i like how akira akira tendo and is not only optimistic about an entire apocalypse happening before his eyes but i enjoy the idea of him seeing it more as a way to finally figure out who he is as a person rather than seeing it as a nightmare but more like a dream he's been waiting to have. ever since he worked in an exploitative office job for 3 years, the world got duller and duller each time he was overworked regardless of how much he got paid and the fact that he felt as if he was obligated to stay made it relatable especially in an economy where getting a job is harder than it is, especially with getting an actual career rather than a part time. though when he was younger he always had this fixed mindset on wanting to work in the big city in order to impress his folks and also his friends from college. he also wanted to be realistic with himself and wanted to be successful in the long run. he also gave the company he worked for the benefit of the doubt especially since this is what he "thought" he wanted to do in life. with that, he didn't have the freedom he yearned for because of the fact he wanted to not necessarily leave the country side he grew up in, but also just prove to his parents that that's what he wanted. but after the zombie apocalypse happened, he realized that he never wanted to work in an office job and throughout the manga, there's no necessary plot to what he wants to do, only the fact that he WANTED to do what HE WANTED!

SPECIFICS:

- his true reasons to do 100 things before he died is for him to fully see the world especially since he's only 24 years old at the beginning of the manga, which is considerably young compared to his colleagues in the office he worked for.

- also considering how every chapter is almost considered "random", that's another thing I enjoy about the story and how akira BUILDS on his character, to show that there should be no limit to what you want to do in life

- though it is unrealistic, it's still inspiring to people that still don't know what they want to do in life, and actually I have related to his character heavily.
