Lift life. Was watching some videos of my first time skiing 2-years ago versus this weekend and it’s amazing what a little passion and perseverance can do for improving your skills in all areas of life. What looks like “talent” often comes down to deliberate practice, making plenty of mistakes, and getting up to try again. It’s truly amazing what we all can do when we value effort, growth, and learning. For more on this topic I highly recommend the book “Grit” by psychologist Angela Duckworth who synthesizes years of fascinating research on the science of success. For me, the greatest lesson was the importance of sustained pursuit of a single goal. It’s not necessarily how hard you work in the moment, but how much you follow through. Cheers and here’s to finishing what we’ve started.
