đ€đ€đ€Talos the mighty! đȘđȘđȘTalos the unerring! đŻđŻđŻTalos the unassailable! âââTo you we give praise!đđđ
We are but maggots, đđwrithing ă°in the filth đŁđŁđŁof our own corruption! đ°đČđ«đȘWhile you have ascendedđ±đ from the dungđ©đ© of mortality, đ„đand now walk among the stars!đ ââš
But you were once man!đšđšđš Aye!â ââ And as man, đŠđŠyou said, âLet me show you the powerđȘđȘđȘđȘ of Talos StormcrownâĄđđ±, born of the North,đđâ where my breath đšđšđšis long winter. ââI breatheđ€đ§ now, in royalty,đđđČand reshape this landđđ which is mine. I do this for you,đđ Red Legions, for I love youđđđ.â
Aye, love. â€â€â€Love! đđđEven as man,đŽđŽđŽ great Talos cherished us. đđąFor he saw in us, đđin each of us,đ«đŹđ the future of Skyrim! đđThe future of Tamriel!đđđ
And there it is, friends! đđThe ugly truth! đđđWe are the children of man! đŠđšđŽTalos is the true godđâȘđ of man! Ascended đđfrom flesh,đđđ to rule the realm of spirit!đ»đ»đ»đ»
The very idea is inconceivable to our Elvenđ±đ±đ± overlords! đșđșSharing the heavens đđwith us? With man?đźđ·đ Ha! They can barely tolerate our presence on earth!đđđ

Terrible and powerful Talos! đđđWe, your unworthy servants,đđđ give praise! đđđFor only through your grace and benevolence đđmay we truly reach enlightenment!đđđ

I just watched The Blob for the first time and not to spoil it but cold is the only way to stop it so they ship it to the arctic. And these old B movies get a lot of flack for not actually being scary but the last line of the film was that the blob canât be killed but at least itâs stopped âso long as the arctic stays frozenâ and lemme tell you that is THE most terrifying line a viewer in 2018 could hear.
anyway i have a pitch for The Blob 2

She has a few words.

The cup
I havenât watched the whole season of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo yet (because I only watch it when I have my mother in the room to encourage her to adopt the method too) but one of the episodes really struck a chord with me because of what happened in it:
This woman brings Marie into her kitchen and immediately starts talking about a special cup her husband inherited from his grandmother, which had his name engraved on it. You can tell from how the woman speaks about it that sheâs been trying to get her husband to toss the cup for ages because he never uses it âeven though he says he willâ and you can tell the husband is uncomfortable about it and has a personal attachment to the cup.
Marie Kondo doesnât take the wifeâs side on the issue, but presents an entirely different strategy to deal with the cup. She recognizes that the cup doesnât need to be used to spark joy. She proposes that the cup be used as a kitchen ornament, tying it to the handle of the cabinet so whenever the husband comes into the room, he feels joy when seeing it.
She doesnât force him to start using the cup, or to throw it away because it isnât used. She recognizes that it has a different value and finds a place for it where it can show its value. She puts it where it can be visible, too, instead of packing it away.
Having had people tell me before that certain things Iâve had for years or have sentimental value like that are âunnecessaryâ and that I should ditch them because theyâve âoutlived their usefulnessâ I appreciate her perspective on this. Itâs not just a âuse it or lose itâ kind of method. It recognizes that some things bring you joy, and itâs ok to keep them around. Thereâs no pressure, only joy.

Americans are too poor to survive whether or not they're working
A new study from the United Way claims that 43% of American households are in a status called âasset limited, income constrained, employedâ (ALICE), which denotes employed people who canât afford housing, food, childcare, healthcare, transportation, and a cellphone â the basics of modern living.
Umair Haque (previously) connects this to the idea of America as the worldâs first poor rich country, a country that is awash in wealth, yet so unequal that nearly half its residents sink deeper into debt every month â and most Americans die in debt.
As Haque says, if you work hard all your life and die with no assets, no savings, and debt, thatâs not employment, itâs serfdom. Americaâs former middle class have now hit the limits of their ability to survive with stagnating wages by taking on debt secured by their meager assets â the family home, pensions and so on. Now, Americans are both kinds of poor: asset-poor and wage-poor. Americans arenât poor because they donât work hard enough: theyâre poor no matter how hard they work.
And unlike poor people in countries like Pakistan or Nigeria, American poor people live in a country where things like childcare, medicine, rent and food are very, very expensive. American poor people are poorer than the poor people in poor countries.

what is it about a retail uniform that makes boomers lose all empathy or critical thinking
i was grabbing something to eat at whole foods and one woman started shouting âexcuse me?! excuse me?!â and I ignored her cause I donât know her. She then came up to me and grabbed my arm and went âI was calling you! Can you help me find something?â and I was likeâŠ.I donât work here? And she rolled her eyes and went âWell can you find me someone who DOES?â and when I said âNo, sorryâ she got all huffy. likeâŠ..bitch I donât work here and Iâm not on the clock. I need to eat.
Once when I was in Target with my mom this woman tapped me on the shoulder and goes âdo you work here? where can I find the baby section?â. The target dress code is a red shirt, khakis, non-slip shoes, and a name-tag. My mom and I were wearing none of these; I didnât even own a red shirt at the time.
I just said, âwe donât work here??â She got mad and was like âAre you sure?â so I went âAre you stupid..?â and carried on shopping
Iâd like to think its less the uniform and more the fact that baby boomers simply just lack empathy and critical thinking as a whole like that wasnât the first time an older person has asked me for help assuming I work there when Iâm wearing nothing close to the uniform and am minding my own business shopping and it certainly hasnât and wonât be the last
this happened to me in best buy. nothing i was wearing resembled their uniforms, and i was very clearly shopping, testing out different laptops and shit.
this lady came up to me and asked what tvâs were the best (which like, you couldnât ask someone in that department in the first place ? i was on the other side of the store ?), to which i explained that i donât work at best buy. she got really pissy and kept demanding i help her and i was like i ? donât ? work ? here ? i ? donât ? know ?
she threatened to get âmyâ manager to which i had no response because again, i donât work there. theyâre not my managers. i just kinda said âokayâŠ?â, and she really went and found a manager and brought him over to where i was just tryna find a laptop.
she starts telling him what happened, and he was like âma'am,,, this kid doesnât work here. heâs not one of our employees.â
she claimed that i should have helped her anyways, and that sheâd be giving their store âa very bad reviewâ
like what the fuck was that shit
OK but if you donât think that our generation is gonna be doing exactly the same thing once certain people hit 40, you havenât been paying attention, we already went from âletâs be compassionate to the kids growing upâ to âthe next kid who mentions Fortnite in front of me gets punchedâ. Itâs not just boomers itâs people who are old enough to feel entitled to special treatment.
Someone finally said it
For real, letâs not be those people please.
