( * she insists to the twin. but she knew that would fall on deaf ears and zeke doesn’t take no for an answer. proven correct when he extends his hand out and asks to dance. * ) alright. alright then, just don’t step on me, you goofball. ( * she caves in, knowing that grin could somehow easily turn the tables for her. even though it was sometimes borderline chilling. the doe takes her best friend’s hand gently.* )

zeke, i don’t– ( * he starts to speak up, confused by the sudden heaviness in the air, like something important is happening right now. he doesn’t understand, not yet, why the other is saying these things about forever and losing him. he can do nothing but watch in pure shock as zeke reaches into his pockets to pull out a small box and gets down on one knee. he’s bringing a hand up to cover his mouth, shaking his head before the male even says a word because this is unreal. this is a dream. his heart swells at every word the other says, the weight of the situation not fully setting in yet. this isn’t a proposal, but a promise. ) oh my god. oh my god, i– yes. ( * wren ignores the box being held out to him completely, dropping to his knees and almost throwing himself at the other. he can’t keep the tears in any longer, sobbing freely as he holds onto zeke for dear life. ) of course, i can’t imagine a life without you; you’re my whole world.

He hears a voice and he shoots his now pale eyes towards the source ) It’s it ( ‵ he says in a simple phrase, Zeke would know that, Kay has told him before, and Zeke’s the only one who knows about it ) I need– to get away from here ( ‵ he forces himself to mumble )

{ *// he knows where they’re headed, since he’s spent hours beforehand trying to get things right - with the school’s permission, of course. } uh - nope. we’re just... taking a walk. in the enchanted forest. { *// he forces a saccharine smile that he hopes is passable. } it’s great out here tonight, anyway, and it’s nice to take a break from everyone inside. { *// it’s a lie, since zeke walks purposefully instead of a leisurely stroll, headed to the heart of the forest. he knows they’re nearing when he spots the familiar markings he’s left, and glances back at wren anxiously. } okay, uh- { *// zeke leads his boyfriend to the center where it looks absolutely breathtaking, the lights casting a dim glow on everything in the forest which gives it an otherworldly luminescence. } surprise, love.
