The Israeli incursion into the heart of Gaza City has forced countless families to flee south, leaving behind their homes, memories, and everything they hold dear. Imagine over 2 million people crammed into an area smaller than 40 kilometers, struggling to survive under constant bombardment. Streets that were once filled with life are now ruins; hospitals are overwhelmed, and basic necessities are scarce. Children are terrified, families are torn apart, and nowhere feels safe. This is not a battle it is collective punishment, a humanitarian nightmare unfolding in real time, and the world cannot turn away.

“I should never have left you.” – Judy Hopps, Zootopia 2 2025

You can definitely tell Judy regrets leaving Nick at the Honeymoon lodge, but I think it even goes beyond that. Judy regrets leaving him behind, period. At the water tube, she also regrets that. At the gala, leaving him behind to chase Gary. At the boat after they are discovered, she chases Gary down again without consulting Nick.

Every. Single. Moment. She regrets. Now I’ll bet my LIFE that Judy will think twice before leaving him behind and Nick will follow her closely. These two canonically have separation anxiety now.

Will we get to see Nick from Judy's perspective in Z3? Yes, I believe so! I'm gonna try to keep this short, but I'll tell you why!

The movie compares the two of how they act after being given the news that if they fail an assignment they’d be split up. One doesn’t seem all that bothered to study, while the other does.

This could just mean that one likes to be prepared for everything while the other takes things as they go. Which is true to their characters… but I think there is another reason.

Nick doesn’t care what everyone else thinks, Judy does. That’s because she has insecurities from people underestimating her just cause she is a rabbit and seeks external validation by others.

Now I want to focus on that, the external validation part. In Judy’s mind if they don’t prove to everyone else that Nick and her are great partners then that means everyone else was right in that they don’t work well together.

But she thinks: we do work well together. We solved one of the biggest cases in Zootopia, as partners. That has to count for something. Right? Besides, we’re not that much different. We can work.

So she pushes herself and seems to leave Nick behind, a lot. She forgets she’s not alone in this anymore. She forgot the partnership of it.

But that doesn’t mean Judy does not care about Nick in the slightest. Quite the contrary, she cares for him so deeply about him. But she also understands that the world has to come first because that is her job. She’s been dreaming about becoming a cop ever since she was 9 YEARS OLD! And she said so herself she does have a bunny hero complex. So she’s going to dive head first into anything that might help someone else no matter what happens to her.

During the water tube scene, Judy doesn’t listen to Nick about running out of air if she continues chasing after Gary and leaves him behind.

People get mad about this because they think: ‘is she really gonna let Nick drown??’

But what they don’t take into consideration is this: Nick could have easily just left Judy as well to continue chasing after Gary. She wasn’t keeping him hostage in that tube and was most likely expecting him to escape it without her to save himself. She doesn’t know that Nick is afraid of losing her yet and will follow her anywhere, even into danger. So I think it’s a little unreasonable to hold it over her and use it as evidence that ‘she doesn’t care about him at all’. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Dawg the more that I think about it the more I realize how heartbroken she sounds and how heartbreaking of a realization that is— to realize the person you’ve chosen as your closest confidante, the person that matters most to you in the world, the one who believed in you when no one else did, disagrees with your core belief in making the world a better place.

(I don’t actually think he disagrees he just worded it wrong because, y’know, emotional insecurity)

Now imagine Nick. The best thing to ever happen to you was this bunny coming into your life and changing your perspective of it. She brings you nothing but joy, she’s the most important person in your life, up until now she has done nothing but try and prove that the two of you belong together despite your differences. You never minded your differences and always tuned out naysayers but now, to you, she’s saying “maybe we don’t belong together.”

Thinking about Caleb spoiling you with his colonel salary.

As children he worked hard earning what little money he could to buy you sweet treats and little toys at the local convenience stores.

You were overjoyed with everything he bought you. It didn’t matter if it was cheap or fixed together with glue after the flimsy plastic broke. Caleb was the one who gave it to you so it automatically meant the world to you. Even if you broke the toy or craved more sweets, Caleb would smile and give you more.

But now, with his extremely generous pay, he can spoil you all he wants just as he’s always wanted too. Don’t get him wrong, he’s loved giving you your hearts desires as a kid. But that’s just it, he could only give you so much. Grandma didn’t always pay for everything, mainly the necessities. So he couldn’t always throw his money around.

Now though, he can buy you those designer bags, expensive makeup, artisan craftsmanship tools, the latest gaming console, high quality sports equipment or anything else you desire. His card knows no limits.

It took you a while to get used to it. Going from budget dinners as a kid and instant food when you were grieving his death became luxury banquets. Of course, all paid and provided for by Caleb. It was foreign. But not unwelcome.

He always reassured you that he wants to pay for you. It makes his heart grow three times seeing you scarf down premium meets, fresh vegetables and decadent desserts. Providing for you and ensuring you’re well taken care of is all he wants and needs.

Whatever hobby, beauty service or vacation you want is paid by him. You couldn’t be happier.

And all he asks in return is for you to stay with him and spend the next hundred years together.

Out of the Blue is a romance/mystery/fantasy interactive fiction set in Regency Era England for anyone (like me) who is obsessed with Jane Austen and other period dramas, and always dreamed of being transported into that world to find romance and intrigue.

It’s also just a lighthearted project I’m working on to practice my writing skills and get familiar with Twine as a platform for other interactive fiction projects that I have in the works. Definitely a WIP, so characters and plot might change throughout.
