@horrorempathy liked for a Jesse starter [x]
Jesse wasn’t one for partying but he did enjoy bonfire nights. Drinking shitty beer while mingling with friends or sitting off to the side with Dina occupying his lap wasn’t all that bad a pass time. He was wholly dedicated to his role in the community, however, and that dedication often led to fights between him and Dina. But somehow, they always gravitated back toward each other. Maybe it was because they’d known each other for so long that it just became the norm. They were long-time friends. Teenage sweethearts. He cherished this girl but he could be a fucking idiot sometimes. That particular night, he had a couple of beers in him but held his alcohol fairly well. Someone had placed a black leather cowboy hat onto his head (while making the obligatory cowboy jokes) and he decided that he would wear it for the remainder of the night. It was kind of funny. So he ambled up to Dina with a goofy smile, wrapping his arms around her from behind and pressing his lips to her cheek.
“Hey, D.”
@horrorempathy asked: ’ Does that mean you saw what happened to me? ’ / from Emily.
He rested his head in his hands as he listened to her. These days, she was always a voice. At least, that’s what he thought. He had seen her still in stone for so long, his carefully laid plans still patching themselves together, that he often wondered if her presence here was entirely in his mind or if she had finally broken herself free of her prison and was here to punish him.
“Yes.” Was what he managed to utter in response, hands running down his aged face as he looked at her, though his eyes seemed hollow. Mad. Rife with visions of things that went along with the constant chattering of the rats that swarmed amongst his feet. “I’ve always seen it. In my nightmares. Every chance I didn’t have to save you.”
His lips parted into a slight smile and he stood up from the throne, his hands moved out as though as an offering towards her. “But it’s alright. I took care of everything. Everyone. Every opposition someone might have had against you, I have quelled!”
Perfect, Emily. He had finally, totally, entirely made it perfect for her to return to. Now all he needed to do was make it so that no one could ever rip her from his hands again. He offered his hand to her as a peace offering, perhaps a show of good faith. A desire that she would see what he saw for her now. Saw the perfect kingdom he could once again hand back to her.
𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄'𝐒 𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐀 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒. It’s the middle of summer but the sun hasn’t peeked over the hills just yet and there’s a cool breeze creeping through the tent as he’s rolling the sleeping bag up and shoving it into the casing. He’s been waiting for an out ever since Rick had come back from the dead. Lori had turned on him first, pushing him away from herself and Carl making it difficult to hide their past from her husband; and it didn’t help that Dale was watching him like a hawk, ready to whisper into anyone’s ear who’d listen that Shane couldn’t be trusted. It’s just as well, makes it easier for him to pack up and leave them all behind without a second thought.
The birds are singing, he’s rubbing the back of his freshly shaved head, missing the full head of hair the way he missed who he was before he left Rick in that hospital alone. Before he slept with his best friends wife. Before he had to choose between friendship and family, and survival. This farm, and everyone occupying it had been holding him back, pulling him in different directions, pushing him to his limits when it came to patience and sanity. It’s not an easy decision to make, leaving old friends behind, but it was better for them all; and it was better for himself if he made the cut clean.
Bag is slung over his shoulder as he exits the tent, he’ll leave it for someone else to use. It’s best to leave before anyone wakes. Easier when you don’t have to go through saying your goodbye’s; would any of them care anyway? It’s a short trek outside of the property line where he left the vehicle the night before so no one would hear their exit. Andrea had made it apparent that she wanted to leave with him, but there’s still doubt lingering in the back of his mind as he approaches the green hyundai and she’s nowhere to be found. Maybe she changed her mind? Maybe she was just running late? He wouldn’t blame her if she chose to stay. He pops the trunk, tossing the bag in and grabbing the shotgun he had stashed, sitting on the edge of the trunk with the weapon resting in his lap. He’ll give her ten minutes before he heads out. Until sunrise. That’s it. @horrorempathy

carol danvers voice: hi tony. your facial hair could use a little tune up but i still appreciate everything you do.
“you know? you’re one of my favorites--or should i say WERE. but... the feeling’s mutual. except that part where you dissed my facial hair maintenance. cause just...wow. you did that..”
----- SO THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE - THE BLISS. micah knew this meeting would be inevitable the moment she set foot in faith’s territory but - it was something she had to do - she couldn’t leave the sheriff and the people in henbane river to their fate. to suffer. all because of fear. HER FEAR. ( i was blissed enough because of john’s capture party and those fucking bullets ). henbane river is covered in it and this confrontation was bound to happen anyway. rook just wish she could have held it off for awhile longer -- maybe years more longer.
‘ -- where is he? -- where’s the marshall? ‘ if she could be honest - micah really didn’t care too greatly for the man. would even leave him to his fate because if it wasn’t for him and his pushing. no used in dwelling on it. but bringing him up will keep the conversation from drifting into other areas - and rook does not want to deal with that yet. or ever. ‘faith -- where is he?’

"Hey! Fancy meeting YOU here." Ming just casually stands against the wall like she doesn't have a very important an expensive object in her hand. Out of everyone that showed up, did it have to be Carol Danvers? So anyway - Ming just flicks on her power and then she glides through the wall. Sorry, Carol.
“ i’d say i’m surprised to find you here but, you know what, i’m not really surprised. “ she’s eyeing the orb in ming’s hand with a slight frown, “ i’d let you get away with just about anything else in here, ming, but you & i both know that that cannot leave here. “ if it ended up in the wrong hands, yada yada -- there’s a deep sigh as the shorter woman disappears through the wall. “ alright, going to play it like that then. “
it only takes a nifty photon blast to reduce the wall to dust & rubble, carol taking off after the thief with a smirk. don’t tell anyone, but she rather enjoys their little cat & mouse games. “ if you give it back i’ll have stark pay you double whatever your buyer is offering. “
