Sorry for the lack of posts! Been really busy lately doing more 3D work, but decided that I needed to paint something because I’ve been missing it lately :). Maybe I should do Zuko next? :o

Been extremely busy learning Zbrush lately and having a lot of fun with it too! Based on one of Reaper’s stickers from Overwatch. I wasn’t able to match the pose of the sticker because it wasn’t translating into 3D very well, but I hope I still did the original painting justice :3.

Heh, another comparison shot. The red haired doode was from a class in college, about 4yrs ago and the old woman was done over the weekend. I find it helpful to compare images like these every once in a while just to make sure I’m actually getting better haha. And it’s also nice to see how the tips that I’ve learned about environment art can carry over to characters. I’ve also recently just picked up Zbrush and am hoping to bring the old woman to a full sculpt!

Applying what I’ve been doodling lately. Looked at people surfing for reference.

Trying to work at a smaller canvas so that I’m not getting too caught up with details and hopefully it’ll force me to stay more loose. Also letting things in light lose its details while keeping things in the shadow with more visual interest. Based off of a photo.

Been having fun doing these quick exercises!
