so, here are my main thoughts on how ganbare nakamura kun is going so far (the anime)
the last episode so far was absolutely heartbreaking. as a queer person, one of the most painful parts of growing up is liking someone so much just to be heartbroken because they dont like the same gender. this show captures that absolutely heartbreak that most of us have gone through. that crying in your pillow so hard that you get a headache after kind of heartbreak.
i think the part where they showed him walking by and seeing so many hetero couples just really sealed the deal on the queer experience. it really just makes you feel awful and awkward and uncomfortable hearing how the majority of society gets to be "normal" while you are suffering a kind of heartbreak they probably will never know.
i love how they actually showed that part of the queer experience. HOWEVER..
i REALLY hope that the anime has an original ending where he actually gets the boy. i am so tired of all of these queer medias having the ending be about learning to be okay with yourself versus actually getting the ending they want. there are so many straight romance stories that end in happy couples, but there are significantly less queer stories that have that same outcome. i am tired of always having to find ourselves. i sincerely hope that nakamura gets the boy, for all of the little queer kids that need to see that they can be happy.
why the fuck was the latest episode of Go for it, Nakumura Kun so damn relatable 😭
Seriously. That one scene of Nakumara walking while being surrounded by a bunch of heterosexual couples after learning that Hirose has a girlfriend might be the single most relatable thing I've ever seen. Something like that happens to almost every queer person who's lived in an unaccepting, heteronormative culture (which I'm sure is all of us). Honestly, I hate how relatable this episode was. I hate it, but I love it. I'm not sure what I want the ending of this series to be. God. I literally cried at this episode it was so heartbreaking.
And you always know, deep down, that they're probably never going to actually date you, but it still hurts like hell when it happens. Because you're just a fucking 15 year old who has dreams of falling in love like most other people, the only difference is, you love the same gender.
I've also been exactly here before
You think you're fine with just being friends, but then, they start dating, and your whole world turns upside down. Reading too much into your friendship until you start having hope, and then it being ripped away. It fucking hurts.
Anyways.
I'm sobbing in the corner untill ep 13 comes out 😭
this sums up exactly how i felt about the episode and it breaks my heart to think about
Finally crying into your pillow representation
honestly this hurt so much to watch because there is no greater pain for a queer teenager than finding out your crush is straight

the vivid sensory-memory of sucking water out of a washcloth as a child
i feel like a minority when i say i prefer bottom katsuki over top katsuki
dkbk is always superior
oh my god that sequence in the new ep of nakamura walking alone in the crowd and tuning in to random conversation snippets of the heteronormative couples around him?????????
they really captured the otherness of growing up queer and the very specific grief of finding out that your crush is probably straight
how does it feel to be an icon
It’s exhausting all the time, nobody gets it 💔
and they never will understand 💔
i wish ao3 had an option to see WHEN you left kudos if they insist on not letting you do kudos twice

just saw someone say "a fandom is small, so like only 1-3 fics posted per day" . you wouldnt survive a day in the place where im from
one of my fandoms isnt even on ao3 im starving
imagine six thousand people read your journal every single day . thank fuck only like 10 of you max interact with me
"you already left kudos here"
And??? Let me like it again??? Clearly it deserves more??
Reblog if it's okay to invade your ask box
Always
I think ao3 is literally the only site where no censorship means no censorship. you can post the most vile things on there — things that will get taken down on any other platforms — and ao3 will protect you, your works, and your rights to create whatever you want, however you want.
and no, this isn’t me saying “write that messed up, disgusting thing” because while, yes, write it if it’s what you want (I myself enjoy writing dark fics, something I believe would be considered “vile” to a lot of people), this is me saying in a world of censorship and capitalism, ao3 really is a treasure.
everybody say thank you ao3

“ships should at least make sense.” no. ships can make sense, sure. but they’re just fictional characters we play with for fun. they’re fantasies, not a fucking thesis paper. so no, they don’t always have to make sense. they just have to make you happy (or horny).
let people enjoy (fictional) things however they want to enjoy.
do we all have the shared experience of our parents finding our fanfic
