A few streets away from my house, there is an open area with benches and intertwining trails. One can either take the main path or walk aimlessly along its many adjacent loops. And as frequently as I can, whenever I have enough free time for it, I go there to recharge.
It's a rare delight during fall. The air is crisp and smells of pines. Everywhere I look, I see my favorite palette; warm and earthy colors draped in a golden light. The echoes of birdsong and squirrels rummaging away in the dry leaves bring liveliness to the shimmering tranquility.
It feels like home.
I believe there is something truly therapeutic about standing still in a place like this for a bit. Alone, undisturbed, and with no other distraction than what you can physically register around you. Feeling the sun on your skin. Listening to the trees rustling in the wind. If you close your eyes, breathe in slowly and focus on the sensations, the calmness will surround and soothe you. I promise it. 🌳😌
