So sorry to ask but im so curious, does Robyn ever end up at the sierra madre and if so how does Raul react to that after the old world blues events?
IM ACTUALLY SO GLAD YOU ASKED AND I LOVE YOU
The Sierra Madre was by FAR the most traumatizing thing Robyn has ever been through. So bad that she was unable to function properly for days after returning and stayed bedridden for almost a month.
Now, while I focused a lot of lore on how Robyn felt going through all that, with how it gave her new triggers and changed her reactions to stressors and all that, I have only recently worked on how RAUL felt during that, because after OWB he had installed a little walkie-talkie-esc radio thing on her pip-boy so he could keep in touch with her all from the comfort of his shack. But, of course, when in the Sierra Madre, that radio rarely worked.
For the first few days, Raul was fine. Six is probably off gambling or doing some sort of quest. Weeks go by, now he's getting worried, so he tries to contact her. Nothing. Now he's stressed. He tries time and time again to contact her, goes and searches for her in all her usual spots, asks around- the works. Only then does he get a response from Six, saying "DAD. HELP. STUCK. FOG. SCARED. DYING. COLLAR. HELP ME. HELP. PLEASE." in a raspy, wheezy voice that sounds almost nothing like his beloved daughter.
Now hes terrified. He doesn't know where she's at, how to help her, or what to do. He searches for days, even kills a few people who he thinks may be responsible (Legionaries mostly, based on the 'collar' thing) but no matter what he can't find a sign of her.
When she came back, basically a zombie, Raul was in shambles. He hadn't eaten for days, hadn't slept for even longer, and basically thought he was hallucinating. But no, she was real. And she was there, safe and sound with only intense trauma, damaged lungs, and multiple wounds to show the story of where she had gone.
He's not the most religious man, nor was he one to cry, but as he knelt by his bed, where her recovering body laid, he silently clasped his hands together and thanked the lord through waves of tears. She eventually recovered, of course, but Raul insisted on following her on any adventure for a long while, just to make sure nothing happened to her.
Sorry for the big ramble but GOD im so insane about them PLEASE ask me more questions about them if youd like I BEG OF YOU
