Like my Hanna post, this is gonna be a long one, so, forewarning. Also there might be some things written here that may overwrite what was written in that post.
The main things I changed was giving him a Rito bracelet that was given to him by Hanna when they were little in his BotW design, and in his TotK design made him match his wife as well as give more of a "gladiator" vibe. Along with an actual beard, cause he deserves it.
This is my general redesign of Gorons, as well since I wanted to have them match the other non-Hylian races, so have some rock turtles.
TLDR: This is also a slight rewrite of BotW and TotK as to make the main story more linear, and have more substance. You as the player start in Rito Village, then Zora's Domain, then Goron City, and last Gerudo Town.
Yunobo is similar to his canon counterpart, however he is wracked with guilt over the belief that he's the reason his father is dead. He's deathly terrified of monsters, and considers himself a failure for not being anything like his father, or grandfather, Daruk. Breath of the Wild's story for him is about him properly growing into the man his father and grandfather can be proud of (while also getting a Rito girlfriend on the side, but don't worry about that, lol)
In Tears of the Kingdom... the whole story needs to be striped for parts. Yunobo has become more of a warrior poet, has married Hanna, and has become surprisingly wise in the few years he's been leading the Gorons.
Breath of the Wild
Preamble
This version of BotW is based off the idea that each Divine Beast needs to be done in a certain order. Making the main story linear, while still allowing the game to be open-world. Link, as a character has 4 paths that he can take leading to 4 different endings of the game:
Remain the boy, and do not remember: Link refuses the hero's journey almost entirely, and ignores trying to regain his memories. This ends in him killing Calamity Ganon, but not knowing who Zelda is, resulting in the two of them becoming strangers.
Remain the boy and remember: While he remembers his past, Link refuses to go back to the man that he was. After Killing Ganon, he and Zelda are simply friends and nothing more.
Become the man, but do not remember: Link answers the call, but he has no need to remember his past. He saves the princess because Hyrule needs saving, and that is it. Link is nothing more that Zelda's dutiful knight.
Become the man, and remember: He has answered the call, and remembers what he was fighting for all this time. Ganon must fall so Link can see his Love once more.
This rewrite follows the idea that you are playing a Link that is becoming the man and remembering his past. If you're interested, I'll actually write a full rewrite of BotW and TotK, but this is about Yunobo specifically.
Death Mountain
After defeating both Vah Medoh and Vah Ruta, Link heads to Death Mountain to take control of Vah Rudania. Death Mountain, living up to its name, begins scorching Link, ending with him at the shop in Goron City, and trying not to burn to death. After obtaining the Flamebreaker Armor, Link goes to talk to the boss of the Gorons, Bludo to see how he can help.
Bludo is generally not having it, complaining about his back, and about his no-good godson, Yunobo, stating that he hasn't come back with his medicine. Link asks about this Yunobo, and Bludo says that he's the grandson of the Goron Champion Daruk, pointing at the statue, and leading Link to remember him.
After the flashback, Link says that he would love to meet the grandson of his old friend, leading to Bludo telling him not to get his hopes up.
"He probably got lost chasing lizards or something. I swear, that boy is off in his own head more than he is in the real world..."
We go and find Yunobo stuck in the same place we find him in the canon game, but when we break open the storeroom, instead of a screaming running Goron, we find one huddled in a shaking ball. Daruk's Protection on full display. Link goes up to him, and clears his throat, leading to Yunobo jumping out of both his ball form and his skin to scream and slide all the way to the end of the small store room, begging to not get hurt. It's clear that he's been crying.
After a moment, he apologizes to Link, obviously embarrassed of how scared he was.
"T-the storeroom got locked from the other side... I... I thought I was g-gonna be stuck in here a while, goro..."
"I'm s-sorry for making you come and save me..."
This Yunobo is a lot more somber and demure compared to his canon counterpart. He's still around 15-16 years old, and a coward in his words but the panicked warbling of his canon appearance is traded for an honestly sadder young man.
We bring Yunobo back to Bludo who begins to immediately berate him.
"I can't believe I had to ask an outsider to save your sorry hide! Do you know how dangerous it is for Hylians to be here right now?"
"Yeah, Boss... I'm sorry"
"Sorry? Sorry ain't anywhere good enough, Yunobo! This man could have died, when all you had to do was break a couple of rocks. Your pa would be ashamed of you..."
Bludo punches the ground in frustration, hurting his back again in the process. Irritated and desperately trying not to make someone else deal with the Goron's problems, Bludo tells Yunobo to get out of his sight, leading the teenaged Goron to silently sneak away.
We can then tell Bludo that he was way too harsh to Yunobo. He's still young and learning. The last thing a growing man needs in his life is a father figure that is constantly disappointed in him.
Bludo responds shoots back stating that he's giving that kid almost anything he could hope for. After his father passed away, Bludo had raised him as his own. But Yunobo is the grandson of Daruk, the Champion of the Goron tribe! He even got his grandfather's power, for Din's sake, out of all the Gorons in this city, he has the biggest shoes to fill, and he spends his days faffing about, daydreaming.
With that impassioned speech, we go find Yunobo, making shapes in the sand.
"Oh... It's you..."
"Come to tell me how much of a screw up I am? That I should've been able to save myself, goro?"
We tell him "of course not".
"Then why're you here?"
"To make sure the grandson of my friend is alright" we reply
"..."
"I'm sorry, I'm such a coward... I have been since... since my dad..."
"A-any way, you sh-should go, goro. Death Mountain isn't safe for a-anyone that isn't a Goron, just..."
Yunobo looks back to the scribbles he made on the ground.
"Leave us be..."
Mission Update: Go get Teba
After that conversation, Link, as his character has matured, realizes that Yunobo is in desperate need of an actual father. It's quite obvious that he blames himself for something to do with his dad's death, and Link senses that the words of a man who has an actual child could get through to the young Goron. So we head to Rito Village.
It takes some convincing, but we tell Teba that there's a young man in need of proper fatherly advice, and while Link is willing, he's a little bit young for that kind of talk. Teba agrees and heads to the stable at the foot of Death Mountain, and we go get Yunobo.
At the stable, Yunobo and Teba meet. Yunobo is worried about a Rito coming all the way out here, especially how hot Eldin is right now, but Teba tells him not to worry.
"I hear you are in need of guidance."
"Is... is that why you came all the way out here?"
"I was told there was a Goron fledgling in need. And that he had quite the feathers to grow out."
Yunobo looks away in shame.
"Yunobo is your name, right?"
"Y-yes sir"
"My name isn't 'sir' it's Teba"
"...Yes... Teba"
Teba nods in approval.
"So tell me Yunobo, why is a young warrior afraid of his own shadow?"
Yunobo is quiet for a moment. Then begins to explain why he's like this.
He had lost his father when he was no older than 6, you see. Him and his dad were on a delivery of some sort when they were accosted by monsters. Yunobo's father, of course, protected his young son from danger, but there was a problem. While Yunobo was blessed with Daruk's Protection, that particular gift skipped over his father, and there were far, far too many monsters for a single Goron to fight by himself.
"My... my dad died protecting me... while I just sat there... curled up in a ball..."
Yunobo's fists tightened at the memory.
"Bludo found me hours after my dad... after the monsters got bored of hitting my protection..."
"I hear the others talk, you know? What they say about me. 'Look at the little rock, that's Daruk's legacy'...'Can't believe he's the one that survived'..."
He sniffles.
"I know... that if the other's had their way, they would have preferred my dad surviving that attack over me... his..."
Tears fall involuntarily from his eyes.
"His coward son..."
"Yunobo..."
Teba places his wing on Yunobo's shoulder.
"I have a son, who's around the age you lost your father, and let me tell you a secret."
Teba smiles up at him
"The only thing your father regretted was not knowing if you made it out alive. I would have don't the same thing if I were in his place."
"It is the greatest gift for us fathers, protecting our children, and doing whatever we can to make sure they live, even if we don't."
He pats Yunobo on the shoulder.
"He loved you so much, he died to defend you. Don't sullen his memory by saying he did something wrong. Don't deny him peace by wishing to trade places."
More tears from the Goron, and a covered face of embarrassment.
"I-I'm sorry, goro! I don't-I'm crying too much"
This time, Link steps up to pat his forearm, giving him a comforting smile. Teba tells Yunobo to not worry about that, tears are nothing to be ashamed of. So, the young man, who for the first time in his life had that weight lifted off his shoulders, cried over his daddy who loved him dearly.
Vah Rudania
Yunobo, after getting the pep-talk that he needed, asks Link to help him with the Divine Beast. At first, we hesitate.
Sure, Yunobo has gotten a boost of confidence, but that was only the first step. With an uncertain look, he gives Teba a glance, and the Rito simply nods. Yunobo needs a win, so Link agrees.
The gameplay goes the same as in the canon game, all the way up to Rudania, where Yunobo shakes with uncertainty.
"T-t-that's a long w-way down, goro. We-we should-I should.."
Link then places a hand on his forearm again, and gives a knowing smile, and a nod. "Don't worry about it. You've done enough, let your big brother take care of the rest"
And down into Rudania we fall.
Hanna
Now this is were we get into true fanfiction territory, as if this wasn't already hella fanfiction-y, buckle up, boys.
If you read my Hanna post, you'll know that she and Yunobo were childhood friends. She met him after his father died, and never saw him as anything other than her best friend. She simply loved him, and didn't really care who or what his father or grandfather were.
After her quest to get her to spend time with him again, she asks us if we can find out if Yunobo feels the same way she does. Ah, young love. When we go talk to him, he's genuinely surprised.
"Hanna? What do you mean she likes me?"
"I mean she has a crush on you" Link replies, unable to hide his grin
Yunobo's eyes grow wide. Then he smiles, excited
"I need you to help me, Link"
The quest remains the same as in the Hanna post, ending with the two of them getting together (seriously, I go into a lot more detail there).
Hanna, of course, learns about Yunobo's past, and how he's felt like a burden to his people for a long time, but all she hears is that she needs to kill Bludo.
She tells him that while he was scared, he still tried. He still went out and helped both Bludo and Link when it was time to face Vah Rudania. That being brave isn't being not scared, it's doing the right thing even when you feel you're frozen in fear.
"Yun-Yun, I fell for you because I knew that that's who you are. Don't you ever forget that, okay?"
"You've always had weird taste in men, Hanna. I saw the books you used to read."
"Excuse you, that was fine literature."
They laugh at the insanity of the two of them.
Tears of the Kingdom
Thankfully for you, I'm sure, I have a lot less here (mostly because TotK needs to be gutted and reformed), but what I have so far:
Hanna and Yunobo are married, and have been for a few years now. As soon as the both of them became adults they tied the knot.
"Yunobo Co" has been renamed to "Goro Co" because I do not believe that Yunobo is that unoriginal.
He also has a deeper voice, because he's actually a grown ass man now, and deserves a grown ass man voice. As well as a grown ass man beard.
For now, he still gets taken over by the evil mask™ that Ganondorf gave him, as well as now Hanna, who's become a mean girl.
He's a lot more mature compared to his canon counterpart. Still somber and thoughtful like in BotW(revamp), but much more comfortable in his own skin.
Still toying with the idea of him and Hanna having a kid together. Don't know if that goes too far into true fanfiction territory.

That's all I got so far, since I'm pretty sure I need to just figure out a complete rewrite of TotK first before getting into the nitty gritty of Yunobo and Hanna's characters in the sequel.
Like my Hanna post, this is gonna be a long one, so, forewarning. Also there might be some things written here that may overwrite what was written in that post.
The main things I changed was giving him a Rito bracelet that was given to him by Hanna when they were little in his BotW design, and in his TotK design made him match his wife as well as give more of a "gladiator" vibe. Along with an actual beard, cause he deserves it.
This is my general redesign of Gorons, as well since I wanted to have them match the other non-Hylian races, so have some rock turtles.
TLDR: This is also a slight rewrite of BotW and TotK as to make the main story more linear, and have more substance. You as the player start in Rito Village, then Zora's Domain, then Goron City, and last Gerudo Town.
Yunobo is similar to his canon counterpart, however he is wracked with guilt over the belief that he's the reason his father is dead. He's deathly terrified of monsters, and considers himself a failure for not being anything like his father, or grandfather, Daruk. Breath of the Wild's story for him is about him properly growing into the man his father and grandfather can be proud of (while also getting a Rito girlfriend on the side, but don't worry about that, lol)
In Tears of the Kingdom... the whole story needs to be striped for parts. Yunobo has become more of a warrior poet, has married Hanna, and has become surprisingly wise in the few years he's been leading the Gorons.
Breath of the Wild
Preamble
This version of BotW is based off the idea that each Divine Beast needs to be done in a certain order. Making the main story linear, while still allowing the game to be open-world. Link, as a character has 4 paths that he can take leading to 4 different endings of the game:
Remain the boy, and do not remember: Link refuses the hero's journey almost entirely, and ignores trying to regain his memories. This ends in him killing Calamity Ganon, but not knowing who Zelda is, resulting in the two of them becoming strangers.
Remain the boy and remember: While he remembers his past, Link refuses to go back to the man that he was. After Killing Ganon, he and Zelda are simply friends and nothing more.
Become the man, but do not remember: Link answers the call, but he has no need to remember his past. He saves the princess because Hyrule needs saving, and that is it. Link is nothing more that Zelda's dutiful knight.
Become the man, and remember: He has answered the call, and remembers what he was fighting for all this time. Ganon must fall so Link can see his Love once more.
This rewrite follows the idea that you are playing a Link that is becoming the man and remembering his past. If you're interested, I'll actually write a full rewrite of BotW and TotK, but this is about Yunobo specifically.
Death Mountain
After defeating both Vah Medoh and Vah Ruta, Link heads to Death Mountain to take control of Vah Rudania. Death Mountain, living up to its name, begins scorching Link, ending with him at the shop in Goron City, and trying not to burn to death. After obtaining the Flamebreaker Armor, Link goes to talk to the boss of the Gorons, Bludo to see how he can help.
Bludo is generally not having it, complaining about his back, and about his no-good godson, Yunobo, stating that he hasn't come back with his medicine. Link asks about this Yunobo, and Bludo says that he's the grandson of the Goron Champion Daruk, pointing at the statue, and leading Link to remember him.
After the flashback, Link says that he would love to meet the grandson of his old friend, leading to Bludo telling him not to get his hopes up.
"He probably got lost chasing lizards or something. I swear, that boy is off in his own head more than he is in the real world..."
We go and find Yunobo stuck in the same place we find him in the canon game, but when we break open the storeroom, instead of a screaming running Goron, we find one huddled in a shaking ball. Daruk's Protection on full display. Link goes up to him, and clears his throat, leading to Yunobo jumping out of both his ball form and his skin to scream and slide all the way to the end of the small store room, begging to not get hurt. It's clear that he's been crying.
After a moment, he apologizes to Link, obviously embarrassed of how scared he was.
"T-the storeroom got locked from the other side... I... I thought I was g-gonna be stuck in here a while, goro..."
"I'm s-sorry for making you come and save me..."
This Yunobo is a lot more somber and demure compared to his canon counterpart. He's still around 15-16 years old, and a coward in his words but the panicked warbling of his canon appearance is traded for an honestly sadder young man.
We bring Yunobo back to Bludo who begins to immediately berate him.
"I can't believe I had to ask an outsider to save your sorry hide! Do you know how dangerous it is for Hylians to be here right now?"
"Yeah, Boss... I'm sorry"
"Sorry? Sorry ain't anywhere good enough, Yunobo! This man could have died, when all you had to do was break a couple of rocks. Your pa would be ashamed of you..."
Bludo punches the ground in frustration, hurting his back again in the process. Irritated and desperately trying not to make someone else deal with the Goron's problems, Bludo tells Yunobo to get out of his sight, leading the teenaged Goron to silently sneak away.
We can then tell Bludo that he was way too harsh to Yunobo. He's still young and learning. The last thing a growing man needs in his life is a father figure that is constantly disappointed in him.
Bludo responds shoots back stating that he's giving that kid almost anything he could hope for. After his father passed away, Bludo had raised him as his own. But Yunobo is the grandson of Daruk, the Champion of the Goron tribe! He even got his grandfather's power, for Din's sake, out of all the Gorons in this city, he has the biggest shoes to fill, and he spends his days faffing about, daydreaming.
With that impassioned speech, we go find Yunobo, making shapes in the sand.
"Oh... It's you..."
"Come to tell me how much of a screw up I am? That I should've been able to save myself, goro?"
We tell him "of course not".
"Then why're you here?"
"To make sure the grandson of my friend is alright" we reply
"..."
"I'm sorry, I'm such a coward... I have been since... since my dad..."
"A-any way, you sh-should go, goro. Death Mountain isn't safe for a-anyone that isn't a Goron, just..."
Yunobo looks back to the scribbles he made on the ground.
"Leave us be..."
Mission Update: Go get Teba
After that conversation, Link, as his character has matured, realizes that Yunobo is in desperate need of an actual father. It's quite obvious that he blames himself for something to do with his dad's death, and Link senses that the words of a man who has an actual child could get through to the young Goron. So we head to Rito Village.
It takes some convincing, but we tell Teba that there's a young man in need of proper fatherly advice, and while Link is willing, he's a little bit young for that kind of talk. Teba agrees and heads to the stable at the foot of Death Mountain, and we go get Yunobo.
At the stable, Yunobo and Teba meet. Yunobo is worried about a Rito coming all the way out here, especially how hot Eldin is right now, but Teba tells him not to worry.
"I hear you are in need of guidance."
"Is... is that why you came all the way out here?"
"I was told there was a Goron fledgling in need. And that he had quite the feathers to grow out."
Yunobo looks away in shame.
"Yunobo is your name, right?"
"Y-yes sir"
"My name isn't 'sir' it's Teba"
"...Yes... Teba"
Teba nods in approval.
"So tell me Yunobo, why is a young warrior afraid of his own shadow?"
Yunobo is quiet for a moment. Then begins to explain why he's like this.
He had lost his father when he was no older than 6, you see. Him and his dad were on a delivery of some sort when they were accosted by monsters. Yunobo's father, of course, protected his young son from danger, but there was a problem. While Yunobo was blessed with Daruk's Protection, that particular gift skipped over his father, and there were far, far too many monsters for a single Goron to fight by himself.
"My... my dad died protecting me... while I just sat there... curled up in a ball..."
Yunobo's fists tightened at the memory.
"Bludo found me hours after my dad... after the monsters got bored of hitting my protection..."
"I hear the others talk, you know? What they say about me. 'Look at the little rock, that's Daruk's legacy'...'Can't believe he's the one that survived'..."
He sniffles.
"I know... that if the other's had their way, they would have preferred my dad surviving that attack over me... his..."
Tears fall involuntarily from his eyes.
"His coward son..."
"Yunobo..."
Teba places his wing on Yunobo's shoulder.
"I have a son, who's around the age you lost your father, and let me tell you a secret."
Teba smiles up at him
"The only thing your father regretted was not knowing if you made it out alive. I would have don't the same thing if I were in his place."
"It is the greatest gift for us fathers, protecting our children, and doing whatever we can to make sure they live, even if we don't."
He pats Yunobo on the shoulder.
"He loved you so much, he died to defend you. Don't sullen his memory by saying he did something wrong. Don't deny him peace by wishing to trade places."
More tears from the Goron, and a covered face of embarrassment.
"I-I'm sorry, goro! I don't-I'm crying too much"
This time, Link steps up to pat his forearm, giving him a comforting smile. Teba tells Yunobo to not worry about that, tears are nothing to be ashamed of. So, the young man, who for the first time in his life had that weight lifted off his shoulders, cried over his daddy who loved him dearly.
Vah Rudania
Yunobo, after getting the pep-talk that he needed, asks Link to help him with the Divine Beast. At first, we hesitate.
Sure, Yunobo has gotten a boost of confidence, but that was only the first step. With an uncertain look, he gives Teba a glance, and the Rito simply nods. Yunobo needs a win, so Link agrees.
The gameplay goes the same as in the canon game, all the way up to Rudania, where Yunobo shakes with uncertainty.
"T-t-that's a long w-way down, goro. We-we should-I should.."
Link then places a hand on his forearm again, and gives a knowing smile, and a nod. "Don't worry about it. You've done enough, let your big brother take care of the rest"
And down into Rudania we fall.
Hanna
Now this is were we get into true fanfiction territory, as if this wasn't already hella fanfiction-y, buckle up, boys.
If you read my Hanna post, you'll know that she and Yunobo were childhood friends. She met him after his father died, and never saw him as anything other than her best friend. She simply loved him, and didn't really care who or what his father or grandfather were.
After her quest to get her to spend time with him again, she asks us if we can find out if Yunobo feels the same way she does. Ah, young love. When we go talk to him, he's genuinely surprised.
"Hanna? What do you mean she likes me?"
"I mean she has a crush on you" Link replies, unable to hide his grin
Yunobo's eyes grow wide. Then he smiles, excited
"I need you to help me, Link"
The quest remains the same as in the Hanna post, ending with the two of them getting together (seriously, I go into a lot more detail there).
Hanna, of course, learns about Yunobo's past, and how he's felt like a burden to his people for a long time, but all she hears is that she needs to kill Bludo.
She tells him that while he was scared, he still tried. He still went out and helped both Bludo and Link when it was time to face Vah Rudania. That being brave isn't being not scared, it's doing the right thing even when you feel you're frozen in fear.
"Yun-Yun, I fell for you because I knew that that's who you are. Don't you ever forget that, okay?"
"You've always had weird taste in men, Hanna. I saw the books you used to read."
"Excuse you, that was fine literature."
They laugh at the insanity of the two of them.
Tears of the Kingdom
Thankfully for you, I'm sure, I have a lot less here (mostly because TotK needs to be gutted and reformed), but what I have so far:
Hanna and Yunobo are married, and have been for a few years now. As soon as the both of them became adults they tied the knot.
"Yunobo Co" has been renamed to "Goro Co" because I do not believe that Yunobo is that unoriginal.
He also has a deeper voice, because he's actually a grown ass man now, and deserves a grown ass man voice. As well as a grown ass man beard.
For now, he still gets taken over by the evil mask™ that Ganondorf gave him, as well as now Hanna, who's become a mean girl.
He's a lot more mature compared to his canon counterpart. Still somber and thoughtful like in BotW(revamp), but much more comfortable in his own skin.
Still toying with the idea of him and Hanna having a kid together. Don't know if that goes too far into true fanfiction territory.
