Why do people from different cultures misunderstand each other?

people are all raised differently and have different cultural upbrings and also different religious beliefs. I think this plays a major role as to why people from different cultures misunderstand each other.individuals, in general, have difficulty being more open-minded towards other cultures and other individuals beliefs. everyone thinks their culture and their religious beliefs are the right ones and that what everyone else believes in is wrong. In doing so this causes a big conflict amongst people that live in the same region but have different cultural upbringings and religious beliefs. Yemen is a country that is going through a civil war right now due to this conflict between The rebels known as Houthis and the people.  

In a recent blog by Melany Markham, she explores the reason why people have been fleeing Western Anbar. She explains that people have been fleeing the area because it was taken over by ISIS and the people that managed to flee tell stories of children as young as 11 being forced to recruit, a massive amount of food shortage and their human rights were being violated. she spoke to one person, in particular, his name was Nafa Yacob he explains to her that he fled because he didn't want his son to be forced to join ISIS. Nafa lost everything when he fled from his hometown. He said that he paid a lot of money to smuggle him and his family of 13 out of western Anbar. He and many of the people that are living in these camps cannot return home and may be there for months or even years if the government cannot manage to retake the last stronghold of ISIS. Due to so many people in these camps, they don't have enough latrines or clean water to drink. 

when asked "Do all individuals and cultural groups share a fundamental humanistic belief in sanctity of the human spirit and the goodness of peace, and that people should respect the well being of others?    

In my opinion no, they do not share a fundamental humanistic belief in the sanctity of the human spirit and the goodness of peace, and that people should respect the well being of others, as stated above thousands of people had to flee their homes to be safe and to live peacefully and not in fear of ISIS and the dangers if they stayed in their homes instead of fleeing . while fleeing their homes they lost everything they've worked hard for. This is no way of living, they have nothing left, their rights were violated by ISIS groups they forced some of these peoples children to join the groups. ISIS and the civilians that fled the area do not share the same humanistic beliefs these individuals want to live a peaceful life whereas to the people that are part of ISIS they want to start warfares and kill anyone that doesn't what to join them. This brings into thought how fortunate people are here in the United States, in this country we freely practice any religion we want and we can practice our humanistic beliefs without fear. Unfortunately, this is not the case in other countries like Western Anbar and other countries that are trying to flee warfare to live a peaceful life. 

Since the beginning of time women have always played a vital role when it comes to nurturing and being the foundation of a family but however, when it comes to the working field men have always been superior to women. Society has always been sexes about women in the working field. Women and men can have the same position and men will still earn more because of the fact that they identify as being stronger then women and they also have less emotions so they can make a decision based on logic and not emotions. However, technically women are stronger then men if you really think about it we as women have to work, take care of children, take care of a household, and also maintain a marriage so pretty much a women can do it all, whereas to men just work and the women does the rest. one of the success stories from the website global funding for women, there was a success story on a girl named Cynthia Muhonja when she was 11 she lost her mom to HIV/AIDS and she had to take care of her siblings and go to school as well. After she became involved with the global funding for women, she rose to be top student finishing with an A average while taking care of her siblings. Cynthia believes that if women understand their rights and work for them, then they will grow a society that has a different mindset about the sexes, they will grow a society where the same value is placed on all genders. whether you are a boy or girl is doesn’t really matter. Overall, Identity plays a role in how women identify to society, men are identified as superior to women and stronger than women, hopefully one day Women will be view more that just caretakers and caregivers and will be given the same rights as men when it comes to the working world.
