She has not only spread harmful and stigmatizing information about this disorder, she has caused many wonderful people in many communities to feel hurt, disrespected, and ignored. Feeling real again
Such a large part of our lifes is digital now and I have realised it makes me feel disconnected from my life and the things I make. I’m not saying technology is evil, it is the opposite, especially now. However sometimes it’s necessary to connect to the physical things to feel happier again.
Connect to your body -There are many ways you can connect to your body, here are a few ideas:
Breathing mindfully or meditationg
Working out and generally moving
Dancing
Physical self care
Being naked and sexy times
Spend time with people, technology free -Of course right now, given the situation it’s not possible. However right when things calm down, make sure to be with someone and really enjoy their company.
Make things with your hands -Have a hobby that makes you create physical things with your own hands. Something like DIY, sewing, gardening, embroidery, painting…
Sit in the sun -Feeling the sun on your skin is a really great feeling
Spend time in nature -There is something about reconnection with nature that always makes me feel at home and real. Walking barefoot on grass, gardening or spending time with animals is just so benefitial for you.
Make food, eat food and be mindful about it -Preparing food and eating slowly is similar to making things. It’s something people have been doing since forever, make sure to enjoy it.
Go through an experience without taking photos -Very often I am the only one not taking photos or videos at concerts. It doesn’t make me a better person in any way. It’s just my decision of keeping it all in my heart right then and there.
