illness, neurological problems, ESPECIALLY about the stigmatized things in these categories, this gorgeous exploration of re-humanizing mental patients that ALSO had BIPOC main characters and a TON of really fun queer rep… and NBC said no, actually, fuck all of you, and shut it down. I’m so ready to throw hands about this, show me the petition to bring it back NOW.
Watched the Brilliant Minds finale and fuck I'm going to miss this show so much 😭
But I'm going to focus on what I loved. Because while I'm sad about never getting the story lines/character arcs that were being set up, it was still an absolutely banger episode that had me doing this the whole time
-The plot of Wolf treating Josh's dad. I think it really highlighted Wolf's empathy and what makes him such a great doctor. It gave some fun callbacks to previous episodes and lots of chances for Josh to look at Wolf with the biggest heart eyes
-Number One Wolf/Nichols shipper Nico's only concern being what this means for the Wichols "will they, won't they saga" and spilling the tea about Beau's proposal to Josh
-the whole scene of Dana finding out her rebound one night stand is Wolf's sister. Dana's "oh fuck" look, Erika dropping the files she's holding, Charlie and Nico's shared "omg girl" look, Charlie's adorable "God I love this job". Oh baby queers of Bronx General (and your token straight), I think I will miss you most of all
-Dana and Van helping Erika get the courage to talk to her probable birth mother. And being there for her when it doesn't go the way she wanted (it was also nice to see Van one last time)
-The baseball scene. Just all of it, but particularly the Charlie/Nico flirting and Josh finally getting recognition/support from his dad
And of course the big one - MY DADS ARE BACK TOGETHER (and fucking all over that hospital; the hyperbaric chamber one took me OUT)

oliver, josh and carol needed a break for many reasons, they very much deserved a vacation, and the thing they mostly needed a break from was the new york fucking winter!

P.s. Thank you Brilliant Minds for confirming that Josh has been in love with Oliver this entire fucking time pretty much since he first laid eyes on him, it never felt like a choice but more like a calling, and that Josh really doesn't care what his life brings him as long as Oliver is part of it.

Some of my fav things about brilliant minds is how the logo/cover photo highlights the M and D in “minds” (like MD medical doctor) and the edges of the screen are blurry (kinda like his face blindness)

This is my contribution of the heartfelt Brilliant minds send offs because this show means so so much to me and I will never ever stop watching it and loving it. I knew from the first episode that this show was unlike anything I had ever watched before and I was immediately hooked, and through that time it has helped me through so many dark places. I see so much of myself in Wolf and watching him grow emotionally throughout the show has helped me heal in so many ways I never even thought a show could do for someone.
Brilliant minds is such an important show for people everywhere and everyone should watch it in their lifetimes, just thinking about all it has done for me and the people who watch it is making me cry💔 I want to sit here and mope about what could have been because it’s honestly all I can think about but instead I want to hang on to what it accomplished and what it meant to all of us, and it’s important never to give up hope for a season 3. I just need to remind myself that it was here and it is still here for all who need it. (And in a world of really bad finales this one does not fall into that category)
I will still be BIG into the fandom so I hopefully will post more and me and my friend are discussing a possible fanfiction so stayed tuned guys and have a good day fam🫶
