Her fingertip traces the martini glass in front of her, and as casual as she can play it, Six looks over her shoulder at all the people who come and go with their own lives and problems. Sometimes it’s nice, feeling like a fly on the wall, to ignore her loneliness for a change and see outside of herself. She pokes the toothpick that’s floating with an olive around in her drink.

“You a courier too?” She laughs, her question playful when she meets his gaze again. She really can’t call herself a Courier anymore, ”S’pose I just don’t make the time for it, really.” And it isn’t a lie, because she really doesn’t. Company isn’t afforded to a lady like her. Like a bitter toast, silently to herself, Six takes a sip.

“You’ll have to excuse just how corny this is then, but what’re you doin’ in a place like this? Lookin’ to wallow, or lookin’ to fix it?”

❛ Oh , yeah, something like that. ❜ He imagines there must be other similarities between couriers and merceneries , right ? And right now, he isn’t working. Hasn’t been in some time actually , though it’s more a lifestyle than an occupation. It takes him a moment to realize he doesn’t have to say any of this aloud. He’s thankful. 

And at the very least , lack of proper title doesn’t rob him of any charm. ❛ I suppose I chose this night to come here on great luck then , if you’re finally making time for it. ❜ The nerves remain nonetheless, and he drops his gaze to his glass, swirling it around in his hand so that the amber liquid within sloshes against the sides.
