Hi Emily! Did you keep the heating mat on for the full 12 hours of curing? Many thanks!
I did! I had it set on low and had ended up going to bed and when I got up in the morning it was not too hot, which I had worried about with it possibly warming up after the sunrise, but due to my work room being on the back of my house and not getting morning sunlight it was still pretty cold in the room in general. As with everything related to resin, different environmental factors can end with very different results, so I might recommend doing some testing with out resin in there curing to see how stable it will be for you.
A few resin things I am kinda working on. I need to make some decisions on what kind of bits to put in these, the bottom two photos are the same widdle dragon. Buuut yeah, getting every so slightly crafty again.
Unfortunate Motivation.
I sat on the corner of my bed and it let out a loud crack and dropped about an inch so now I get to clear it off and do repairs on the frame. I wish I had wall-paint to paint the frame while I am working on it anyway because I am wanting to to go blue looool
I suppose it is worth mentioning that I successfully fixed my bed frame. When I was removing the previous screws they all had sheered apart so I could not remove them entirely, which meant needing to run screws into new and exciting areas on the frame (just between the old screws' holes really). I was almost not able to use the wood glue and clamps because my favorite clamps were just barely too small and the ones I have that are large enough are a total pain in the butt to use. But I used them anyway. So it's glued and screwed with a lot more screws in general and I hope the insane amounts of glue I used will add some stability to prevent the new screws from shearing apart again.

Massive Crafty Drought
I have been in a weird headspace and I am not sure how to get out of it. It has been a long time since I have done anything particularly creative and even longer since I have actually finished anything. So I am really pissed at myself while I also know I should not be since I am aware I have depression issues and the seasons are turning so I am getting the extra fancy seasonal depression as well. I am also frustrated with not getting out of my house to exercise like I had planned to all summer. I even got myself a bicycle, and I have it ALMOST set up properly but I had to put it in the garage because it was taking up too much space in my house and the porch is not secure so to the garage it went and has not come out since.
I think what gets me the most is wanting to do things, knowing they will make me happy to do them and finish them, but I still can't manage to even get started.
ANYWAY this popped into my head today because I closed my squarespace web shop because I have not been maintaining it at all and there is no one poking around in it anyway. I want to sell stuff but its one of the many things I can't get my brain to agree to actually DO.
My first batch of lotion bars! The skulls are because I didn't think I was going to have enough for another full flower, but we all know I am awful and eye-balling how much stuff can fit in what size mold. They smelled nice but the beeswax-to-liquid oils ratio was too high. Which means they left skin feeling slightly sticky.
Luckily! Lotion bars are super easy to re-batch by melting them down and adding more liquid or softer oils! The skulls ended up being a blessing since I used one of them as my tester and was able to re-batch the rest of them because they had not been used/dirtied.

When bath bomb mixing goes bad... Too much fluid in this mix made it react as it was drying and it was a complete disaster. At least I learned?

One of my first times using melt and pour soap. I love these molds and a lot of other molds made by these folks but I am not sure if they are still in circulation, and I don't remember the exact brand, I will edit with that information later... if I remember.

That one time i was making cute minimalist oatmeal bath bombs for my niece who has eczema, and my dog totally tried to eat one when I had my back turned.

These were made with gelatin because that's what I had in my cabinets anyway, it was ancient gelatin at that (from the early 1990s probably). If I were to make them again, and had time to order the right ingredients, I would definitely try to go a vegan route to get them to gel.

Christmas marbled soap! These were also cold process and I cannot express how thrilled I was with the look of these soaps! The scent I used was a scent that made me think of Christmas when I was a kid and we had real trees every year and the smell of the pine trees, and gingerbread and it was/is an amazingly nostalgic scent for me.

This soap was supposed to be halloweeny purple and orange but the purple turned brownish grey and the orange came out duller than I had hoped. Being a super newbie with soap making means stuff like this happens at times. Luckily it still smelled good!

These were my first super good result with cold process soap! They were a pumpkin spice scent and were not great with lathering but that's because of my oil mix and not adding extra foamy additives.
They smelled great, and were not drying at all so success all around, unless they went to anyone who is super fond of sudsy soap.

The first time I tried to get into bullet journalling! I only had my G2 bold pens and being a lefty meant I had a rough time with smearing. I wish I could find some smooth, bold and fast drying pens. But so far I have not found bold and quick-dry in the same ball-point pen.
I also fell out of the habit of using the thing in a couple weeks so whoopsies...

A few not halloweeny rocks! The dot mandala style things were super fun to learn to do and blue one was one of my favorite rocks I have ever painted.

Beaded coptic style hand bound notebook. The beads were a pain to use because they were super irregular in size, and the thread I was using was too thick and when combined with the needle I use for binding ended up even harder to get through the eye of the beads.
My fingers were pretty sore after this project.
