It feels like there is such a disconnect between the fans and MCR. I miss the days where the guys were on socials interacting with fans, them doing special little things like Gerard holding a poster design contest, livestreams, Frank sharing fanart he gets, INTERVIEWS?!? They feel so distant now, like they are just too big now, which is true. I appreciate everything the are doing but something feels weird. They feel like the fictional band that they are portraying on stage. They don’t feel real to me anymore. Then there is the tone deaf merch drop with egregious prices. How much of the fanbase is into the Olympics? Why would we want to rep merch from a shitty government when most if not all countries live under shitty government. Yaaaay dictatorship? I used to just push away criticisms about the band not addressing the political and social climate going on right now, specifically America, but I just can’t anymore. It all feels dystopian to me.
