He had packed what he would need and remained in his Starfleet gear on the trip, robes left on the ship, wishing to stand with Jim as a pillar of familiarity during this, rather than changing when the human might need him as Spock the most.

                             Inside the Vulcan cafe, Kirk looked around and instantly felt out of place. He was the only human. What Spock probably didn’t realize was that Kirk understood and spoke the language well enough. Kirk took the liberty of going up to the counter and ordering a tea that sounded delicious. With the tea in hand, Kirk turned to Spock and posed a question. ❝Is it alright if I talk about your mother? I won’t, if you don’t want me to–❞                             Of course, the last time Kirk brought Spock’s mother up, it’d been to antagonize him and landed him in a choke hold. Now, Kirk was more than curious about Vulcan and human relations.  

I am two away from one hundred and nearing my fifth year on tumblr (as a whole, not this account). But, this is near my tenth year online. Half my life spent in the world of coding and humanization and creativity which has literally built me into the human being that I am today. I rant bellow, but please, keep this link on repeat, or at least listen to it once.

Him. Well, unless Jim snuck down and bonded with a random Vulcan during the rescue, he could only think of one other Vulcan and his heart sped up. His elder self made a bond with Jim? That both infuriated and confused him, but he stamped it all down.

“Indeed it is a two way thing. But if it is causing you harm like this, Jim, and they are unable to reach you for whatever reason, I do believe they would rather you do what is best for your continued survival. Bonds like this can be formed of misplaced remembrance or a high enough emotional and mental fluctuation due to age, past experiences, what they share during a mind meld or perhaps simply from abandonment. Each Vulcan is different and these are merely the most prominent ones on hand.” he explained calmly, remaining as impassive as he could but it faltered as he flashed a look around the empty hall and focused intently on Jim.

“Though they may seem important to you Jim, I would rather not see you die for good. Doctor McCoy cannot use his medicine to work miracles on a malformed Vulcan bond tearing your mind apart. Any Vulcan whom truly cares about the one they choose to bond with would never desire this to happen. The circumstances of the bond’s creation must have been rough, strained and tangled up as they entered your mind. But I can assure you, this was not their intentions.” Spock felt he needed to defend his elder - if it truly was the Ambassador - and shifted.

“Please Jim. Take some time to think, but you do not have long to debate. I cannot lose you, not again.” he said and with that he turned to continue towards their shift, barely containing his rampant thoughts on the matter from being revealed on his features.

                               While it did surprise the crew that Kirk and Spock decided to take their acquired shore leave together without much notice, it was fairly easy for them to leave the Enterprise. The ship would be fine for a few days without them; it was participating in the arduous task of star mapping for its next assignment. Besides, Kirk doubted that Spock would want to stay on New Vulcan longer than necessary. Kirk would have preferred going to New Vulcan alone, but he didn’t want to press the issue with Spock. His First Officer’s over protective vibe hadn’t gone unnoticed to Kirk. Regardless of Spock’s company on the trip, Kirk fully intended to find the elder Spock or ask an experienced healed to mend his mind; anyone but his Spock would do– Spock just didn’t know that.

                               ❝Is this your first time here?❞ Kirk asked uncertain about how Spock had spent his time before they started their 5 Year Mission.

Spock narrowed his eyes at Jim, silently questioning him but he took a moment to think. “Unless the Vulcan can get here in the next hour, the likely hood of you being able to function like a normal human is slim. There is a way to extend this without creating anything permanent… However, it is something marginally personal and… Invasive, if you will.” Spock said, ignoring the faintest heat he can feel building under his skin.

“If it ensures you live, I will do it only under your consent, but to explain, I would form a mild bond with you. Then, when we connect with the Vulcan you had created the original bond with, I can break the bond and aid them in creating a more substantial bond, if you so wish. If you did not desire the bond to begin with, then we will head to New Vulcan to sever the malformed bond breaking.” he explained in that calm, matter-of-fact tone, hiding the slight distress under his skin at the thought of losing Jim.

And mild jealousy that Jim bonded with another. Again, odd.

                               ❝This is, uh, really personal.❞ Kirk replied looking insecure, shifting his feet from left to right. He wasn’t supposed to tell Spock that another version of him existed, but he couldn’t imagine how the elder Spock would feel about him dying either. ❝But you’re saying I have the option of going to New Vulcan… That sounds like enough time to fix this?❞

                               ❝I’m not sure if I want to keep the bond.❞ Kirk explained, only half lying. He would have to stall until he knew what he wanted. Besides feeling more exhausted than usual, he found comfort in experiencing the alternate relationship with Spock in his dreams. It wasn’t as if Kirk had foresight to the ‘future’; frankly Kirk couldn’t see his Spock being that tender with him. The dreams were never risqué, they just made him feel complete? Wow, did that sound pathetic, because the dreams would never be more than vicarious fulfillment. Kirk was being selfish and he sighed loudly at that internal admittance. He would have to end it, out of responsibility to his well-being (which mattered to the livelihood of his crew).

Spock, if he was human, would have rolled his eyes, instead, his eyes hardened and his lips pursed into a faint line as he thought his words over carefully.

But it has caused a poorly made Vulcan bond to form in your mind, and due to it’s poor creation, lack of care and growth along with the inability to be sustained, it has broken. A poorly made and now broken Vulcan bond of this magnitude will end your life in a week if it is not taken care of.” Spock said coldly, watching the man and feeling some part of him flutter in mild panic at the thought of Jim dying, but his face showed nothing.

Odd.

                               ❝A Vulcan bond?❞ Kirk repeated the words slowly, he was experiencing shock. Vulcan bonds were not discussed greatly in anthropology class, but he understood the as a form of love for the species. ❝I thought Vulcans considering bonding to be highly private. Isn’t this a rather presumptuous conversation to be having with me?❞

Spock understood exhaustion, he had gone through it a few times unbeknownst to his captain, however he also knew when one showed signs of a broken, poorly made bond.

“Sir, with all due respect, I am a Vulcan and highly trained in telepathy and connections between beings through their minds. You are putting yourself at risk of damaging your mind and death if you persist to brush this off.” Spock said sharply, eyes narrowing a fraction.

“Something happened with you that you have not confided in me with. He wasn’t sure when he blacked out, but when he woke up he had no idea where he was at first nor how he’d gotten to his quarter’s. He went to move and that’s when he touched something… It took him a minute to adjust and that’s when he seen it was John.

His bruised and busted body? That didn’t matter. What mattered was that he failed his brother, failed to protect him. But now? Now he’d kill these bastards if they ever came near his brother again.

The bathwater seemed to set his skin on fire. His brother got in the tub with him to help him wash off and it made Leonard think back to when they’d take baths together as kids.

He opened his eyes briefly and looked down to the water… It was a sick pinkish-red color from the blood… He tried to ignore it, and his eye’s went up to his brothers as he hugged him and apologized.

“S’okay, J” he whispered weakly. “I don’ want you to worry about me… M’good… T’jus roughed me up.”

Leonard reached for the toilet, missing at first. He felt John’s arm’s wrap around him just before he grasped the edge of the toilet and pulled himself up to it. He unloaded all of the contents from his stomach, which left him dry heaving since nothing was left from where he hadn’t been eating much.

He was shaking, he couldn’t breath, and with that he collapsed back into John with no energy left. It was then that he realized everything seemed to shift, his head was fuzzy and slowly everything was fading.

He tried to speak, unsure if anything came out. He was trying to tell John something, anything.. trying to get his attention, but nothing happened.

“You can run to my bedroom an’ get a hypo for nausea.” He instructed.

“Take your time…” He rasped. “Trus’ me.”

“Right here, Leo. You’re going to be okay now. I’ll be right here.” John took his brother’s hand, following closely as he was taken into a bedroom, then to a connected bathroom and gently laid out on the spacious floor.

He was hot now, burning up and ready to fall asleep. Leonard inhaled sharply and looked to his brother with a silent plead for help.

“M'think’ll feel better once m'clean, J.” He said quietly.

Jim had made quick work at getting undressed out of his gold command shirt and the black slacks that he wore, once that was done he made quick work at putting his sweat pants and black shirt from the Academy on.

A happy smile graced the blonds lips at how far him and Spock had come as friends to lovers and soon to be bond mates. The thought made him even more happy and a little worried that Spock would regret his decision later on in his life. He quickly pushed it to the back of his mind so whenever he started making his way towards the shared bathroom, that Spock wouldn’t be able to pick up on that part of his feelings or thoughts.

Spock knew Jim well, and it didn’t take a telepathy user to know his self-doubts. Which is why the Vulcan aimed to Show Jim just how much he meant to the halfling. When he heard Jim enter he turned, eyes smiling as he took in the potentially everyday academy gear, making his heart melt anew.

He’d rather no other.

This was probably the worst pick-up line Khan had ever heard in his entire life, but yet it didn’t push him away at all. Although it was amusing and almost made him giggle he appreciated the words, the corners of his lips curled into a smirk as he cocked an eyebrow and observed the other for a second.

“There are other lonely parts of my body who would like to meet your lips as well.”

Leonard almost preened under the praise, all nervousness falling away and he really got into it. He nipped and kissed just shy of the hole before diving back in, thumbs pressing at the edges of the ring of muscle, one slipping in slightly with his tongue.

Khan was amazing, his body perfect, he felt and tasted like heaven, his voice was his angel’s song and his presence was like the presence of God himself. Divine and untouchable, yet here he was, able to do such a thing to the man.

It drove him crazy.

The thumb slipping inside combined with that cheeky tongue caused Khan to moan deeply this time, body vibrating as his voice rolled through it, legs spread wantonly so Leonard had better access. Oh yes, Khan enjoyed this thoroughly, liked that nice wet friction down there, his skin so sensitive, tight hole twitching in need as his cock did.

“I will prepare some tea.” Spock said, the idea of drinking rather than being able to touch his to be mate was frustrating, but he found the idea of sharing a rare Vulcan drink with his intended far more rewarding.

Patience. That is what he needed.

He moved to his room and his wardrobe and pulled out his robes, wanting to both be at ease and have his mate see all sides of him.

“Thanks Spock.” Jim gave Spock a quick kiss before turning and walking towards the shared bathroom, the blond took another look at the Vulcan and walked into the bathroom that they shared. He had the cheesiest of smiles on his face.

The blond was happy and excited at the same time, which rarely happened.

Once he was in his quarters, the blond made his way towards his chest of drawers and opened the one that kept his sweat pants and a black Academy shirt that he use to wear in his Academy days.

Leonard spasmed slightly, wanting to lash out at Spock for taking his hands away, but he knew the Vulcan was right. He felt the tears under the thick blanket of pain and hissed. “Goddamnit!” he growled out in pain, the end of the word cracking off.

He let himself be controlled by the Vulcan, focusing on calming his breathing before he panicked. He was a doctor, and he couldn’t open his eyes now, feeling like they were sealing shut and he squawked out.

“Spock! Spock, my eyes won’t open! Fuck, it hurts, fucking god damnit!” so much for not panicking, his panic gripping him tightly, his breath ragged and short as he tried to fight the Vulcan’s grip to get at his eyes when he felt the beam grab them from that damned planet.

`•.¸¸.•´´¯` Vulcan held him down trying to keep him still as he panicked, he              sent him calming waves through their physical connection even as              they were beamed up onto the ship. The moment they were there              he helped Leonard up and rushed him down to the Medbay. The              fellow medical officers were with them in moments, setting him              down on one of the cots and tilting his head back so they could              clean his eyes out.

             Spock made sure to keep out of their way, but he still held Leonard’s              hard, partially due to the tight grip the Doctor had on it. He could feel              his pain, his anger, his panic, all of it. “Please, try to relax, Dr. McCoy.”

Leonard felt Spock moving away and he tightened his grip like a vice as hands moved on him. The second one touched his eyes he automatically lashed out with his foot, kicking someone back as he bit back a scream.

“Damnit.” he hissed, Spock’s words irritating him, yet grounding him as they tried to pry his eyes open, only to have him howl in pain.

“Enough!” M’Benga barked, coming over and taking some scans, flapping his hand at the others to move away. “Try to rip his eyes open and you’ll likely pop his eyes in their sockets.” he growled, Leonard instantly relaxing, though he didn’t release Spock’s hand.
