Yeah...Friday and Saturday were really busy, so this is all I got.

“You have a long life-line,” Edward says, hushed, tracing the long crease in the middle of Ling’s palm.

He stares for too long at those eyes, sifting through them, but not for answers. He’s looking for nuggets of pyrite, little pieces of deception or faux affection. He finds nothing but pure, perfect gold. “What?”

“Your hands.” Turning Ling’s hand around so he can see, he runs a finger down the center line. “Your life-line is long. Longer than most people’s.”

“Life-line?”

It’s by the rigid slant of Ed’s shoulders that Greed thinks killshot. They’ve been foraging together the last few mornings. You’re scheming, Ling thinks. Greed grins. Slotted sunlight casts Ed’s automail and berry-basket golden.

"Aw, you knew it was me." Ling laughed, coming to a stop by his bed. "Come on, open your eyes!"

"I don't want to." He whined.

"Just do it, Ed!" It was hard to refuse when Ling sounded so cheery. When Ed found the strength to open his eyes and flop his head to look over, he spotted a wheelchair leaning against Ling's side. His confusion must've been clear on his face, as Ling grinned at him playfully. "You need to get out of this room, you know. I snuck in just to do this for you. You should be grateful."
