Art is a subjective experience, but I appreciate your honest criticism. I'll take it under advisement, and adjust my tags if necessary.

I appreciate your artwork, by the way. I sense a pain in you that is beyond words, not only to convey, but possibly even to acknowledge within yourself. Of course, you are more than free to tell me I'm full of shit, as you clearly have no qualms with speaking your mind.

But if I were to guess, based on my healthy intuition, I would consider that you are likely incredibly deep, harboring a chasm of emotions that most people don't know about. I imagine you might feel trapped in a superficial world, surrounded by people close to you who fail to understand you, and possibly even fail to try, despite the fact that they tell you that they love you. I imagine you see the world beyond the candy coated garbage, down to the scummy layers that writhe beneath. I imagine people make you uncomfortable, partly because you make them uncomfortable, and partly because you don't care that you do, and partly because you wonder if the fact that you don't care means that there actually *is* something wrong with you.

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with you. If I'm even remotely correct about any of this, then you and I are actually quite similar. I create art to help me deal with what I've seen, what I've done, and to help me reconcile the difference between those things and the person that I am. You may not appreciate my art, and that is okay. In fact, I respect it. I may not have a grasp on tumblr, and maybe you can forgive me for that. Or maybe you can't. It's no skin off my back.

Homelessness is a huge issue in my area, and something that I have personally experienced. For two years I lived on the streets, in my car, out of hotel rooms, and by the grace of my friends and their couches. During this time, I learned more about what it truly means to be wealthy than any amount of money could ever have taught me. As my way of showing my appreciation for all of the amazing support that I received, 50% of all proceeds of the sale of this artwork will be donated to support efforts to aid the homeless in my local area. And, in an effort to spread this message, Premium Downloads of this piece are priced at $1, so that even the homeless might be able to afford it.
