Finals have me absolutely exhausted. Iāve been studying like crazy since classes ended, and I feel like Iām getting nowhere. 2 down, 2 to go.
I was okay for most of the summer semester, sure some days I would have preferred being outside, but finals week is rough. I feel like the last like 3 weeks have been scrambling to get everything done before finals, and the constant work feels like finals have been going on forever, even though Iāve only written 1. Luckily one of my courses was a project course, so Iāve only got 3 finals to go.
Yes, I have finals I need to be studying for, but also, can someone help me figure out how to wear stylish business casual outfits without looking like a crazy person when you work in tech?
Posting great study pics seems like a good idea and great motivation until you remember that itās finals week and youāre living in literal chaos. Loose-leaf everywhere, deciphering terrible lecture slides, and a huge pile of laundry you donāt have time to fold.
I think the only thing Iām doing right is actually drinking enough water.

Iāve been working on being more conscious of how I write emails, and made this handy printable guide! I have a bad habit of overusing exclamation points, emojis, and qualifiers like ājustā and āpossiblyā to sound extra-friendly and non-threatening in emails. (āJust wondering / just confirming / just checking / just making sure / just wanted to let you knowā) You are allowed to take up space. Your voice deserves to be heard. Your opinions matter. You donāt need to apologize for existing or asking for what you need. You are not ābossyā or ābitchyā for not sounding like a pep-machine 24/7. If you act like a doormat, you better develop a taste for shoe leather. You have power too. Donāt be afraid to stand up for yourselfā no one else is gonna do it for you.
Come the fall Iāll be in my last 2 semesters of my degree, and Iām really torn about what I want to do afterward. I canāt decide whether to continue with engineering or to start trying to pursue medicine.Ā
Ugh, I wish I could somehow do both.
I love the pretty little liars classic where all four couples literally hang off each other every time something bad happens as the camera pans out. It's just such a funny thing to watch over and over.
*stops taking notes to take pictures of notes*⦠Christian Worldview is such an interesting class!!
So, at 12 today booking for my spin studio opened for the week, and when I went in to book at 12:20, all the bikes with my favourite instructor were booked.
I was sad for a couple of minutes, but then I figured it was a good opportunity to try a new instructor (on a different day, double yikes) which hopefully will be good!

How is it that every property for rent here is total trash?
Iāve been browsing different websites for several hours, and Iāve yet to see a single nice place. I didnāt even set a price limit. Just everything looks awful, almost like nothing has been built or renovated in the last 20-30 years.
Itās hard to consider living somewhere when thereās nowhere tolerable to actually live.Ā
As someone who uses the ipad pro and iphone x max constantly for school, I tend to dab around looking for the perfect apps to suit my needs and hobbies. If anyone wonders what apps I use for school, here are someĀ āfundamental appsā I pertain to.
schedules and lists:
Calendars 5 - Calendars 5 is complete re-imagining of what the best mobile calendar experience should be. Calendars 5 is smart, excels in both tasks and events and runs on any iOS device you might have. Itās the calendar app you have been looking for.
Taskade - A great organized app that helps you organize your tasks or write simple notes.
Minimalist - a minimalist themed app that lets you list tasks very simple with other functions such as music and scenery to help you focus on those tasks.
timing, relaxing, and focus:
Clock - This is the default app that comes along with your ios device. I would say the functionality in it is very helpful to maintain alarms and a steady sleep schedule with the sleep function!
Tide - The tide app is an amazing peaceful app that lets you choose a time setting for how long you will work with soothing sounds playing in the background. The sounds really do help me focus and I highly recommend this app.
Flat Tomato - This app helps you split your time and measures it. For example, you would work for 25 minutes and then you would have a 5 minute break. This app really helps me with splitting my time and my tasks accordingly.
Forest - The forest app is absolutely great if you need help with staying away and off from your phone. The app grows a tree for up to two hours of constant studying which you would grow your tree in the meantime. If you do go on your phone and switch the app, the tree dies.
Flora - This is an alternative if you cannot or do not want to buy the forest app. It sort of works just like Forest, but you have a small 2D garden rather than a square terrain you see your trees grow on.
Oak -Ā Oak helps the monkey-minded decompress by transforming meditation practices from experiments into habits. We support you from your first session to your 500th, with mindful, loving-kindness, and sleep meditations as well as unguided sessions and breathing exercises. Individualize your meditations by duration, and customize with silence or calming background sounds. Oak tracks your progress and encourages you to continue building a healthy meditation practice.
drawing and art:
Procreate - My absolute favorite app that works so well with art. I draw most of my art work in there and occasionally make headers and calligraphy with it.
Ibis Paint X - This app is the pro version of another art app which has a few advantageous functions than procreate, but nonetheless helps a lot with making some really fine art.
titles and notetaking:
Over - The Over App is perfect to made headers and titles that are easily transferred to the goodnotes app.
Phonto - The Phonto app is another perfect app to make the titles with, but it isnāt easily transferred to the goodnotes app and you would need to save the image as a png to upload it to the page, but there are more fonts you could and you can add a lot of your own fonts as well.
Keynote - I use this app to make folders and planners and this works as a powerpoint but for apple of course. There are a lot of great tutorials that help with making cool planners and notebooks with this app.
Docs - Helps download videos and documents off online through mobile devices and organize files accordingly
Goodnotes - One of my favorite apps I use to take majority of my notes. It helps me organize my courses into different notebooks all in one app.
PDF Expert- I use this app in order to view my textbooks straight from the drives I use and occasionally edit and note take directly on my PDF books.
resources and flashcards:
Chegg - College resource with a flashcard app as well.
Course Hero - Upload documents to open documents related to the courses that you may be taking! Free when you upload your own documents, so try it! Great place to get accurate study guides.
The Khan Academy - App to take practice tests and get guidance on material related to your courses. Great app to get you on track and help you focus!
Quizlet - great app to organize flashcards and practice tests
DuoLingo- A wonderful language app that helps me keep a streak and maintain my language learning.
Periodic Table - This app is what it says it is. The periodic table. As someone whoās major focuses on Chemistry, I really do need this app and hopefully this app is useful for you all as well!
photos and editing:
VSCO - My favorite app that filters and edits images to make them look vintage or clean.
Snapseed - Another editing app with more controls and settings to help edit the images and color in areas to make them brighter or dimmer.
Afterlight 2 - A great editing app that helps add effects and details to images
PicPlayPost - an app that helps with organizing my images into collages or video cropping to make my images look neater. I also use it to edit my watermarks
Analog Seoul -Ā Analog Seoul is the eighth app of Analog Film City Series. With the specially created Analog Seoul photo filters, you can edit your pictures as if they were taken in Seoul.
printing, scanning, and storage:
Printerpro - A great app that helps with printing wireless from your iPad.
Scanner Pro - Scanning documents high quality and upload them to cloud
Drive - The best and foremost easiest storage to use and because I go to school/ university I have unlimited space for my files!
iCloud Drive - I only use this for photos or back ups, but occasionally it works well when I need to transfer files through apps that only use this form of storage.
Dropbox - Another storage application, but I usually use this for items I donāāt really need unless thereās an emergency. I use it to store mostly audio files and heavy files for keynote
entertainment and reading:
Netflix - To watch all my favorite movies and shows
Crunchyroll - I watch all my animes that I can here on this app
Kissanime - of course an alternative to crunchyroll is kissanime if you want to find animes for free (there are ads though)
Youtube - I mainly use this app for tutorials and guides to homework and projects
The CW - I watch all of my favorite local shows like the Flash, DC Legends, and Riverdale on this app for free.
MangaRock - I read most of my mangas on this app
iBooks - the installed app by apple where I transport a lot of my books into for reading and entertainment
VLive - For all my kpop friends, you know what this is for.
To be updatedā¦
I just had a moment
So, on my Netflix account, I have it set to always play French subtitles. It may sound annoying/silly, but I like just always getting a bit of French in my day.Ā
I realized the other day that when you watch something thatās a Netflix original where characters speak in a foreign language, the translation is actually just played in your normal NetflixĀ subtitles, unlike some non-Netflix originals which I think have 2 sets of subtitles.
Today I started the tidying up show, and the subtitles showed up in only French, and I was struggling to follow because I couldnāt translate to English in my head fast enough. Then I remembered Iām fluent in French and donāt have to translate word by word, I can just effortlessly read French and understand itĀ because thatās how languages work. So yeah, Iām dumb, and struggled to translate for waaaayĀ too long.
Heads up!
Iām working on creating a new day-to-day routine for 2019, so Iāll be reblogging a few routine and tip posts over the next little while! Maybe itās wishful thinking, but if I make one that works for me and seems pretty solid (and not crazy) Iāll share it soon. Warning: it may end up being a little computer engineeringĀ centred.
Study routine challenge : morning owls version
Finally I am back in game with my ālong ass postsā although this oneās kinda different from my usual grandma advices, this oneās a routine challenge Iāve been meaning to do for quite a while, so behold : the ultimate morning owls study routine challenge!
Please tag me in your posts pertaining to this challenge because I mostly use tumblr on my phone and itās difficult to find posts here! Thanks!
The rules :
Follow the routine for straight 30 days (no issues if you miss sometime, Iām probably gonna miss too so itās all cool)
Post a pic of your work space (no aesthetic required, just a pic of messy notes/coffee /table/pens/your bun/whatever really) and of course tag me!
In your captions mention one goal/task youāre going to achieve/have achieved today no matter how tiny it is (mine will probs be like āfinish reading 3 paragraphsā or ārewrite notes āxā topicā or āmake flashcards for testā)
Abide by the routine
Be productive :)
The routine :
Wake up time : 6:15am (feel free to modify - our goal is to get up early enough to have time for everything)
Get ready to kick ass by : 6:45am
Study session 1 : 7:10am - 7:40am
Mini food/exercise break : 7.40am - 7:50am
Study session 2 : 7:50am - 8:30am
Break time again : 8:30am - 8:35am
Study session 3 : 8:35am - 9:05am
OR
Wake up time : 6:30am
Study session 1 : 7:00am - 8:00am
Break time : 8:00am - 8:10am
Study session 2 : 8:10am - 9:00am
You could pick any of these schedules, both give you the same time to study aka 110 minutes i.e. around 2 hours. And trust me thatās a great start.
For some reason you need to leave for school/college/work before the schedule finishes, donāt mind at all! You need to be energised for your job first! Try to get the most out of it, but donāt stress a lot!
This is meant to help you, if this stresses you out somehow please donāt follow it. If you want some other version feel free to send me an ask! Thanks ā¤

Hey guys, so Iāve seen some posts around about daily routines so I thought Iād share my own. I consider myself to be great at being productive even early in the morning, and hereās how I achieve that. Hope this is helpful, and feel free to ask me questions if you have any!
Every work term I tell myself I want to actually do something with my free time that makes me a better engineer, but I never do it, which is so frustrating, and I donāt know why I canāt seem to make myself do it.
