Abasto Shopping Mall, former Abasto Market. Originally built in 1893, it was radically renovated and enlarged in 1934 by Viktor Sulčič, José Luis Delpini and Raúl Bes.
In 1998 the former market became a shopping mall, a project that involved the following studios: Manteola-Sánchez Gomez-Santos-Solsona-Salaberry (MSGSSS), Benjamin Thompson Architects and Pfeifer-Zurdo.

I saw a similar picture earlier today, and thought I should post it. This is for those of you who imagine a few ships being stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. (God knows the intel coming out of the White House can't be trusted.) This will give you an idea of just how many ships are actually stranded there, with NO CONCEPT OF HOW LONG THEY WILL HAVE TO REMAIN.

AKA "The Toilet Bowl," just west of Tyson's Corner Shopping Center on VA 123, a major route through Fairfax County, VA. A company run by some in-laws used to be just across the road, and I saw the building frequently. It was an attempt to build something more than a simple boxy office building in the Washington, DC metropolitan area where minimum cost per square meter construction was the primary driver of aesthetics. Lots of boxes were built prior to 1985, few of them memorable, and now many are meeting the wrecking ball as inadequate provision of utilities renders them unrentable.

Segovia, Spain 🇪🇸
Segovia is a historic city in central Spain, known for its rich past and well-preserved monuments.
It was originally settled by Celtic tribes and later became an important Roman city. Its most famous landmark, the Aqueduct of Segovia, was built in the 1st century AD and is one of the best-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world.
During the Middle Ages, Segovia flourished under Christian rule after being reconquered from Muslim control in the 11th century. It became a royal city, symbolized by the fairy-tale-like Alcázar of Segovia, which served as a palace and fortress.
Today, Segovia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, admired for its history, architecture, and cultural significance.
