so my little nerd brain is impatient af when i said that i wanted to compare the color palette of these two movies so yeah i made some bulshiiiittt (all of these are from the trailers for each movies except the taumoeba leak scene)
HOWEVER looking at this board like... it got myself smiling in the middle of the night because holy shit.. HOLY SHIT THEY'RE REALLY PARALLELING EACH OTHER WTF
and also seriously it's really beautiful to look at TuT) they had their own aesthetic for these shots but like ouhsgdhsd it's the way the colors align with each other i'm basically playing puzzles lmao
this shot by shot still goes by my favorite parallel ever likeeeeeeeee

Simon’s ability to navigate is cracked asf to Eridians!!! /pos
OKAY so idk if this is canon cus I can’t find the post but someone made a post about how Eridians apparently don’t have a spacial memory/recall/remembered spacial awareness like we do, and therefore if they walked through a room and “saw” it, then tried to walk through the room “blind” aka deaf and unable to echolocate, they’d be totally lost. They don’t retain awareness of how to navigate that space. Unlike humans, who can mentally visualize the navigable area of a room they can no longer see, allowing us to walk around in the dark with some semblance of where things are. That post mentioned how confused Eridians would be seeing Grace walk around his house in the dark and not run into Everything, he actually seems to know where he’s going.
And then I had a realization while rewatching Iron Lung. THEY WOULD FIND WHAT SIMON DID INCONCEIVABLE. Absolute freak of nature shit. And what I mean is his ability to map his surroundings and learn them and navigate them. Simon literally could never effectively see things while moving, all he had was a proximity radar and occasional shitty photos that would only ever be “how things looked 3 seconds ago”, and he mapped the area in the blood ocean with decent success and at certain points no longer even needed his map. He managed to gain a sense of his surroundings outside the ship, and understand those surroundings, navigating essentially blind. Only knowing/discovering if something is in front of him once he’s right there almost up against it, close to collision. Building a visual of the space by approaching a direction until he is stopped. And that method of navigation?
In all reality, what most accurately describes the way Simon navigated is by feel. Simon navigated by touch.
….and I think I need to make some fanworks about that.
Simon "the butcher", who is horrified when he finds out he sentenced a man to death by pressing the camera button.
Simon "the butcher" who keeps apologizing for not knowing better, for causing harm to the people in the room, for being rightfully angry and lashing out, turning every knob and lever and pressing that damn button because why would it work when he doesn't have any power and why didn't they just Tell Him??
Simon "the butcher" who gets teary and has the look of a hurt child on his face when ava mentions filament station and his voice trembles when he is quick to say "that wasn't supposed to happen"...
Simon "the butcher" who apologizes to the sm-13, an inanimate object, after hitting the console.
Just... Simon being so unbeliebably human throughout the whole movie, it makes my heart ache for him

I just think it's an interesting thing that Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji always call Sanji their brother, whereas Judge openly says that they're not family.
Ichiji and Niji says Sanji is "younger brother", and Yonji says he's "older brother". Even in that dining room scene, Niji doesn't say "If you keep acting like this, then you're not my brother anymore". What he said is more like "You are our brother, that's why you shouldn't be like this".
I've always said that all they want is to be a matching set of 4. What they don't like is that Sanji is different. First him for being weak as a kid, and then second for being too nice.
When Sanji was pretending to be evil in front of Luffy they all suddenly did a 180 and immediately accepted him. He's strong now, that's for sure, and he's finally "behaving properly".
This panel too. Most people might be paying attention more to the words, contrasting Luffy calling him cook while the brothers beat him up for cooking. The picture, though, is also an interesting contrast. I think a lot of people see this as Niji and Yonji mocking Sanji, but it looks to me more like they're congratulating him for what he did and completely not noticing how upset he is.
It shows that they like him "now" and is being friendly, contrasted with how they treat him as a kid, but it's for all the wrong reasons.
Though, I also keep saying that him saving them seems to be the proof that they finally changed how they view Sanji. We won't really know what changed until they return. All we saw is that Sanji still hates them, but we don't really see what it's like on the other end yet.
what do you think g.ermania thinks of gilbert nowadays?
I think he thinks gilbert is the best case result of a worst case scenario but hes still like deeply concerned by his eccentricities and is like this boy just isnt quite right. I like the fanon? concept of empire madness as a type of disease that can infect nations that get too power hungry such as Ro.me, HRE, ivan etc and he is like seeing the mental scars of it in Ludwig and Gilbert so with the Canon lore that the dead can walk in present times and interact with the future, I think itd be funny if he had a group chat with them on like WhatsApp where he sends them ridiculous cautionary tale ai videos about being humble, pyramid scheme self development /therapy cults and herbal medicines and snake oil shaman cures for fortifying one's mind. I think hes just a slightly out of touch but well meaning guy, his love is solution minded. He wants to fix it. But overall, he's like, welp, it could've been worse with gritted teeth as he reviews his litter.

“They felt sick.” — Vague.
“They threw up.” — Sometimes, but not always.
Illness isn’t a switch you flip. Fever and nausea creep, spike, ebb, lie to you, then come back worse. They live in the body first, and that’s where your writing should live too.
Below, I've written a lil' cheat sheet for you. Reblog so you can come back later.
THE BODY LANGUAGE OF FEVER & NAUSEA
Skin & Temperature
Skin alternates between clammy and burning
Deep internal warmth
Sudden chills while sweating
Clothes feel wrong, either too heavy, too tight, too warm, not warm enough, etc.
Goosebumps even in a warm room
Face flushed, ears hot, neck damp
Head & Senses
Head feels pressurized or stuffed with cotton
Eyes ache when moving
Nose stuffed (on either one side, or both)
Ears ringing or deaf on one side
Lights are too bright/sharp
Sounds blur together
Food smells gross
Room feels tilted or surreal
Focus slips mid-thought
Food/water has an aftertaste
Stomach & Core
Nausea that comes in waves
Swallowing feels deliberate, effortful
Dry swallowing, dry throat—dry everything
Saliva thickens or pools suddenly
Abdomen tightens
Hunger exists but is nauseating at the same time
Body curls inward without thinking
Mouth & Throat
Tongue feels coated
Taste turns metallic, bitter, or flat
Lips dry; licking them doesn’t help
Gag reflex hair-trigger sensitive
Breathing through the mouth makes it worse
Movement & Posture
Barely any movement
Sitting becomes slouching, then curling
Standing too fast triggers instant nausea/dizziness
Hands brace on thighs, counters, walls
Feet shuffle; balance checked constantly
Body seeks cold surfaces or firm pressure
Voice & Speech
Voice dulls or drops in volume (due to plugged nose and raspy throat)
Words come slower
Sentences trail off unfinished
Irritation spikes easily (even if people are being nice)
Delayed responses
Apologies come out automatically (“Sorry. Sorry.”)
NOT ALL “SICK” FEELS THE SAME
Fever (infection-based):
Comes with chills + heat
Mental fog, slowed reaction time
Body aches feel deep, joint-based
Thirst increases, appetite drops
Sleep is restless, sweaty, unrefreshing
Colds / Flu:
More head pressure, sinus heaviness
Heavy cough, sore throat
Heavy fatigue
Fever may be mild or absent (especially colds)
Chronic Illness Flares:
Pain is familiar but still intense
Less panic, more resigned
Symptoms stack (fatigue + nausea + pain)
Character may ration movement and speech
Recovery expectations are lower
Menstrual Cramps:
Pain pulses rhythmically
Heat helps
Nausea tied to motion and smell
Sensitive emotions (more prone to snapping, saying things they regret)
Body feels heavy
Stress-Induced Nausea:
No fever, no chills
Jaw tension, shallow breathing
Nausea spikes during stillness
Relief when distracted or moving
These differences matter. They change how a character reacts, not just how they feel.
So yeah, hope that helps. You don't need vomiting on the page every time. Sometimes being sick is feeling off-key, or sometimes it's quiet recovery. It varies. The symptoms are one part of your story, the rest is up to characterization and plot. Why is illness relevant to your story? Why is this character sick, and how is it different from another character? You can have a lot of fun with this.
Written by a human with a headache and too much experience lying very still, hoping it passes. If you liked this post, buy me a coffee... or cough medicine. 😔
France does not believe indulgence is a moral failing. He believes it is a skill, one learned in kitchens that had to make something good out of very little. He tastes constantly, adjusts constantly, talks while he cooks, wineglass abandoned on the edge of the sink. French food, to him, is not about luxury but about insistence: insisting that meals have names, that bread is torn and shared, that even in lean years you sit down to eat instead of hovering like you’re afraid the food will disappear if you look away. He learned early that hunger makes people quiet in dangerous ways, and he refuses to let silence win.
What unsettles others is how intentional his pleasure is. He lingers over a sauce not because he’s lazy, but because he’s listening, to memory, to the body, to history. He cooks after wars, after arguments, after losses that don’t have words yet, feeding people before they realize they’re being taken care of. France is generous with butter, with time, with joy, because he has seen what happens when joy becomes scarce. Indulgence, to him, is not excess. It is continuity. It is the stubborn, smiling decision to keep living well anyway.
