#we love a sassy power couple
I totally understand Shoto thinking that Deku was All Might's secret son. Before I watched mha, I thought Shinso was Aizawa's son and Mirio was All Might's
c'mon, they're a copy!!
We know the doylist reason behind Momo, Ochako or Tooru's costumes but I find their incidental in-world implications just as unsettling.
15-year-old girls know that sexually marketing their body makes them more likely to succeed as a hero. The hero industry and society pressure them to. Newcomers like Mt. Lady show them that it works. I can see why someone in Ochako's position might hesitate to request changes to the support company's* "choice costume," even if it makes them uncomfortable.
*I know UA works with at least two different support companies but since they are only differentiated by the easter egg in Katsuki and Ochako's costumes, I've decided to treat them as a homegenous one.
A seperate ranking for "sexiest female hero" and pros like Midnight emphasizing the necessity of sex appeal on live television intensify that pressure, both for the girls and from the people they're supposed to appeal to.
Other types of pressure are less overt and more personal and humiliating.
The support company supplies Katsuki with explosion-proof gloves; he doesn't even have to ask. Mirio, who, before Nighteye, wasn't even a top promising student, gets a scientific-miracle suit through his own hair.
When "repairing" Izuku's tracksuit and plastic mask costume, the support company changes the design to be cooler and the materials to provide more safety and comfort (like the sturdier mask with added breathing holes) and adds several protective reinforcements.
Tooru, a female hero student with incredible potential, gets nothing. She repeatedly worries about being invisible [in the eyes of the public] and much of her personality revolves around making herself seen to others. She would have clearly loved a costume similar to Mirio's that she could turn on and off.
Momo, the daughter of some of the richest people in the country, gets a bathing suit that accommodates her quirk in nothing but design. It offers no protection and falls apart at the slightest rupture. This is insane because, by the time Momo enrolls, UA already has a student with a costume that turns permeable at will.
It's anyone's guess whether Tooru or Momo asked for something better and were rejected or whether they already internalized that they shouldn't expect the same level of accommodation as their male peers.
Again, support companies exercise a lot of autonomy in adapting and improving students' costumes. The options and the technology exist, they're just not offered to the girls.

i’ve warmed up significantly towards the concept of small talk ever since i learned that its sole purpose is to make friendly noises.
as long as you smile and nod, people are satisfied. it’s just to show that you are nice and there with good intentions. we’re small in a big world and have to rely on other people to be decent to us. so we do our little human dance to each other to say, “i’m not here to hurt you. here’s something we have in common, like the weather or sports or itchy sweaters, so we both know we’re on the same team. we both agree on a basic fact, like that it is rainy or that being itchy is uncomfortable, and this proves we can get along. i’m being light-hearted and non-threatening right now.”
small talk isn’t to get to know a person. it’s just a greeting to affirm you’re buddies in the universe.
i am motivated by wanting the other person to know i am friendly, so i have gotten pretty decent at small talk when i used to hate it.
