andrew came downstairs from the office to give me a hug and seemed really worried about me and it turned out that i had reblogged a picture of a jellyfish with the tag âsometimes i wish i could be thisâ and while i had meant âbeautiful, ethereal, and full of lightâ he had interpreted it as meaning âbrainless and totally free of the burden of consciousnessâ
this was the jellyfish
Reblog if you too wish to be brainless and totally free of the burden of consciousness
or beautiful, ethereal, and full of light
I recently came out to my mother's side of the family who are majority conservative christians and it went much better than I expected. Like, they were weirdly supportive. I only got one comment insinuating that I might possibly be going to hell but it came from my aunt and she's dying soon anyway so ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ. Anyway, I'm telling them how shocked I am and that I honestly thought that they'd have more of a problem with it when my grandma is like "Well you know we've been through this before with your uncle Nicky" and I'm like "what" and so it turns out that my uncle Nick was born a Natalie, came out as a boy at 19, and my great grandma proceeded to pay for his top surgery and hormone therapy. In 1974. And I just had to process for a bit because my entire life no one has referred to him as anything other than he/him and his chosen name. I ask why no one ever thought to mention this and they're just like "tbh we forgot. It's been so long that he's been a man" This man is married. He has a wife and three kids. I ask my relatives how they went about having kids, whether through adoption or sperm donor or what and none of them know. Apparently he just told everyone that they were gonna be parents and then one day showed up at my grandma's house with a baby. No questions were asked. Just. He and his wife had a baby now and that was that. Three times. Weeks later when I finally talk to my aunt Sarah (Nick's wife) all she tells me is that neither of them have ever been pregnant and, I quote, "sometimes you just come into children". She phrased it like people use the phrase "come into money". Like children are something that just happens to you. I ask my relatives if any of them had a problem with Nick being trans at the time, saying I'd understand if they had negative feelings about it, as it was the 1970s after all. They were like "nope" and i was just like "you didn't think anything of it?" And my grandfather was like "these things happen" while the other adults nodded sagely. So I guess the moral here is that if my conservative christian relatives could accept my uncle as trans in the 1970s then there really isn't any excuse for anyone. And also my family needs to ask more questions because I'm fairly sure my aunt and uncle stole their kids.
I'm laughing my ass off at that last sentence- But I'm so glad your coming out went well! That's one heck of a way to find out you have LGBT relatives.
let me be perfectly clear
oh, i see
I appreciate your transparency

the only valid m/f pairing dynamics are:
stupid as all fuck but has good intentions (for him) & pegs him (for her)
Area Man In Awe of his Amazing Wife (note: the characters need not necessarily actually be married to fit this trope)
but sir, thatâs my emotional support fictional mom & dad
âeveryone, meet my monster/alien/robot boyfriendâ
none of these are mutually exclusive
for the visual learners in the crowd
If I may add:
@god-sent-gender-bent
BEHOLD
Iâll give her a HAH and a hiYAH and I keek her ser.
the bar is set very very low
This is the most German comic I have ever seen. And itâs not even about Germans.
Ok I just now noticed the birds. I thought this was just a comic about bread and respectful distance. I stand with my point though.
Bonk Bonk!

My aesthetic: when you take off your glasses on a highway and all the lights go soft and smudged, a trail of amber behind you like a quiet afterthought
My aesthetic: keeping my own glasses on so I can see the road and not die

Youtube ads are literally the least effective, especially if theyâre unskippable or even timed so that theyâre too short to skip because I will go out of my damn way to avoid buying that product just becuase it got in my way of listening to Fuck Machine by Msi for the 27th time in a row

self driving cars arenât even hard to make lol just program it not to hit stuff
if(goingToHitStuff) {
dont();
}
You lot are either joking, or very ignorant.
well hey now, cybersmith, i think thatâs pretty rude. all you need to do is program it not to hit things, whatâs so complicated about that
Because you have to:
A: determine what a âthingâ is.
B: identify âthingsâ in the vehicleâs surroundings.
C: correctly predict the vehicleâs future path.
D: take proper action if a âthingâ is located in the vehicleâs path.
All of this must take place in real-time, and can only run on the vehicleâs onboard computer.
Each of these tasks must be able to output and input data in a way that the other tasks can interpret.
Each of these tasks, by themselves, have sufficient internal complexity to warrant multiple academic monographs.
just program it so that if the camera sees anything in front of it the computer turns the car away from it. maybe put two more cameras on the sides of the car so that if there are things to either side it knows to brake
So, if a leaf blows past the forward camera on a high-speed motorway, a car traveling in excess of eighty Kmph will brake?
Thatâs a recipe for disaster.
no, because of the leaf detection software
Honestly, often you start coding with a certain goal in mind and usually youâll know some of the obstacles in attaining that goal. And then youâll test it. Youâll run literally a million different scenarios. Then comes all the errors. You probably completely forgot to account for something or maybe there was an unexpected response to one the scenarios because you didnât code it for that specific scenario.
It will then actually take you forever to go fix those errors but then when you run your code through again, lo and behold you may not have solved some of those issues AND MORE LIKELY YOU CREATED NEW ERRORS!
As someone who has only coded some pretty small projects (ie Multiplayer Checkers, Monopoly, Statistical Analysis Calculators, etc etc), I can only imagine how frustrating coding self driving cars must be.
The issues I find in my code is something that I can fix without any consequences but the programming of a carâa car that a company will probably mass produceâmust be foolproof to ensure that PEOPLE DONâT DIE!
So I honestly hope that OP and others are joking because a program is only as smart as the person coding it so our human errors can and will most probably be coded into those programs.
just put the code through a program that fixes the errors
âIf itâs about a dad dating other dads, how come some of them have kids???â
everyone stop reblogging the chains that donât include the trans flag challenge
