my #StrattTake is that there should be an event horizon to her character once the last big decisions are made (forcing grace on the mission, signing the last orders, etc) after which the hail mary's launch is largely out of her hands where she becomes exponentially more self destructive with every second that passes

we know that there's heroin on the ship. we also know that grace likely suffered from scurvy, rickets, and starvation toward the end of the trip to erid. put those two facts together and we get a grace who is hooked on heroin because it helps the pain of slowly, slowly dying. when the supply runs out... well. rocky gets to see the horrors of withdrawl up close and personal.
