I was so sad to hear about the recent passing of Marion Kozak Miliband. She was a brilliant campaigner, activist and academic. She was an singatory founder of Jews for Justice for Palestinians, known as being a "long-standing supporter of left-wing pro-Palestinian organisations", and an early activist for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. She did brilliant work on women at war for the International War Museum and identified herself as a feminist. At the age of 12, she was sent to Britain alone from her sister and mother, after being taken in by a convent in Nazi-occupied Poland, her story is extremely moving and much better told here and here. Her sons, David and Ed Miliband are a testament to her strength of activism, character and politics; and the memories of her that they both recount in interviews and speeches only highlight what a force she was. May her memory be a blessing, rest in peace Marion.
