i noticed its such a thing in fanfic ESPECIALLY when it comes to draco specifically (!!) where ‘oh its years later & obviously the most natural conclusion for all male characters is to grow into masculinity’ hence muscles posh presentation via suits & slacks etc but if the growth of character goes the other way around OUTSIDE of prescript masculinity the response will most likely always be ‘oh u turned him ooc why does the fandom always make him weak’ despite the fact that the actions are still, if not more, legibly draco ie prideful, witty, relational, etc… if fandom actually cared abt ooc they’d complain about draco pushing tackling ppl down when his methods of violence r indirect & verbal & arguably feminine catty, making his body toned & muscled when the text clearly consistently describes him as ‘skinny’ … ‘oh its just cuz harrys or whoevers biased cuz they hate him but when they like him they wont call him skinny anymore’ but we’ll stay loyal to other descriptions such as sleek white hair, pale skin cuz those r traits we can manipulate into ‘aristocratic’ & ’respectable’ masculinity
