Now on the topic of where the fuck Redd would get one, actually have an idea for that! Given the lore of Bing in the ew universe is that he's like an evil mad scientist obsessed breaking the laws of nature in order to make his movies famous and that the aether foundation is hellbent on finding a way to get into ultraspace by basically recreating god.... I think it makes a lot of sense for Bing and Larry to have worked for the aether foundation at some point and stolen a Type: Null along with some other equipment/blueprints in order to help facilitate their cloning operation!

damn thats a good in universe reason. I can see it from this angle, Bing and Larry are like a jessie and james who instead fail upwards into otherwise harmless but nefarious schemes. thats fun, i like that a lot, thats something i can really play in the sand with.

I think at the time when i was thinking about the pokemon au, my main gripe was "how the fuck is redd getting a fucking type:null, in what world would bing allow that." I just didnt see a world where that would happen, or at least not without compromising how I think bing sees the reject clones. you gotta remember, there is like, two of those things in the whole world. how would they even get one if they like, escaped even.

ive been looking at this ask since you sent this and smiling so wide every time i check on it. I tend to have a lot of background headcanons that I try to keep internally consistent, but dont like over explaining (ironic, considering all my meta) due to not wanting to be an arbiter for what is or isnt "correct" fancanon for the clones. big proponent of everyone getting something different from a media and all those interpretations are vaildAJND I WANT TO SEE THEM GIVE ME MORE TOMATOR-
