Because the thing is Robin and Steve are both the kind of autistic person that has boundaries for other people’s sake. They mentally remind themselves that ‘okay this is an inside thought because no one wants to know about how my nose hair itches’. But after starcourt there was a conversation about how much TMI is actually okay and it turns out anything’s game. They’ve bought sex toys together in Indy, and they know what each other are into, just like how they know each other’s favorite movies.

They share deodorant and don’t really understand why they get weird looks cause it’s literally just deodorant? Yeah you don’t share with a stranger cause you don’t know how clean they are but Steve and Robin are painfully aware of each other’s hygiene. They have showered together platonically.

The only reason they don’t share gum is because Steve keeps it too long and sucks the flavor out of it so there’s no point. They share drinks and steal each other’s food though.

Robin announces “Steve I’m gonna die!” One day about to tell him a girl maybe flirted with her and Steve just goes

“Robbie we agreed that mole by your armpit is the same size it was last month so no, you’re fine.” Without even looking up from the veggie plate he’s making for the kids.

The one of the main reasons Dustin is appalled that they aren’t dating is because there’s been multiple times when Robin excuses herself to the bathroom at Steve’s and heads for the same one Steve is using to shower and Dustin’s like ‘wow they’re not even subtle’ meanwhile Steve’s washing his hair and bitching at Robin like “okay thank fuck I left the window, open now walk me through your thought process of eating four burritos you knew wouldn’t agree with you.” And Robin’s whining from the toilet that Steve was supposed to stop her, obviously.

Robin is also Steve’s “I have a weird question and I want to ask but it feels invasive to ask a gay stranger in Indy” person and Robin is both nosy as hell and also likes explaining things. She’s also trying to help him out of the closet but it’s a bit of the blind leading the blind so instead of just opening the door it’s more like they’re digging a tunnel with spoons prison break style. It’s the 1980s. Steve is Robin’s “hey if I get AIDS/kicked out it’s ur job to go through my room and get all my lesbian erotica/sex toys before my parents find it” friend. When Steve finally comes out Robin is that friend for him too

Robin also has horrible anxiety and Steve is her emotional support “fuck it we ball” best friend. Robin overthinks and Steve often underthinks, acting on impulse and unintentionally forcing Robin to pick a decision to commit to.

My beloved second favourite child (first is dc obv) and self-indulgent fix-it. Post-rotj Luke gets sent back to the clone wars era (post-mortis) and saves the galaxy with the power of love and friendship, featuring fialleril’s tatooine slave religion lore, less clone deaths (pong krell when I catch you), and as much skywalker family bonding as I can reasonably fit in here (including leia, who’s very upset her brother got isekaid and is actively hunting him down)

I’ve got tons of notes for this thing and approx 17k written so far (though it’s going through editing again…). I should probably rewatch a few key episodes of tcw (and maybe the original trilogy, but that’s more self-indulgent than necessary for the writing process) but even with the parallel timelines it should be pretty straightforward* if I just lock in

2. star wars chatfic/social media au that’s also a conclave au

Pure crack (treated (mostly) seriously), where fans of child prodigy podracer anakin skywalker discover what their fave’s been up to when they spot him in some clone wars propaganda (and promptly start investigating), while at the same time the supreme chanceller drops dead of a heart attack in the middle of a speech and padme is stuck with the job of locking down the senate so they can elect his replacement. Sure hope no one finds anything weird

This one would require a little more locking in bc I’ve got the very broad strokes down but I was a little handwavy about the logistics when I first started planning and it’s biting me in the ass. However. It’s really funny

3a) another self-indulgent time travel au where the starklings (and some friends) get to girlboss their way into an independent north and, like, saving westeros or whatever

3b) the. well. it’s an omegaverse au but it’s by me so of course the lore is more complicated than that. extremely bare bones: southroners are normal, northerners have secondary genders, and the targaryens lay eggs but☝️only with each other (or in the case of a certain jon snow, with northerners bc of the aforementioned weird biology). Basically this is just an excuse to have jon hatch from an egg bc it has me near tears every time I think about it (“how did rhaegar get lyanna pregnant with an egg” well actually she’s an alpha so SHE got HIM pregnant)

I love both of these aus dearly of course but the problem is I’ve only seen the show, except I want to use book lore so. I need to read the books. As I’m sure you can imagine either of these would require significantly more locking in than the first two fics I listed. Alas
