normally, selene doesn’t like to venture to the village of book ends by herself. it just seems weird to be in an area alone where others have come to spend time with friends. honestly, she never really likes spending time alone, mostly because loneliness is something she had experienced for too long. 

the cheerful laughter and excitement in the atmosphere sends a shiver down her spine. soon, the thoughts of her past and solitary wandering is silenced. the drifting aroma of freshly baked treats drift towards her from a nearby bakery, and selene doesn’t think twice before following the delectable scent to its source. 

the bakery front is cute, decorated in pink with swirling calligraphy that draws the passerby’s attention right away. it helps that the smell of pastries are emitting from this very establishment, and there’s already a handful of customers lining up to get their own treat. selene stops in front of the bakery window, staring at the mouthwatering delicacies. 

selene is about to take a step into the store when she realizes the problem. she doesn’t know any of the names of the treats (and it doesn’t occur to her that there might just be names of those treats in the bakery). her entire expression deflates in that one thought, and she is suddenly at a lost.

not during one second she even considered walking in, though. how could she? there were no one to accompany her, and she had no idea what to even do when entering this over sweet smelling store. should she introduce herself? check the papers as the humans were doing? offer to fix a broken chair, only to make its situation worse? those seem rash and impulsive calls, and aurae is not like that!

a voice by her side makes the girl lower her chestnut orbs to the smaller human, and oh, it was not her voice or an illusion--and that fact itself is enough for her to perk up a little: shoulders back, nose up, lips stretched in a smile. she knows when to make an appearance and she doesn’t oppose some showing off (especially after hours of being almost invisible around here).
