When was the last time anyone ever told you how important you are?

“do you drink because you’re just having fun or do you drink because after awhile when you look down at the bottle you realize you can’t remember my touch my lips my voice my heart six shots later your heart becomes just as dark as your whiskey and I am just a sunken ship in the ocean of your memories”

“As I get older, I’ve learned to love myself more. I’ve learned to accept my flaws and to appreciate my strengths. I’ve learned to spend more time with myself and to reflect what I’ve achieved or what I must be proud of and enhance. I’ve learned to treat myself better down from the smallest act of “self-love” up to the biggest. And most of all, I’ve learned to ignore what may other people say and focus on the things that make me happy.”

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it’s yours.

I’m a little different now because of you.

The most intimate thing we can do is to allow people we love most see us at our worst. At our lowest. At our weakest. True intimacy happens when nothing is perfect.

Here is the truth: It is hard to be in love with someone who is in love someone else. I don’t know how to turn that into poetry.

To love somebody isn’t just a strong feeling. It’s a decision, a judgement and a promise.

Cherish your own emotions and never undervalue them.
