Mookhi - Lacunae
Mookhi is an electronic and hip hop artist from Sydney. She produces her own music. Her style of music is captivating and easy to listen. Some parts of her music are complex and others are simple. No matter what it is, it really captures my interest and I find it to be excellent music.
Lacunae is a completely electronic track and makes for some really interesting beats that can easily have you relaxed. Itās a great song honestly, being extremely easy to listen to. No lyrics, just electronic sounds and beats that overall creates a ridiculously chill track.
This song goes for 2 minutes and 49 seconds so itās relatively short. That doesnāt matter though, it doesnāt take anything away from how good the track is. Itās still a great listen!Ā
Thereās not much else to say about this electronic track. Definitely give it a listen, along with Mookhiās other music. Sheās got some great songs already so make sure to listen to them too if youāre interested!

When I met her in the club I asked her who she felt. Then she went and put that booty on that Gucci belt.
Chance the Rapper (DJ Khaledās Iām the One feat. Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper, Quavo, and Justin Bieber)
Genesis Owusu - Goondocks//CBR Zoo
Genesis Owusu is an 18-year-old artist from Canberra, Australia and heās got the potential to make it big.
Heās an incredibly young artist, and is already bringing out fire! This track, called Goondocks//CBR Zoo combines the genres of hip-hop and jazz. This is obviously an unlikely mix of two genres, and it is a bit strange. However, he made this combination sound great and itās definitely something I havenāt really heard much of before. I canāt compare him to any other artists yet, and thatās a great thing for him. His unique style of music, especially in this track, shows that he can bring something new to the music industry.
The song starts off right away with some smooth jazz using the saxophone. He uses the saxophone on almost the entirety of the track, also including saxophone solos. The sax is used incredibly well and definitely supports the overall sound with Genesis rapping over it. The chorus of the song is hype! Then smoothly, it goes back into the dope beat with the saxophone and the flames. Basically, throughout this entirety of the song, you can just sit back, relax, and vibe. Ā
As a big fan of rap, hip-hop, and even jazz, I try not to be biased but honestly this is an excellent track and I want to hear more of what heās got. Itās just incredibly refreshing to hear something new like this. Genesis could be a game changer in hip-hop and Iād recommend fans of the genre to follow him and his music.

YOUNG MONKS - Bad Bad Freddy
YOUNG MONKS, a 5-person band from Canberra, Australia (yes thereās only four in the picture). These guys sure know how to write a hell of a song.
Bad Bad Freddy is their latest track and boy is it good! The quality of the music, vocals, production, and lyrics are all really tight. It also gives off a sweet, groovy vibe that reminds me of Twenty Ćne PilĆøts and Sticky Fingers.Ā
Right from the beginning, youāll already be moving your head to the music. And when it gets to the chorus, youāll probably be moving your whole body. A lot of personality and energy defines this song, and something about it really captures my attention. This song is really easy to listen to, all thanks to the fantastic production. And iām also going to add that itās pretty catchy. After a few times listening to it, you might find yourself singing along.
This is a great song. From the the slick bass-line to the fresh, chill vocals, thereās plenty to love about it. Everything just works really well together to create an incredible vibe.
If you donāt know who these guys are yet, definitely give their music a listen and you wonāt regret it. I for one am looking forward to what theyāll be making in the near future. Loving the tunes so far!
I'm just like DeRozan. If I shoot it, it goes in.

Vera Blue - Private
Private marks a big change in Vera Blue and her early career in music.Ā
Vera mentioned that this is a song about fantasizing of someone you canāt have. Being a song with a lot of emotion and power, itās a big statement to start her debut album with! Here Iād describe her as angry and frustrated, and it really shows in the way she sings as well as in the lyrics.Ā
āWhatās wrong in reality feels so right in my fantasy. I just wanna make you feel good.āĀ
These are the lyrics for the chorus (both lines are repeated), and it ultimately shows off a lot in regards to what the song is about. As soon as the chorus starts, the song changes dramatically. From a soft and quite tone in the verses, accompanied by just a piano, the track then uses an electronic beat. I would also say the build-up into the chorus is really sudden, but it works pretty damn well! The electronic music works because of the aggressiveness in which Vera sings so it was well-fitted.
And the vocals? Theyāre great! Itās also recognisable if youāve listened to her music before. The frustration and anger she shows in her vocals seem raw and suit the entire theme of the track perfectly.
Although this track is pretty short (going for less than two and a half minutes!), every moment is definitely worth the time to listen to. I also want to mention that this is the first single that has been revealed for her debut album, so sheās clearly starting off with a bang. I reckon sheās on the right track, and Iāll hope her album is a success. I would for sure recommend giving this song a listen!
All credit goes to Vera Blue for the single cover.
Sippin' bubbly, feelin' lovely, livin' lovely. Just love me.
Zacari (Kendrick Lamarās LOVE. feat. Zacari)
SAFIA - My Love is Gone
If youāre from Canberra, youāll probably recognise this electronica band and their debut album Internal. The song Iāll be talking about is My Love is Gone.Ā
This track starts with an instrumental with a theme that supports the music video and its setting, and then leads into the vocals of the first verse. I personally think the introduction is a little bit too lengthy at almost 30 seconds, but the rhythm of the upbeat nature was nice to listen to.Ā
Once the vocals come in, the song gets even better. SAFIAās vocalist has a unique and distinctive voice. He does a great job setting the tone of this track with sincerity and makes the story of this track believable.
After almost three minutes into the track as the 2nd chorus finishes, the beat drops. The song smoothly transforms into a great dancing track thatās simply just enjoyable to listen to.
With a chill vibe, a catchy chorus, great vocals, and clean electronics, you might find yourself getting into SAFIA and their music. I would definitely recommend giving this track a listen!
All credit goes to SAFIA and Parlaphone Records for the album cover.
