I did something really fucking convoluted to try and see if my hunch was right for the M15 prerelease. After reading various articles and sponging info, using a sealed pool generator to test the worth of all of my pools, I decided to do 10 pools of each color and average the amount of playables, as well as list the discrepancy between the pools in each color with the most and least cards played. Iāve recently updated my Sunforger list, with Oros, the Avenger at the helm. Iām not sure the edits are correct, but I really donāt know what keeps making the deck fall flat so often. Hey! Thank you for answering my question (sorry I was vague)! But you did give some ideas. U/W flicker sounds really cool, with Venser and mistmeadow witch and cloudshift and resto angel and all that. What kind of general would you recommend based off of that? I like Isperia a lot, but she doesn't flicker.
Lavinia of the Tenth and Rasputin Dreamweaver are excellent choices for straight-up UW, but you get Zedruu in red, Rubinia Soulsinger in green and Sharuum in black. Up to you, sir. :P
I'm doing an article series with my LGS and I need help from my social media outlets. It's based off deckbuilding, and it's based off submissions given to me. I need my followers to submit me the generals or cards they want to see me build a deck around, and I'll build it.
So who do you want to see me build a deck around?
I wanna build a new edh deck (preferably blue as the main color, could be mono or dual colored). LIke, I wanna play blue specifically for Tamiyo, Jace, High Tide, Venser Shaper Savant, Counterspells, Card Drawing fun (like combo/control stuff). Talrand sounded like fun with all the can trips and stuff, but he seems almost too straightforward with his game plan (beat w/ drakes). Any Suggestions for a fun commander?
Mono-blue that isn't Talrand is difficult to actually work unless you get down and dirty with Teferi (Knowledge Pool, Eye of the Storm, etc.) or Vendillion Clique (who's just plain rude).
Green helps you deal with a problem blue inherently has - mana acceleration. It also gives you access to Eternal Witness, Sylvan Primordial, Progenitor Mimic, and a bunch of busted shenanigans in general. Good generals for U/G are Prime Speaker Zegana and Edric, Spymaster of Trest.
White, on the other hand, plays the control angle extremely well with strong spot removal and potent sweepers. White can also work well with blue to flicker creatures repeatably with cards like Venser, the Sojourner and Mistmeadow Witch. Good generals for U/W are Isperia, Supreme Judge and Lavinia of the Tenth.
It's up to you, really, but if you give me a more focused game plan I can be of more use. The cards you've given me all suit a different purpose (board control, card draw, mana, tempo, permission).

Do you ever have a card in an EDH deck that is pretty much "strictly good" in the deck, but you hate it? For example, I play Savra (it's a heavy black token build around sacrificing dudes). "Army of the damned" is a pretty good fit. 13 black 2/2 tokens, and great swinging power (something the deck is lacking), but I just hate the card. I don't know why. It's boring,so I don't include it. Do you ever experience this?
I'm actually goldfishing my ever-changing Trostani list, glaring at Glare of Subdual.
It's so boring, but necessary, like Reveillark and Karmic Guide. The price we pay as EDH players...
A particular problem I have is playing Rakdos and having to play such tragic things as Tormented Soul or Goblin Fireslinger because they're so weak lategame but so necessary to cast Rakdos earlygame that you need them in the deck, but you'd so much rather just shove another crazy fattie in there to abuse with him!

Played my M14 prerelease today.
Opened Garruk and Liliana, but I couldn't play black, so I settled on Green/White with Ajani's Chosen instead. Ended 3-3, which is clearly not where I wanted to be, but it's honestly whatever because I opened Garruk and for $20 got roughly 15 packs (got door prize of a DGM sealed set), which was nice.
How'd you guys do? What'd you open?
This seems like a really interesting twist on Commander, if you guys are bored with the normal game. I wish I was back at college so I could try this with a big group!
Sounds neat. Iād like to try it.
