"About what?" Shane asked easily from the other line, sounding only mildly concerned. “You being an asshole? Pretty sure we were right about-”

"Your parents. They do not like me, they hate me." His stomach was in knots just admitting it, his heart aching in his chest. Fuck, but Yuna and David had been so nice over the summer...had he done something? Or was it just...him? His personality, his reputation? He obviously didn't deserve Shane, but he wished the Hollanders had given him a chance...

Shane let out a laugh of disbelief. "Rozanov, my mom offered to help you set up brand deals. That's like...an 'I love you' from her. What makes you think they hate you, all of a sudden?"

He sighed, shaking his head with sorrow. "Yuna and David, they texted me. 'Break a leg in first game,' they say. They want me to be injured, Shane, I–"

"Oh my god, no, Ilya!" Shane interrupted, laughing out loud. "It's an expression! Like...they're wishing you good luck! They want you to do well!"

He paused, head tilting to the side, considering that. Then he removed his phone from his ear and read the text again:

Hey Ilya! We know it's your first game today, so we just wanted to say, break a leg! Love, Yuna and David

"Oh," he murmured, returning the phone to his ear.

"Yeah. And trust me, the fact that they wished you luck? After the way they’ve shit on Boston for years?" Shane chuckled. "They like you. A lot," he reassured him, a smile in his voice.

Ilya grinned, his body turning warm, his tense muscles slowly relaxing. "Okay."

After they hung up, he stared at the text again for several seconds, smiling softly. Then, he replied, 'thank you. i will score goal for you.'

He scored twice, one for each of them.

when regulus started his first year of hogwart, no one suffered more than narcissa

she was really excited to see her baby cousin everyday at school, really excited. that was before regulus immediately walked up to lucius malfoy and told him: "my cousin thinks your hair looks nice"

and everyday since, regulus would casually tell lucius embarrassing little things like that, wether it was about how much narcissa talked about him during break or the stack of letters she spent hours writing to him. it was like all of sudden regulus had no filter (in hindsight, growing up with only his family around it made sense that he didn't think before he spoke)

what narcissa didn't know was that all those little things regulus told lucius, well, they gave him enough courage to ask out narcissa. if regulus' words were to be trusted then it meant that narcissa fancied lucius as much he fancied her

this is just one of the many reasons why narcissa and lucius absolutely adore regulus
