Final version of my fanart for game Dishonored, that I was soo inspired. Adore these old brick houses and rusty roofs, and spent a lot of time on searching color scheme, cuz I wanted to convey that /funerary misty-green atmosphere. Also wanted to share with you that mood of factory, smell of smoky and dying city, where bandits and plague victims are rot in the dark depths. p.s. Btw, if anyone wants to buy a poster with this, send me DM. And open for commissions like that.
You won! The enemy Red Dragon dropped something! (Gained 20,000 EXP and Falin's Body)
One pet peeve I like to have with acotar worldbuilding (and what inspirate me and other people to hc their own Prythian) is the weak deisgn of the fae, which I'm reminded of when I see fanarts of the archerons sisters -- if in a world of super models with pointy ears, it would be interesting if Elain and Nesta had came back out of the Cauldron physically different; horns, scales, rainbow skin colours, pointy-fluffly hears, antennas, give me something that states that these girls are not human anymore but neither are fae bc they were Made; the Cauldron burned their skin out until the bones, then remade them as how the fae once were. Feyre was ressurrected by the high lords; she appears the same standard fmc but then... Why her skin is so prickly? Why there is furr growing under her pointy ears? Since when her teeths are that sharp? If its not clear that you are not human anymore, look yourself in the mirror. See what the fae land gave to you now that you belong to It

The fact that ANYONE thinks Jane Eyre is some cheesy old timey novel and not a book that is both METAL and HILARIOUS should be considered a crime. During her childhood Jane is constantly told she’s the woOOOrst (mostly because she’s inquisitive and quite plain). In fact a priest-type dude comes into her house being like “do you know what happens to terrible little girls?” and she says “yeah they go to hell” “so what must you do so you don’t end up there?” and her reply? “I guess I should just not die BITCH”. Jane is 10 when she says this… her power. Then when her aunt scolds her one too many times girl spits out a Shakespeare level monologue/roast about how her aunt is awful™ and is going to be haunted by Jane’s father for being such a royal bitch and her aunt is so freaked out that she literally starts being nice to her for the first time (honestly I think she was legit scared she had accidentaly adopted the Devil and did not want to mess with that shit). Oh you thought it was a soft nice little romance afterwards? Jane meets Rochester🤡 who is fifty shades of batshit. He literally spends chunks of the book fucking with his rich acquaintances just cause and sideeyeing Jane like “Did you see that?? Jane did you notice that? What do you think Jane?? Tell me your thoughts Jane, WASN’T THAT FUNNY???” And the best part is she reacts to every one of his antics with perfect composure so much so that HE freaks out and ends up dressing as a fortune teller to get her to tell him what she actually thinks. This young girl who was told to shut the fuck up at every turn is suddely called again and again to give her opinion and boy does she give it. She calls him ugly TO HIS FACE and he immediately falls in love. She in turn falls for him so hard but is so sure he couldn’t possibly like her that she DRAWS A PORTRAIT OF HERSELF AND THEN A PORTRAIT OF A “BEAUTIFUL” WOMAN AS A VERY PRACTICAL WAY TO REMIND HERSELF THAT SHE’S NOT PRETTY. Gurl 😭 that’s so sad and also way too overdramatic, you guys deserve each other. Meanwhile the house is very obviously haunted but Jane hasn’t noticed which is peak comedy for such a usually observant protagonist. I mean, a man has a chunk of his flesh bitten off and when Rochester says everything’s fine she just accepts it. “Oh but Jane gives it all up for a man see??? She has no agency” When she thinks he’s going to marry another woman but still intends to keep her as a governess she has my favourite dialogue in the entire book where she says: “Just because I am poor and plain it doesn’t mean I’m not still a PERSON WITH FEELINGS. IF I WAS HOT AND RICH I COULD HAVE MADE YOU AS PAINFULLY IN LOVE WITH ME AS I AM WITH YOU. I DO NOT ADRESS YOU FROM THIS MORTAL FLESH BUT IT IS MY SPIRIT ADRESSING YOURS AS THOUGH WE DIED AND STOOD AS EQUALS AT GODS FEET, AS WE ARE”. She’s 18 in this part of the book… HER POWER. She later finds out ON HER WEDDING DAY to Rochester that he is already married to a woman he has locked up in the attic because she’ll attack anything that moves (I mean she very obviously has a mental illness which has caused her to be violent but back at that time there weren’t many or even any humane options for treatment so unpopular opinion but the fact that he kept her in his house and with a maid to take care of her was probably the best he could provide her with in this situation tbh) Jane runs away and wanders the moors all alone because she knows what happened wasn’t right (and this is her rational reaction, i love her and also probably same) and while half dead she finds some people who turn out to be her COUSINS (GASP), she gets a job, inherits a fortune and gets another marriage proposal like a #girlboss. But then she has a “That’s so Raven” vision telling her Rochester is in trouble. Turns out his house burned down and he’s now scarred and blind and his wife is dead. Accurate recreation of their reunion;
Rochester: Am I mad ugly now Jane?
Jane: Oh for sure. But you know, same as always.
Rochester with tears in his eyes: I missed that woman so much
Jane starts the story underappreciated, poor, belittled and unequal to Rochester (in terms of power). She ends the book appreciated, loaded, loved and a true equal to the man she loves. And that’s the most metal thing of all.
we have to thank our brave soldiers in fandom who write gen fics. we have to thank our brave soldiers in fandom who write character studies and stories with no focus on romance or sex. we have to get on our knees and thank the brave soldiers in fandom who write about minor characters and friendship and family with no focus on romance or sex. i know it’s hard to care about characters in a world that seems to only revolve around ships but i see you. and i love you
A lil drawing made between classes on college and watching rpg sessions. The perspective must be flawed BUT I had fun doing this
it's been too long since i last drew the last (4) jedi original trilogy au, so had to fix that <3

I make game-inspired whales using mixed crafting techniques
No one:
Me: hey wouldn't it be fucked up if the fae in acotar, especially the high fae have almost zero biological redundancies? And that's why they're so "perfect"? Because the daglan essentially cultivated them as livestock with what would be the most desirable traits to consume from fae?And now all the fae post invasion are now so far removed from the original indigenous fae population that they are basically husks of what they were?
@goldenspringmornings
very interesting👀 how would they even quantify beauty for consumption?? does magic taste different in fae from different courts?? what would prythian’s native high fae truly look like- would they be more like the inhuman/uncanny valley fae from irl or just straight monstrous?? why would the daglan make them essentially Human+ and was that intentional??
much to think about now that I’m finally on vacation from work
I love the direction your going with questions. We gotta be more evil with the world building.
Im thinking...beauty is a trait incidentally bred into them bc it's an adaption to prevent daglan from outright consuming them when they're "ripe"
That ripeness is determined more by how much magic the fae body can basically contain and hold at any moment. And for the most part the daglan/asteri process goes: magic, soul, body and the sadistic ones take it slow. :)
Magic has a flavor, and it's relatively unique to each wielder, with each track of magic tasting different. A mage who does fire and healing magic may taste spicy and stringy for example.
The og fae of prythian were definitely more monstrous, entities born from passion and nature, and happily lived alongside humans without too many issues. But the current fae being human+ is 1000% by design of the daglan.
They started consuming humans first, realized that the fae are more nourishing, but humans easier to capture and keep so...
I definitely want to hear your thoughts on this too, cause now I'm thinking about the wider implications of this. Do the fae know this? Are they ignorant to what truly was done to them, glorifying their oppressors? If not, do they resent their current state, blaming the humans for not fighting back (despite being enslaved too)? Is *this* in particular what rhysand was paranoid of, thinking that if the daglan invade once again, he'll be first on the chopping block?? God this is so juicy to think about.
(The daglan/asteri are extradimensional beings who invaded lunathion to eventually consume it and its confirmed (as well as sjm can) that prior to this, they invaded and reshaped prythian to do the same to it, corrupting the cauldron for those purposes, fyi)
sooo beauty as a survival mechanism is what I’m hearing lol- like birds developing bright plumage to confuse a predator but also attract a mate- pretty high fae live longer and have a higher chance of breeding passing on the “pretty” gene
more than likely they’re ignorant of their predecessors, the generations of oppression burying or destroying even the memory’s of who and what they once were/could be, which could be why the fae in turn enslaved the humans for so long- a misguided retaliation against what the lost and where forced to become. seeing your face in the people who’s suffering you took over for so long it changed you eternally
the high lords were probably a consequence of breeding for more/stronger magic. I don’t like giving Rhysand the validation but if he is actually the strongest high lord he’d be the prefect meal for a starving daglan
the corruption of the cauldron though that’s crunchy because that’s the origin of life on prythian and now it’s hurt, damaged- just like it’s people- lashing out in pain and anguish with its purpose corrupted. it could explain just how much nesta is able to steal from it and how much it changes her- she was sucking poison from a festering wound so to speak pulling death from life- and her sacrifice of it for feyre and nyx lives healing the magic she took as she releases it
Oooh that would be so painful- imagine some of the oldest fae, the few who survived the invasion, a wolf amongst dogs, watching with each generation of these new, weaker fae draw even further from what they were; becoming the same or worse than their original oppressors, possibly beginning to fade away when the wall goes up.
Some of them desperately trying to keep records of what actually happened, of family, culture and truth, slowly getting buried underneath propaganda and time...
I don't wanna validate rhysand either, but if he's the strongest of the hls, yeah he's going to be the first to be devoured. He's also made it worse for himself because 1. If he (and armen) are the only ones to know this and haven't informed anyone else, there's no way to find allies to help defend from invasion and 2. Rhysand has set up the most enticing feast for daglan in velaris' infrastructure. The inner circle are the fattest fish in a barrel of their own creation.
You're right on the money with the cauldron though, it's hurt severely and grieving, so it lashes out to communicate it's pain; and the effects of it lashing out are so severe and vast because this is the closest thing to a creator god the planet has. The cauldron cannot do small. It favored elain because her fear and pain reflected and numbed it's own while hating nesta for stealing from it despite that act ultimately freeing it from corruption. After all, cleaning an infected, old wound with no anesthesia is incredibly painful (and nesta WAS trying to hurt it) and the cauldron is constantly in immense pain, wanting its aggressors (even if they're victims themselves) to be hurt as much as it is hurting.
The cauldron possibly realizing that it's now mostly corruption free and healed entirely by nesta (unknowingly) sacrificing the corrupt magic for feyre and nyx gives a new context to the bargain. It can't undo whatever harm and pain its caused to her, but the cauldron can provide the power for nesta to find her own peace as a thank you/iou/apology.
the prison being the last of prythian’s native fae and the remains of the dusk court would be soo tragic- the inhabitants being the last living beings to remember a time when the world wasn’t the stagnant wound they see it as now confined in cells to relive their torture for all eternity
Rhysand has to be the smartest male in prythian- hoarding all that power in the hopes of turning it against the daglan- or the stupidest though unfortunately I have to lean toward the first one simply because nesta and elain being cauldron made and nesta’s control of not only the dread trove but also her own personal trove (that they need to tell her ass about rn I’m not joking) as well as her potentially healing a bit of the cauldron
it would be sooo interesting to see how a healed cauldron interacts with prythian- how matebonds are formed and what children look like after. do babies look just slight differently than their parents? their incisors just slight sharper, their ears just a little more pointed- something just this side of unsettling no one can exactly put their finger on. are mates less about eugenics and more about love again/for the first time? does it change the bonds already formed and accepted? (could it dissolve nessian’s bond pls im begging free her)
In a big whale mood today and yall are just gonna have to suffer the consequences

I wonder if Falin remembers her time with Thistle and Thistle alone, how she feels about working with the lunatic magician but also witness a paranoid boy (who didn’t mentally aged the past 1,000 if I’m not wrong) wholeheartedly believing he’s protecting his home, his people. Wonder how Falin feels when people talk about the Lunatic Magician
